I tried the Caldera based on the “find your shoe” part of your site. I got to try them out on trails in CO and they work as advertised; gripping even the loosest stones on the trails. They are comfortable, but light and I feel stable in them. My only issue is that there does not seem to be much arch support in them. I have an average arch, but they left me feeling a bit flat footed, especially when used on the road rather than trails. I would say, if you are older and need decent arch support (used to be standard in all shoes) go for a high support model, not average. Brooks has always been known to be “good for your feet” so I was just a little disappointed in the lack of arch support.Love the laces though! They don’t slip & untie like other materials and they seem a little more durable than other materials.

I never write reviews on shoes, but I just had to share what I love about these! First of all, I've ran about 150 miles so far on these and they feel just as good as day 1. They offer the perfect amount of cushioning, volume, width, and tackiness; Brooks please don't change this shoe, it has been perfected. I'm training for my first Ultra in these, and they have been absolutely wonderful so far. I have a wide forefoot, and high volume foot and these fit perfect in all the right places. I'm also very prone to blisters specifically on the outside of my big toe and I haven't gotten one in these, which is a pretty big deal for me especially on long runs. Will absolutely be buying another pair or three!Thank you to my local Fleet Feet for hooking me up with these.

I don't even know where to begin. I LOVE THESE SHOES!!! I haven't had so much comfort walking and exercising in years. I started menopause last year and have chronic pain now, knees, back, hip, neck, due to old automobile injuries and I had just about given up, succumbing to depression. I had been very active until the last three years. Well, now that I have these shoes, I am WAY more active, walking every day. Nothing hurts. NOTHING. My muscles are tired from use but that's GREAT!!!! I am believing I can get back to running that 5K. I wish you had them in slippers, boots, dress shoes, etc. because I do not wear anything else, seriously. My feet feel amazing even after 12 to 15 hours on.I am getting another pair asap!!! To be continued..........

For several years, I’ve run in the Cascadia for everything from a 3 mile to a 50km (which I loved but couldn’t find anymore...are they discontinued?), and this was my first time trying the Caldera (bought the same size). A bit more roominess in the toes, and quite a bit more room in the heel - for the steeper downhills, my heel was sliding around on my first run...I’ve switched to wearing my thicker running socks, which seems to be working well. Overall, it’s a comfortable and springy shoe - I’m only about 25 miles in, so I’m hoping they work longer term and for longer runs. I was a bit bummed that they didn’t have the pocket in the tongue to prevent laces from coming untied (like my last two pairs of cascadias),but so far they are staying tied!

These are the first Brooks shoes that I purchased (usually Nike). I needed a more cushioned shoe for older knees and and arthritic ankle. I am a 62 years old walker, not a runner, and go on both pavement and dirt trails. After several walks, I am very happy with how the shoes fit and the cushiony feel. No heel slippage or uncomfortable pressure points. The toe box is wider than the Nikes I have had, which is more comfortable for me due to a bunion on one foot. It did take me a few walks to get used to the feel of the feel of the cushiony sole; I felt kind of wobbly initially. My dress shoe size is 7 and I always purchase a 7.5 in athletic shoes; no difference for the Brooks.I will definitely purchase another pair of this shoe in the future.

I’m an avid, experience runner with >20 marathons under my belt and 3 ultras. My distance shoe of choice is the Brooks Glycerin so I wanted to stay in a Brooks trail shoe that resembled the fit and toe box. I need some arch support so after comparing reviews for the Caldera, Cascadia and Catamon I chose the Caldera. I’ve run about 30mi in trails thus far and like the shoe. They give good arch support, not a lot of heel movement, and have a very neutral feel. One complaint is that the arch rides high near the distal foot (toes) and can rub after awhile. However, so far I don’t have blisters. The only other complaint is that they don’t transition well to concrete surfaces well.My feet definitely fatigued easily when I tried to do that.

I can’t believe how much these shoes are doing to relieve my chronic lower-back pain. I walk 2+ miles daily, and, with my Calderas, my back is noticeably less sore after my morning exercise than it is before. Whatever you’ve put in the soles is just what I need. The thickness of the sole, the low drop, and the firm heel support give me a great “ride.” The soles’ super-grippy bottom encourages me to be intentional about lifting my feet as I step, a reminder I need. The Calderas seem a bit shorter than other Brooks I’ve worn, but not enough to need a larger size. One comment: the shoelaces are too long (I don’t use the extra holes) even with double knotting, and feel a little insubstantial.Otherwise, the shoes are perfect. Thank you!

This is my first pair of Brooks and am super happy with them. I was skeptical, since the Cascadia doesn't work for me. I have been searching for a shoe that has a wider toe box, accommodates a high arch, and also provides enough cushion. I've found it! The upper is very comfortable and form-fitting, with a great "lacekeeper" strap on top. The mid foot is nice and fitted, which is often a problem when the forefoot is wider. The soles have held up extremely well on rough terrain (I've struggled with the HOKA Challengers in this regard). This higher-cushion shoe performs amazingly well on rocky/rough trail and off trail (I just used them in the Speedgoat 50k, and I have no complaints).I even like the colors : )

I absolutely love these shoes! I have a relatively narrow foot and these hold nice and snug around the arch and ankle (no slipping) while still leaving room for my toes to wiggle and flatten out so I feel stable. These have been great for my usual run route that is a combination of gravel, sand, grass, and some old broken up concrete and I don’t notice any negative impact transitioning from one terrain to another. Since starting to run in these shoes, foot, ankle, knee, and hip pain is at a minimum and I find it easier to go on longer runs without noticing fatigue in those areas. Please keep these around, as they are my new go-to!

I love these! I had previously ordered the Cascadia and hated them because they were super stiff and just felt really uncomfortable but these are great! I have wide feed and they’re super comfortable, big toe box, and good grip but still cushioned sole. They look a lot cuter than other trail shoes as wel!Ordered them because my HOKAS were not very supportive and i have fallen arches. I was having a lot of issues with shin splints and since getting these, although I’ve been easing back in to running, i already feel more supported and my shins don’t hurt! Would recommend over the Cascadia. I love brooks!

Love the look, the tread is super bouncy, comfortable. The only issue I seem to be having is that they feel a bit tight, I used my normal socks, tooo tight, used thinner socks, my foot slides around, and the little strap they have to keep the laces secure doesn't help. My feet end up feeling way to hot. I do have wide feet. I dnt know, I didn't want to give a lesser stars simply because it may be me and not the sneaker. But they are uncomfortable in that aspect. To tight on the top of my feet, and my feet end up feeling like they are burning at 4 miles.

I'm not a runner, but wanted a good shoe for walking. I have wide, flat feet and usually wear New Balance. I was looking for something more stylish and a little more fun that wasn't grandmotherly or clunky but still had great support. I love Brooks' process for assessing where you have pain, what your issues are, etc. And I love this shoe! Lightweight. Excellent arch support. The sole grips both wet and dry surfaces beautifully. I can't believe I haven't discovered Brooks before. Brooks will be my go-to now!

We're very happy together, this shoe and I. It provides a remarkable amount of support while running down technical terrain without feeling heavy when the trail opens up to something flat. It handles well on rock surfaces, gravel, roots, anything I've thrown at it so far. As a warning, if you have ankles prone to twisting, you may want to try this out yourself first - mine seem to hold up OK but I've definitely had some awkward moves on roots and these shoes aren't necessarily going to support you.

So I walk, I don't run. But the terrain is either the sidewalk or a trail. And these shoes are amazing! Perfect for the sidewalk but they really shine on the rocky trail. I was nervous about the height and rolling my ankle, it took some getting use to, but now it's like I have warn these shoes forever. I was having hip and knee pain after walks and turns out it was my shoes. Haven't had a problem as long as I'm wearing these! The only negative part ate the laces. They have already started to fray.

I have worn Brooks Cascadia since #5 and love them. I decided to take the shoe finder quiz for fun and it recommended the Caldera 4. They promptly arrived in time for a trip to do some hiking in Colorado. Right our of the box, they were so comfortable. They have quite a bit more of a cushiony feel than the Cascadia and a nice wide toe box for my Flinstone feet. I wore them on hikes ranging from 4 to 9 miles and my feet were comfortable, no rubbing or hot spots. I think I found my new trail shoe!
