My son is a little bit obsessed by cars and trains so this seemed like a great gift for his 4th birthday. There are plenty of other wooden train sets available and almost all are cheaper than this but what I liked about this one is the little intricacies. You can put the people in the train carriages, the lifts work, the crane lifts cargo, you can change the signal and more. Secondly I also wanted to be able to extend the set with extra pieces and parts and there are so many options with Brio.My son has absolutely loved this train set and plays with it daily. He actually prefers it to playing on the tablet which is a huge positive in my book.

We ordered this Brio set for our twin boys. It came with a small storage box. The set contains a very wide range of pieces and needs to be assembled by an adult. There is a great variety of track sections, stations, and types of vehicle. This includes a crane, tube train with inbuilt flashing head lights (excellent), boat to dock with train/cranes, and figures that fit in the trains. The pieces are beautifully made, with great attention to detail. For example, the lorry has a cab that opens to reveal the engine, and the rear section slides to release "cargo" (which can in turn be picked up by the crane with the magnet). I rarely write reviews but compelled to to review this train set. We bought it for our 26 month old train and car set obsessed little boy. He has a simpler much cheaper train set with bridges which he loves but was clearly getting bored with. This set has been a huge hit and he has ignored all of his other Xmas presents including a tablet from granny in favour of this. He loves operating the station doors, the lift and putting all the passengers into the train. The crane is a little tricky for him but overall a wonderful well built little set. Only minor gripe is that the upper level tracks tend to come apart easily given the slight lack of support but it's easily rectified.

Absolutely lovely train set, it has everything you need, plus it’s easy to expand.You can see the real quality in the pieces of each track, we have some Ikea track which is really light and has broken easily.We have got this for our 19 month old son for Christmas he is obsessed with cars and trains, we took everything out the box and built it to make sure it was all there. Once we had checked it and had a little play with the set ourselves we put it back in the handy storage box ready to be built on Christmas Eve.My favourite train is the metro tube train as it has sounds and lights (my son loves sounds and lights).We would highly recommend this train set, if you were to buy everything separately it would cost way more,

Bought this for my then 2 year old. He plays with this for hours - it is the toy he plays most with by far. And now he is 3 and his little brother of 1 joins in too. There are a lot of different stations and accessories in this pack which makes for interesting layouts. We supplemented with some extra track packs and have since acquiredore stations and signal points and bridges etc. The components are very well made and have so far withstood much abuse without incident. We love Brio in our house!

Bought for our sons 5th birthday. He really loves the set but needs help assembling it. It's good quality wood, and a very nice town set. It is not cheap, clearly. But it will be his to treat well, play with, and pass on to his own kids one day. It is durable wood after all. Goes well with the RC engine and even the smart tech engines.It's quite large and will need some floor space, so bear that in mind when your child won't let you put it away :)

I bought this set at Christmas for my Niece's (twins). They love it. It's not just the track, it's the extra's such as knobs that turn to open doors or control elevators, or buttons that release objects, everything about it engages them.The only downside is the price, not for this set, Brio have a whole world. I ended up buying them the Brio table over Christmas and some extra sets. It just feels like you could pump so much money into this stuff.

This a fantastic train set!! I wasn’t sure about getting it because of the price and have always opted for cheaper versions such as John Lewis. Tried to find second hand brio but it seems to hold its value really well so I just thought I would invest. My son who is 4 is able to follow the instructions to build himself and he just loves it!! Christmas Day he played with it for hours and has done ever since! Highly recommend!

I bought this for my 3 children.We have not opened it yet since it is for Easter but I saw it from the box and it appears to be a very nice piece of toy. Excellent wood quality as well. it is also good that there storage box to keep all pieces inside.It is just a bit expensive. I regretted the fact I did not wait a bit for the price to fall before buying when a week later I noticed it had half price.that ;s the only CON

My 4 year old had this for Christmas and it really is truely fantastic. He hasn't put it down since. Even cried because he had to leave it for bedtime. It's very well packaged, very well made and comescomplete in a beautiful fold down box. The detail in this set is fantastic!! Very happy and definitely recommend :-)

Lots of different trains, with several track layouts and two full stations with people and a ship to play with. An excellent set which will keep any child entertained for hours. Excellent for developing coordination and hand to eye control, whilst helping develop imaginative play.

One of the more expensive train sets available but worth the money. Very solid and well made. Our 2yr old loves playing with it and we're sure he will for years to come. We bought the table too which is ideal for younger children.

Amazing toy for Christmas only one thing I wasdissapointed atMissing people and suitcase from the set. Missing the Railway driver along withand the deck hand from the boat. The set is just perfect apart from that.

This was substantially more expensive than many other wooden railway sets but considering how much my 2 year old son & even 5 year old daughter play with it it's been worth the money.

Love all the pieces of this set, such an investment because it has so many good bridges and two level station, my son plays with this set for hours. Brio is quality as always.
