I really want to like this bag. I researched for weeks, comparing dozens of bags and manufacturers at a range of prices, and finally settled on this Brooks Pitfield. While there are some strong features that I really like - cavernous space, broad shoulder straps, great laptop compartment - it's unfit for purpose for me due to a single poorly designed non-functioning component.The aluminium hardware that allows for adjusting the strap length doesn't apply enough friction to stop the strap from moving freely through it. That means that when I wear the bag, walking or cycling, pressure is applied and the hardware lets the straps slide to their maximum length. Even if I pick the bag up with one hand,
