I wanted to wait a while before I posted a review on this and I’ve now had this machine for almost 7 months. I was a bit worried worried about the start button on top as it does feel a bit flimsy, but in my busy teen-filled household, this takes a hammering day/day out and it is brilliant. If I was to be picky, then it could do with the water coming out a bit more direct and less some bits to the side etc., but it always seems to stay in the cup and not run sideways, so not really a problem. One tip is to be careful when cleaning as we found the silver colouring rubbed easily off the front trim - the bit behind where your cup goes. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for not overusing water or electricity and we love it.Will definitely be getting another if this ever dies.

So far so good. Easy to fill and reasonably easy to use though the button feels that it may not last. The downfall is the drip tray. It was described as adjustable but you have to actually completely turn it upside down including the insert (which is by the way not securely attached) every time you change the cup size. Would have been easier if it was just sliding up or down otherwise is too much hassle. But other that that is good. Looks better than I expected and even though it has bigger tank than my previous breville it actually takes less space. Love how it lights up. And the angle of the lid is great, makes it easy to refill

I must say I've never spent more than a tenner on a kettle before but due to my partners fibromyalgia we were looking for a solution that you don't have to keep lifting the kettle up.This is perfect we found for the money and the convenience its better than expected, even thou you have to wait for it to boil again if your making more than 1 cup it still performs quicker than a conventional kettle, it just sits in the corner no unnecessary steam hitting the above kitchen cupboards and a choice of cup sizes you can control with an easy dial on the top, construction seems solid with a convenient lid for filling on top easy peasy

Why didn't I buy this years ago? This is so quick and easy that my "happy purchase honeymoon " is very unlikely to change. I would strongly recommend buying this variable dispenser because of the different cup sizes. I now have problems lifting a heavy kettle and standing the waiting time of one. Problem now solved. Not only instant cuppa, but instant hot water for stock or pan for veg etc. The water is not as hot as a kettle but only buy a fraction. Still makes a hot cuppa. Simple to operate and see when needs refilling. Very easy and quick to make one drink after another. Extremely happy with the decision to buy this

I have had this for about a week now and initially I was doubtful of its purpose. It just boils water quickly and fills all sizes of cups to the brim. I don’t take milk so that suits me fine but when making a drink for others I have to pour some out. When you have been using a kettle for all of your life this takes some getting used to. I like it, it makes a speedy drink with little fuss or noise with just a press of a button. The kettle is in cupboard and as yet I haven’t felt the need to use it. It looks stylish as well.

This is my second breville hot cup "kettle" my other one being quite old and finally stopped working! This one is much better than my last one as you can adjust the amount of water that you require. It also has a large refill capacity. The best feature for me is that you don't have to lift it to and from the tap to fill it. Once plugged in, it is easy to fill with a smaller jug of water. I am unable to lift heavy kettles of water and this is perfect! Its is also must quieter than my last breville one cup.

A good looking and useful piece of kitchen equipment. Which saves you money by only boiling what is needed. It can be filled with a jug and there is no need to move the machine. It has a 2 height drip tray depending on whether you filling a teacup or using it to fill a pot snack. It has a variable water dial delivering anything from a teacup to a large mug. Depending on the amount of water you need at its maximum setting it only takes 28 seconds to boil a mug of water. A great piece of kit if.

This was bought to replace a similar kettle, the nice thing about this new one is that you don't need to be carrying it full of water. Our previous one was lifted from the base then filled ant then replaced, I found this difficult sometimes as I have lost all the fine motor skills in both hands. The amount boiled and dispatched is adjustable, there is also a stop button to prevent accidental spillage of boiling water that works without delay. A great way to have varying amounts of boiled water.

I've had a one cup dispenser before and thought they were great. However, there was a couple of issues (it was a different make), it was rather bulky this is not the case with this dispenser.I have the silver optional and find it very stylish. The other issue with my old dispenser was the temptation to carry it to the tap to fill it up. This dispenser you have to take a jug of bottle of water to the machine which I find safer and practical. It has a large tank and does what is says on the tin

Minor grumbles - 11 different presets selected using dial - trial and error, but large stop button makes it easy to stop pouring instantly. Water 'sputters' out a bit at first until flow gets going, and makes gurgling noise and clunk at the end - both 'normal' operation according to instruction manual. Need more water - remove drip tray and place jug/bowl underneath 'tap'. Drip tray - spend time to understand how to secure this properly in its 'higher' position. Bit expensive but it's good!

Since getting a Smart Meter i noted that it cost 2p each time I boiled the kettle (and sometimes 3p). I thought it was time to try a single cup dispenser and very pleased to find it only cost 1p per cup. Not big money I know, but over the course of a year as an estimate I'm saving over £30.The variable cup size took a little trial and error, but now I've mastered it I find it a great facility. And the drip tray can be adjusted in height to accommodate larger mugs or a coffee press jug.

Very impressed. So easy to use ideal for arthritic hands. Easy to use just turn the knob on the top to vary the amount of water for the size of cup place cup underneath spout push the button and 30 seconds later you have a piping hot drink. You only boil the exact amount you need. All in all it is quite sturdy. Start button is easy to depress. It holds enough water for one for a day. The cup plate is very easy to clean it is completely detachable and comes apart easily for cleaning.

A super piece of equipment for making a cup of tea. Only have to fill the water tank once a day and good with arthritis not having to lift a kettle and fill every time to make a hot drink. Just have to remember to adjust the volume dispenser knob for the size of mug. Only downside is that the lead is not very long.Still need a kettle for a larger amount of hot/boiling water e.g. for cooking veg but certainly a great energy saver for only boiling one cup/mug of water at a time.

I found this when browsing for a new kettle and liked the idea of filling the tank but it still only boiling what you need. It’s fast and quiet. Looks good on the worktop. I’d definitely recommend a variable one - I didn’t realise we used so many different sizes of mug.Our biggest mug is half pint and it fills that with just enough room for the milk. For tea drinkers it’s great because the boiling water goes straight on the tea bag, and it’s a consistent amount every time.

Having had a Tefal one cup kettle for 10 years it was time to retire it and find another. In that time Breville have taken over the baton and I have seen a number of early models in friends houses. Those earlier versions lacked the speed and instant that the Tefal could provide. The new Breville is just as speedy as our old one ( 25secs for a typical cup) but looks up to date. It just boils what you need and therefore saves loads of electricity and is quieter than our old one.
