My 7 week old son loves it, he smiles and coos at the tiger that lights up and plays sounds or music, keeping his attention for at least 10 mins. Not all baby gyms have this feature which is why I chose it, having had a previous gym for my daughter that didn't have this feature, i guessed it would be a good idea. We can also hang his favourite other clip toys to the loops for him to try to bash. Other plus point for me are that the music isn't too intrusive, in fact the jungle sounds are just as soothing for me as they are for him! The material is not overly absorbent so any 'spillages' are easily wiped up if you don't leave them too long. I particularly like the way you can pick it up by the arches with one hand...So you can have baby in one hand and then move it out of the way for space or storage with the other... If I'd had wanted to do this with previous (much more expensive) gym, I had to undo the arches first, but this one has been cleverly designed so that the arches work together. The colours are really bright, with lots of black and white contrasts, which babies focus on much better - so while it is tempting to buy the pretty pastel shaded gyms which would look much better in my living room decor, I know that they wouldn't hold his attention half as well as the brightly coloured stuff! (Made this mistake with our baby swing with its pastel hanging toys-he just never looks at them!?!)There is also a movement activated sound on the tiger- my son is too small to get it working himself yet but I think he will be delighted by this when he gets the hang of it!My only small gripes- the stitching looks as if it would not last if it was handled quite roughly... Not sure it would last more than two babies... And I'm not too sure the tiger needs to be portable -it is a heavy battery operated thing that hangs from the centre and whilst it is attached by a strong velco fastener, it is also easily undone (great if you want to attach to car seat, pram etc..) and I'm always scared my two year old will undo it and it would hit him right in the face.... I'd rather it was one of those big press-stud attachment or the plastic loops like the other ones...All in all, good value for this kind of product...

LOVE this play mat! Baby boy has been entertained on it for hours and hours! We actually have another play mat by Fisher Price (FP), and I think this one is far superior for several reasons.1) The music light up toy can be attached to anywhere on the gym you like owing to the velcro strap it features. The FP one, by comparison, features a music light toy that can't be attached at all. Additionally, the light up/music toy is brilliant as it's the first "baby music" toy that doesn't drive me completely mad with horrible baby music. The lights and music are perfectly timed with each other and I'm not kidding when I say it keeps my little one mesmerized watching it blink and flash its bright colored lights in sync with the music.I'd literally buy this mat for the music/light toy alone. Frankly, if anyone knows of any other good baby toys that play a light show in time to music, PLEASE, let me know!2) I love the inclusion of the tummy time pillow. The pillow actually is perfectly sized to prop our little guy up for tummy time. This is a feat we have attempted to do with a variety of other pillows and props to make tummy time more appealing for our little guy, but none of the other things we have tried have worked. We always end up with an upset and aggravated baby, which has made getting "tummy time" in quite the struggle. Until this silly giraffe pillow came along. I wasn't even expecting to use the thing. But, we gave it a whirl since it came with, and BOOM! Just like that, tummy time was suddenly endurable for our little one. Can't believe it! This is another thing the FP mat doesn't even come with.3) LOVE that it comes with so many attachment rings to hang the toys. Really nice to be able to adjust the height of the toys that hang and makes swapping other toys out and in much easier!

I knew that I wanted a play gym for my baby and after researching decided on this one. I was lucky enough to receive it as a gift from my Amazon wishlist and started using it when my baby was around three weeks old. Until then he didn't stop feeding or sleeping often enough to do anything else! The packaging is quite annoying as it's made for display, meaning each component of the gym is fastened to a cardboard insert by multiple thick plastic ties which all need cutting - I would definitely recommend getting this set up before baby arrives if possible. It's easy to assemble, and the play mat is machine washable, which is very useful since my son quite frequently brings up a little sick whilst playing - though it wipes off without leaving a mark. There are multiple loops to hang the toys from which makes them quite easy to move around, but very secure for baby. What I like best about this gym is the way it caters for babies from a very early age - it has lots of black and white patterns and toys, which are easiest for a newborn to see, and as their vision develops the bright colours and sound and light toy hold their attention. When my son was four weeks old, he would stare at the spotty leg of the gym, and then became fascinated by the dangling cat toy and most of all the tiger in the middle - even before we put the AAA batteries (not included) in he would smile and talk at the tiger for ten minutes at a time. Now he's four months old he is starting to enjoy the lights more, and he grabs and moves the toys easily. I think the teething leaves will become popular soon.Although this gym is definitely one of the pricier ones out there, I have found it to be worth every penny and would recommend it to any other parent.

This was bought in readiness for the visit of our impending grandchild. She has used it these last 4 days and it is brilliant - much better than her own one, her parents tell us. As soon as she is laid on it the various hanging attachments (colour and black and white) attract her attention - some are within her grasp, which is good, but this could be altered with a little thought if desired (she is 5 months). the centre piece (which needs 3 AAA batteries) has various sounds and lights, and these were more popular than we thought - When it was on 'tune' mode, it plays a number of melodies and these last for perhaps 15 mins (we haven't timed it). She was lying quite happy cooing away, and we realised it had finished when she changed to her little yelps which was to inform us in no uncertain terms that it was time to re-start it!There is also a larger item which is light enough for her to handle now, and which wll be used for her to lie over when a little older.Any downsides? More a comment than a gripe - a baby lying on the mat will have her head reasonably central - this will mean that the feet will tend to come over the edge more and more as they grow. In other words an oval shape might be slightly better. However a full 5 stars without doubt!

I spent ages trying to find the right play gym and was really pleased with this purchase. The bars are really sturdy and safe, you can hang several Lamaze toys on them (essential for any gym, as they extend the time baby spends playing!) and the bars remain in shape. There are lots of hooks to hang toys on and change them around, and it is a good size. The musical tiger plays all sorts of tunes and nature sounds and the lights are great - the fact that the slightest movement can set off the lights and music really amuses my son, he also loves to touch it and watch the lights change. The mirror is another hit and also the cat chime. There is a zebra rattle and leaves for teething and also a hanging butterfly teether. We also like the big giraffe pillow for tummy time. You can rotate baby into different positions easily and on average my son spends 25 mins in the gym at a time. We do rotate various Lamaze toys around it to keep him occupied, but he loves the toys that come it as well. You can also remove the musical tiger and clip it on the pram etc.I think this gym has been very well designed and I am very pleased I chose it.

My 10wk old son adores this!, I really did my research before buying a baby gym as I wanted one that would keep my son entertained as he bores quite easily and I certainly wasn't disappointed with this one!. Un like many others that only have a few hanging toys and nothing else. This has a sensory light and music show (the music is pleasant to listen to un like alot of anoying sounding musical baby toys this one I dont actually mind listening to for hours on end!) And I like how I can take that part with me to use in the car for longer jorneys etc. My son happily giggles and coos away and is fascinated staring at the light show he enjoys playing with the hanging toys, though we did add a few soft ones of our own because he is to young for the harder teething ones it comes with at the moment. The gym itself is good quality and nicely brightly coloured. I am really happy with my choice and would recommend to anyone looking for something to entertain their baby which is sometimes a bit of a life saver when you have a demanding baby and need 20mins to yourself even if it's in the middle of the night!.

With hindsight £40+ was a lot to spend but I am happy with the product. I got excited and clicked "buy" when I saw my baby play with toys on his £7 second hand baby bouncer for the first time. He is still enthusiastic about the baby bouncer proving you don't necessarily need to pay a lot.It all seems to be good quality. It arrived in a nice box and I remembered what it was like to be a kid opening new toys! The music is catchy and my baby recognises if I sing some of the tunes. He started at a few months hitting and kicking the dangly toys and poles. The bright colours and black and white are exactly what a young baby is able to pick out as their eyesight develops. We have some lovely videos of the play mat and the grandparents liked it. At nearly 6 months my baby prefers chewing. The plastic rings are easy to clip together and set up toys as you want including dangling lower for a smaller baby. You can hang other favourite toys from the rings too. Our baby doesn't like being on his front so have not had much use of the cushion. The mat is not padded so we put it on a rug for extra padding.

I purchased this for my son when he was 2 weeks old. It worked well as somewhere to lie in the early days as a change of view from his crib or bouncy chair, then as his eyes developed he loved watching the flashing lights of the zebra. He then moved on to start grabbing at the hanging toys and we found it a great way of him developing his hand-eye coordination. We also use it for tummy time. The musical zebra seems to be the biggest attraction and he now gets very excited when it starts. It is easy to remove to put on to a car seat instead, and it lasts for about 20 mins which in the early days was just the right amount of time. Now he happily plays in his gym for about 45mins at a time. The mat isn't particularly thick, but we have put a mat/rug underneath it which works well.It was really simple to assemble and I find it really easy to pick it up and move it with me to different rooms of the house so that I can keep an eye on little one. I also take the mat off and take it out with me in the changing bag so that he has somewhere to lie and play when visiting family and friends.

We bought this play mat for my baby girl at Christmas having read a few reviews. She was 6 weeks old when she started using the mat and has been completely mesmerised by it ever since. Now at 9 weeks old, she will happily lay under it for ages cooing and smiling. It has helped her coordination skills and she just loves the musical cat at the top of the play gym - she currently coos at it like she is trying to 'talk' to him and she is much better at being able to feel and bat the hanging toys too, She has even rolled over a couple of times as she plays which was so lovely to see. It really is a joy to watch he use this toy.I've said magical as the title because as well as it being magical to watch her play,it distracts her when she is upset or crying too and that truly is magic. Even if she is screaming hungry while we wait for her bottle to warm up, this play mat stops her from crying almost straight away and gives us some much needed minutes to sort the bottle out for her. This is the best thing we've bought her so far for sure!

Absolutely love it! LO is now 8 months old and still loves it. From day one, 3 months, it kept her thoroughly entertained. The tunes of the tiger toy is very soothing and doesn't get on your nerves after a while like most such toys. The vibrant colours are perfect for keeping the baby engrossed. It definitely stimulates interaction because since she was 3 months of age she tried to grab and pull everything. Both the Tigers, the zebra, the butterfly, the mirror are all a massive success.Lots of loops available to hang plenty of extra toys. I keep swapping positions of toys to keep it interesting. Now that she is teething the teething leaves are coming handy. She loves to chew them and are easy for little hands. The soft giraffe was very useful for tummy time till she was 5 months. The mat being bright and colourful tummy time was fun for the first time for my baby. Have taken mat to holidays as well- very easy to pack up and carry. All in all the best money we spent so far. Highly recommended

Ordered this gym for my little ones first Christmas and it did not disappoint! It mixes bright and colorful with black/white elements to draw his attention. It comes with teething leaves, a zebra rattle, mirror and musical light up tiger which he loves. When I go out for a stroll , I attach it to the pram bar and he just smiles and stares at it much to my delight. It lights up with colorful lights and either plays melodies or nature sounds. It has 2 volumes and rather steady play or by motion. The mat is colorful ( - satiny finish so the only drawback is I wish it had some texture as well as the mirror doesn't prop up on its own). He's still getting used to tummy time but the giraffe pillow helps. There's lots of circular fixtures to hand the toys from and move them about. I have tile floors so I bought a rubber play mat to go under the mat for extra cushion as I don't think it's thick enough. It's easy to assemble and machine washable. So happy with my purchase

I bought this item when my baby was first born and it is used daily. Baby is now 5 months and still loves the mat - best of all it keeps him occupied so I can get things done! I love that you can mix and match what is hanging from the gym so that baby does not get bored. My baby is much more active now and can work his way to the edge of the gym where he proceeds to try and pull it down - the gym's design doesn't allow it to collapse on to him (to his dismay and my relief!).I actually had an issue with my cat - the off button did not work and so I was getting through at least one set of batteries a day. Since no one else on amazon had reported this issue I thought I must have a faulty item.I contacted the manufacturers directly and they sent me a replacement cat which works perfectly - no fuss.Even more pleased with item now - and good to know that you are buying from a trustworthy manufacturer. Would definitely recommend this product.

I was given this baby gym as a gift shortly after my daughter was born, it has possibly been the best gift we received. It has kept my daughter (now four months old) entertained for ages enabling me to do some of my daily chores. The removable musical cat is suitably distracting, I strap it onto her car seat and buggy to entertain her when we are out and about. The cat has three different settings - normal straight music (which admittedly can get a bit irritating after a while), nature sounds which we use the most as it is less irritating, and a movement/touch sensitive music setting which changes music each time the baby touches it. All can be used with a light display which my daughter loves.I would have bought this gym merely for the cat to be honest!!! Now my daughter is four months old she does get bored of it a little more quickly but that is to be expected. To summarise, I would definitely recommend this baby gym to any new mother.

We bought this mat only recently for our 8 month old baby boy after seeing how much he loved using another well known popular baby mat at friends houses, but it's near twice the price of this one. I bought this after noticing near no difference between them to justify the price and reading these reviews. Im so happy I did, the famous light flashing/music playing cat/tiger is brilliant, the little melodies it plays are so sweet and jolly beware:you will be humming them all day long! My only complaint is they are each not long enough, they're so good! Whoever composed them deserves a huge pay rise! The other toys/rattles/mirror provide plenty of entertainment and the mat cover itself is shiny and comfy. To make it super safe and suitable for our baby who's rolling around, we lay it on top of a much thicker blanket and inside a play pen so you can rest assured they'll stay happy and safe. Totally recommended.

This playmat is absolutely great! Our baby loves laying on it and gets completely absorbed looking at all the toys and animals around him. It is colourful but also has black and white patterns which our 1 month old boy loves. The musical toy at the top is just perfect; he stares at it for hours. You can change the music from a little louder and active to a soothing jungle night backround noise. The lights also seem to mesmerise the baby.As soon as we put him on the mat he stops crying and starts smiling, which is a godsend. I cannot praise it enough. He raises his little arms to touch or punch the soft toys or grab the rings and pull. It's also easy to grab from the handle and put to the side out of the way.I would only suggest putting on top of a carpet to have a little more cushion under the litle one's back. It's not bad on hardwood floor but he seems to be more comfy that way.
