I was looking into the reviews here and they almost put me off buying this printer but I'm very glad that I did buy it after all! I bought it from Argos, as it was discounted to the same price and I could collect it straight away and started the set up at home feeling a bit apprehensive because of the two reviews here. It was surprisingly simple to do. I put the disk in my lap top, chose wireless option /I did have a cable but since it's a wireless printer, why bother/ and I was able to set it up without a cable. Just had to press the button for wireless on the printer and click here and there a couple of times on the installation wizard. The wizard told me when to press that button,all in all it was as easy as 1,2,3! I'm very happy with the speed, it takes just over 10 sec when in sleep mode but once it's starts printing it's very quick. Brother a well know for low running cost, price is more than great for a wireless all in one and the fact that it comes with a standard full toner is a great bonus. I've checked the prices for replacement toners on Amazon before I bought it and I'm very happy with my investment. My old colour inkjet is working just fine, so the black and white wasn't an issue for me, paying through the nose for ink was. Only downside is that you can't put smaller than A5 paper size in it, I tried several times and it went sideways every single time. But there is an option for customised size, where you can shrink your label etc to whatever size you need, print it on A4 and cut out the label. Of course not ideal if your regularly printing envelopes smaller than A5 but I have my old printer for such rare to me occasions and I'm not bothered! Love the device! Haven't tried the fax as I don't need it!

Bought this printer from Tesco as they were selling it £7 less than Amazon with the money off voucher on their website.Overall, I'm impressed. I put up with the awful inkjet technology for far too long. I regret not going down the laser route a long time ago as things are so much easier with laser printers. No more clogged inkjet printer heads and no more wasted ink trying to clean the heads. The printing results with this printer, as you would expect, were very good when printing text but there is some banding that can be seen when printing lighter solid colours.I was really impressed with the wireless capabilities. This is something totally new to me because I have grown up with printers being connected to a PC with a USB cable.Now I don't need that physical connection and I was amazed that I could print something from my tablet.The build quality is the biggest disappointment. It is really flimsily and cheaply built. The plastic is not top quality and it sometimes feels like the plastic will snap in two when opening and closing the lid of the printer. The LCD display on the printer is small and hard to see. The power lead is a lot shorter than on my previous printer, so these are minor hassles.Despite the poor build quality, I am impressed with the laser printing technology. The advantages over inkjet are huge for me. The downsides of not having colour are not that important. I finally found a printer that works as it should.

Tricky to install via wireless option, it took me over a hour and around a gazillion attempts for the software to finally find the IP address, but once up and running it's a brilliant printer, it's fast, fairly quiet, and fairly well built, and even comes with a full sizer toner instead of a starter toner as most printers, the scanning software supplied could be improved ex: no option to preview already scanned pages in multi page mode but in all fairness some other brands don't even bother supplying you with a scanning/printing suite, overall I'm impressed, especially at this price tag, way way better than my Samsung 2070w that lasted a week after i decided to throw out of the window smashing it into pieces (best decision ever made regarding that crappy printer) my only tip to brother would be: since your installation process is sh*t, you could at least have the decency to bundle a usb cable in the box , but apart from that, it's a really good printer

We do low volume of home printing and rarely want colour so this cheap and cheerful laser printer does the job. Good quality printing, can sit for weeks without being used and still happy. Good copier with scaling (we do a lot of walking and like to take copies of walk book guides with us rather than the actual book, and books are funny sizes). Easy to set up and link to multiple computers and unlike other printers, the connection is stable.The scanning software is a bit quirky and dated - Canon scanning software was far better 10 years ago, but once you work out its foibles you can get multi-page PDFs and good colour scans - and it is a pretty quick scanner compared with other budget printers I've had in the past.Refills are reasonably priced if you shop around.Unlike ink jets. I've also had good results with compatibles on lasers.

The printer is OK but nothing special. Lower-end Brother printers like this one tend to be basic, plasticky and uninspiring. It's not difficult to set up and the software's OK. The best thing is the toner cartridges it comes bundled with. This is the first time I've seen this and it's a good idea. It's great not having to worry about being out of toner for quite a while.What's slightly worrying is I've had a Brother laser printer before and it started printing little dots and imperfections all over the page, something that wasn't rectified by changing the toner cartridge. I'm really hoping that won't happen with this printer.

This is a printer, photocopier and scanner in one machine. It’s fairly easy to set up and quite compact. But the printer quality is not quite as good as machines I have had with just one function, and you have to catch each piece of paper as it prints out. So you have a few niggly issues but they are compensated for by the multiple functionality I would say.

Great for general copying, printing, scanning.Easy to get replacement cartridges for.I have had no frustrations or problems with this printer.I purchased this because I was fed up with the constant problems with colour printers and cartridges, no matter how expensive they were.This does what I need to do as I am not needing to print photos etc.
