I have PCOS and one of the side effects is excessive hair growth. This is something I have really struggled with over the years and have pretty much tried every single form of hair removal with limited or no results. I decided to try out the Braun Pro 5 and have mainly focused on facial hair. The pro 5 arrived the bag it comes in is really nice good quality and stylish inside the bag I found the Pro 5 device with both the standard attachment and the precision attachment which is more suited to some areas of the face such as upper lip and chin area as I found the standard attachment couldn’t get to these areas properly. There was the instruction manual a Venus Extra Smooth razor and the power cable.Make sure you read the instruction manual, I found this easy to read. After reading through the instructions I started to do a patch test; The pro 5 has three intensity settings which you need to test to find out which suits the skin area you are wanting to treat I did this on my cheek and then left it for 24 hours to make sure I had to adverse effects. After 24 hours I started my treatment; The device has a sensor to make sure it is fully in contact with the skin this is shown by a strip of lights on each side of the device the lights will be red if there is no contact and the machine won’t work, Once in contact with the skin the light will turn green and will begin to work I used mine on the middle setting on my cheeks and neck then I used the precision attachment on the highest setting in my top lip and chin. Depending on the level you choose the unit will adjust the speed of each pulse with the higher heat setting being the slowest and the lowest heat is faster. If you keep the button held the unit with continuously flash or you can press it once at a time, you choose whichever you feel more comfortable with. This is now my fifth week of using the product and the results have been amazing. Because my hair growth is caused by a hormonal imbalance I assumed it would take much longer to see any kind of difference however I have patches on both my cheeks and neck that are smooth and I haven’t noticed further hair growth in these areas. Everywhere else the hair growth is much slower and the hair is becoming more sparse. I will continue to use this product once a week and expect even more amazing results. I finally feel more confident I truly cannot recommend this product enough and am excited to see what happens.

So where do I start with regards to this amazing product the Braun IPL Pro 5. I’m absolutely amazed at this product, my first thoughts were is looked very feminine and very classy with the gold trim, it’s comes in a handy carry case which is ideal as a previous IPL machine I used didn’t come with a storage bag so kept the box, also if your travelling and require a treatment while away it’s handy to use the storage case to pack neatly away, the other little fantastic freebie is the razor that you also get with the time, everything you need to start you IPL journey. I thought the IPL May hurt a little but due to the range of settings it’s tailored to you and how high or low you feel comfortable with the machine.There are 2 different attachments, one for bigger areas like legs and then an additional one for smaller areas like face and bikini line. I wasn’t expecting much improvement over the 4 week period but I’m absolutely amazed. After week one I noticed a reduction in hair growth especially to my legs, I usually start to get prickly the morning after shaving but with this machine that did t happen, this increased after each week and the hair growth reduced dramatically, I’m now on week 4 I’ve had no hair growth under my arms for 2 weeks and I’m only just starting to see a slight growth on my legs which is minimal and no reason to shave. I’m amazed by this product and would highly recommend. People say the price tag is high, but add up how much you would spend on razors, waxing, hair removal creams etc and I’m confident it will all mount up enabling you to see this IPL machine is worth every penny. Not only that but the results from this are a dream for and woman wanting a long lasting hair removal solution. The treatment is quick taking around 10 minutes to do 2 legs, was a little longer at first due to getting used to the IPL machine and the best way to move around your body. I feel the IPL machine is life changing, it’s saved me money, saved me time and makes me feel more confident. The results are outstanding and you will not be disappointed. I have always wanted to try a laser hair removal device but due to the price I had been put off just incase it didn’t work. I suffer with ingrown hairs and my hair grows back extremely quickly, if I shave in the evening the next morning I will feel my hair growing back already which is a nightmare so I was excited to give this ago. I downloaded the app before my first treatment so I could make sure I was consistent and on time with the treatments to get full efficiency. I must say the app is extremely helpful and a great feature to the device. The first 3 treatments I didn’t see any difference and I was quite disheartened however I am currently just finished my 5th treatment yesterday andbefore shaving I noticed there was only a few patches on my legs where there was only a little bit of hair growth I also noticed the same results on my arms, I would say about a 70% hair reduction which I am absolutely stunned by I never thought I would get to this point with how quick my hair growth usually is. I have seen only 30% hair reduction on my bikini line and underarms I’m guessing as the hair there is thicker it will take longer to treat which I am fine with. The design of the device is sleek and girly, the gold finish gives a luxurious feel. I love that it is compact as it is easy to store and travel with especially with the lovely case it comes which. The first time I used the product it took me a little while on my legs to get used to positioning the device I find the large head to be too big for my lower leg but it is perfect for thighs and underarms. The smaller head is perfect for all other areas of the body. I find the highest setting on the device does feel not painful but slightly uncomfortable on some areas but luckily there is three different settings and the other settings are fine. I do find maybe there should be some safety goggles as you get when you got to a salon, it is hard to use the device without looking at it so you are constantly looking at the flashing. Overall I am really impressed with the results in just a month I hope within the next month or so that I will be nearly completely hair free.

I have been testing the Braun IPL 5 for close to 4 weeks now and have definitely noticed a difference in my hair growth. I have Asian Indian wheatish to fair skin tone and black hair. The chic device is lightweight and has a really long cord. It comes with two heads. I use the broader head for most areas and the smaller head for the face, hands, and underarms. It comes with a nice handy squarish bag for storing the device. It also comes with a razor to start off. The device is very easy to use. There is an instruction booklet plus details on usage available online as text and videos. There is also an app available to keep track of your treatments. It takes me around 40 minutes for me to thoroughly do the arms,legs, underarms, and face. I prefer to exfoliate through the week and shave the previous day to prep the skin for usage. Although the treatment isn’t completely pain-free but just feels like a small hot touch every time the laser pulsates – wouldn’t call that painful – anyway not anywhere close to waxing pain. Also, there are three laser setting options in case it feels too warm. Waxing by myself would take me some 2-3 hours and a lot of pain. I have certainly noticed a reduction in hair on my arms and the growth has slowed down as well. The legs and the underarms are still in progress and I hope to see some changes in the next couple of weeks. I did notice that some of the hair on my jawline came off rather easily and without pain (I was just trying to tweeze some strays out). I usually only use a razor in between treatments to avoid interfering with the hair growth cycle. Although the price point is high, I would hope it makes a good investment in the long term. The only thing to note is that one needs to be consistent in treatments to start seeing a change. I am really looking forward to the long term results of usage and being hair free (almost).

Having long struggled with razor rash, the awkward stages of between waxes and the horrific smell of hair remover I feel like I have re-discovered sliced bread. The Braun Silk-expert Pro 5 PL5124 does exactly as it says on the tin and then some. I was a little sceptical when I first read about the results and thought the only way to prove this was to try it for myself. I will never go back to waxing/shaving/hair removing again. The device itself is stylish, not cumbersome at all and incredibly simple to use. It has a separate smaller precision head attachment for smaller areas that are trickier to get to and the flex is long enough that its doesn't restrict you whilst using the device.It comes in a suede pouch to keep it all together. Unlike other IPL hair removers the Braun Silk-expert Pro 5 automatically detects your skin tone and hair colour to give you the correct intensity of laser to achieve optimum lasting results. I have been using the device weekly for 4 weeks now and the results speak for themselves. I have used the device on my bikini line (using the smaller head), my underarms and my legs. I could see visible results on my bikini line after the FIRST use – the hair grew back in slower and there was about a 30% reduction in hair. After two treatments under my arms you could see a noticeable difference, and after each treatment of each individual area the results just got better and better. My leg hair is quite fair but there is definitely less hair after 4 treatments. By my summer holiday I should be totally hair free in undesirable areas. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone. I had been contemplating going to a salon for IPL hair removal for a while as my friend goes, but I am so glad I put it off and got the Silk-expert Pro 5. I get better results at home than she gets going to a salon.

Best purchase I've ever made. Ever. Hands down. I use it weekly on my face, chin and neck and had really good results after about 8 weeks of using it. I have light skin and dark hair (that had become quite coarse from years of shaving).I have been using it for about 4 months now and I just keep being more impressed. I used to have to shave my face/chin/neck multiple times a day, which made my skin really sore and red and I was very, very self conscious about it and the stubble. Now I can't remember the last time I used a razor for that! It has also worked on random hairs on my chest and abdomen area and I'll shortly start using it on my legs.I was skeptical about how beneficial it would be as I felt like I had exhausted all other at-home hair removal options and nothing had worked. It was a big gamble to spend so much on this item, but it really has exceeded my expectations. It's very easy to move around contours and I love the fact that I can hold down the button and drag it over my skin and it will keep zapping as long as I keep skin contact. Really speeds up the process. I now spend less than 5 minutes every week on my face/chin/neck/chest/abdomen with none of the sore skin or razor rash! There are three intensity levels as well which I can switch easily between, eg when moving from upper lip to chin.I also have a Phillips Lumea Advanced IPL from about 5 years ago which was much bigger, bulkier and more difficult to handle; it felt like a chore to do it ever week. It also wasn't as effective for me. I love how easy the Braun is to use. I love how much confidence it has given me. I wish I had had this 15 years ago.

First off, I know that this is expensive, most definitely a considered purchase, but when you consider the level of treatment you (and whoever else in the household) get, I think it’s really worth the investment.It comes very well boxed and packaged, and I like that it comes with its own little storage/carry bag. It also comes with a Venus razor to start you off on your treatment journey, and a power cord. It’s fairly compact, and also very comfortable to hold. There is a chart to enable you to deliver the correct treatment for your skin type. There are also two heads, one for larger areas, and one smaller one for facial hair. Please note that it states you can only use this below the cheek bones,so no cheating and using on your eyebrows!Then, it’s on with the action. The larger head enables you to cover larger areas, such as legs. The continuous movement means you can achieve some great results, in very good time. There’s no pain as such, just a little sensation that, to be honest, you forget about after the first couple of goes.I have to say, I haven’t used one of these before, so I’m afraid I have nothing to compare this one to. However, I can certainly recommend this model. It works really, really well. I’d say it takes three treatments to start to notice a proper difference, but once you get those results, you’ll be ecstatic with your new home treatment system.I’d say that this is as close to going to a salon as you would ever get, and I feel that the level of results justifies the cost. Look after this gadget, and it will serve you very, very well.

It might seem expensive upfront, but it’s honestly the best money I have ever spent!As someone with naturally pale skin but unfortunately dark, thick leg hair, I’ve always struggled with the maintenance. Shaving grows back too quickly, and whilst waxing is effective it works out expensive and waiting for the regrowth, particularly in Summer months is excruciating and embarrassing - having to go out with hairy legs on an unexpectedly hot summers day!!!When I first heard a review of this on Instagram I was excited at the prospect of finally being able to have permanently smooth legs. I was a little bit sceptical however about how ‘pain free’ it would be.My first ever use of the product the initial sensation did make me jump,but it wasn’t painful just warm and perhaps a slight gentle sting. However each week the process gets increasingly easier and pain free. I’m the biggest wimp when it comes to pain and I can honestly say this has never hurt - at the very most a slight sting, this seems to happen if you missed a hair when shaving.I’m now coming to the end of my first month using this and I barely have any regrowth now! By the end of the week after I’ve treated my legs I literally have a few stray hairs in patches, but the rest of my legs are smooth and hair free. I know eventually there won’t be a single hair left!! I’m honestly amazed and it has given me so much confidence. Being able to get my legs out without the stress of having to wax or shave is amazing. I would highly recommend this product!

I was using it for a four weeks now , that means once a week that’s what instruction says. At first I was very sceptical about all light hair removing devices and I thought it gonna take so much time to do the treatments but I was totally impressed about it. This is my first light device for removing hair . The device itself is very easy to use , no pain , not heavy easy to handle I would say I even enjoyed and couldn’t wait for my next treatment . I used an app special for it to track the log when is my treatment due so I will not gonna miss it . I’m a light skin with a black hair , used it for the legs , hands ,face and underarms and here is the results only after four times of using it Legs - wow I can’t believe but it’s nearly totally gone I would say 80 % of the hair is gone by now so two more treatments and they will gone forever Arms - 60% hair is gone because maybe the hair on my arms is not that dark like on my legs but I keep doing a full treatment which is 8-12 weeks Underarms - not really happy with underarms yet would say it’s gone about 40% so I will need some more treatments Face - 70% gone I’m happy with a results so far , I will keep using it for another four or eight weeks and I believe i will say good bye to my body hair forever I recommend this device to my friends they are impressed with my results . So it does really works , doesn’t take much time to do all areas about 20 mins that’s all in a week and the results is amazing

I used the Braun IPL Pro 5 PL5124 on my legs, my underarms and my face.I loved that it came with a precision head! as a lot of areas were hard to do with just the head that is attached at first. I had some trouble with my legs at first, figuring out how to do the areas around the boniest area were hard but the machine itself is curved so nicely that it made holding it in different ways very easy. I am still using mine after 4 weeks on a level 1 or 2 out 3 setting and I've gotten great results on my underarms and face! As for my legs the grow back is slower than after normal shaving. Also using the fast setting on my legs was amazing because it helped me get my legs done in less than 15 mins,in some cases it took me less than 10 minutes. I tried a level 3 but the IPL was too intense for me but I think most people will find that it is easy, even the highest setting is safe especially being an at home product. I was surprised to see my facial hair not really coming back at all as well. It is very well made and the senso touch made it really easy. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to try. Also the long cord was a definite plus for me! it helped me to use the machine anywhere i needed at the time around the house. I also loved the braun App that helped me track my treatments which were on different days. Would def recommend this to friends and family or even someone just starting out using and IPL for the first time, this was by far the easiest I have used.

I received Silk-expert pro 5 Pl4124 from supersavvy! The premium pouch is beautiful. The razor not for me. The smaller head is really helpful for areas like knees, elbows and face. I shave my hair the night before because i noticed that if i shave my hair and use the machine straight away it’s a bit itchy. I used the gently mode for my first two times in all areas. For the first time I’ve noticed that my hair wasn’t growing so fast. The light it’s a bit strong but you get used to it. It’s so easy to use it and handled it so sometimes I just turn my head from the other side if I feel the light it’s too much. It’s really good that you don’t have to charge it and it’s fast.I find it very easy to use it and the app it’s very helpful. Each time I use it my hair grows slower than the previous time, it’s thinner and grows up a little bit above the skin and stays like that. From the second time my skin feels smooth and very soft because I don’t feel the hair like it been shaved. I noticed hair reduction on all areas but the biggest change is my arms and armpits. It is painless in some areas maybe you feel more heat but not pain. I really love it and already recommended to friends. Some people will think is a bit pricey but if you calculate all the money that you have to pay every time to go to salon you can save a lot of money.

Have been one of the lucky people to be able to test this product. I’ve been using it for 4 weeks and I can honestly say it works 100%. The biggest difference I see is on my legs, I have been waxing before I started using Silk-expert pro and would see hair growing back after few days but now I have only seen a few after only a week. My legs feel much smoother, not scratchy as before. My bikini area is a bit more stubborn and will require more sessions and the most stubborn is underarms. I suppose that is normal as hair in these areas is usually thicker and stronger. When it comes to design, I personally like it, it holds nicely in hand and is easy to use whichever way it being held.There is however one flaw and that is the little fan positioning. After using it for 5 minutes the air being blown out to cool devise, becomes very warm to a point where it’s almost burning and gets a bit awkward to hold. The 2 different sizes of heads are very helpful depending on what coverage we need in that area. The cables are long enough even if it’s a bit away from the plug. The light flashing is a little bit annoying after a while but is not as blinding when the room is very light. Overall I would recommend the product. Although there is still room for improvement I think its worth its price and does the job properly.

I had not used an IPL device before, so didn't know what to expect. However, I am aware of the high cost of salon treatments, so although this is expensive, it would soon pay for itself. I read the instructions carefully - highly recommended, as there are precise rules and exclusions for its use. The device is light and easy to hold, with the buttons easily within reach whilst operating it. I found the prickling sensation quite acceptable and not painful. It is quick and easy to use, especially as you are able to keep the button depressed to use continuously as you move over the skin - real bonus when you are treating your legs. I have been using this continuously (as recommended)over three weeks and my hair growth has slowed considerably - and what is growing is very weak regrowth. I have not needed to use this on my face, but there is a smaller head provided for this purpose. I love the long flex provided - too often you have to sit on the floor close to the socket to use these products and this makes it easier to sit in comfort to use it. It is a fantastic way to keep hair growth in control easily in your own home, without spending a lot of time and money in a beauty salon. This is a well made, very effective beauty aid from a trusted, reliable brand and highly recommended.

I had about 15 IPL treatments in a salon over the space of 2 years. It did work but the hair was growing back in patches and I had to get top ups every 5-6 months. These were expensive and I felt buying an at home IPL device would save me money.After a lot of research, I decided on this product as it had a 3 month 'money back guarantee' , a light sensor, inbuilt fan and a precision head. I have fair ski, and very strong hair. I use it on the highest setting and it doesn't hurt (the odd time it may slightly sting). I bought this 3 months ago. You have to be patient, use it once a week and don't expect miracles. The hair started falling out by week 3 and was slow to grow back.Be careful; the first time i used it i burnt myself - I obviously went over the same patch twice.Now i mark out the areas with a pink highlighter so it doesn't happen again.I decided to try it on my arms (I have never had IPL on them before), they grew back slowly and I've noticed a few patches where the hair hasn't grown back .Although my underarms continue to grow back with strong hair in patches, I cannot blame the device as this has happened with the salon machine. I have recommended this product to a few friends of mine.
