This is my third pair of Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones, the first two being the over the ear design. I've done a back to back test with the over the ear headphones, and these in the ear headphones offer almost the same sound quality as the over-ear headphones, and a noticeably improvement in noise cancelling too. The battery lasts a very long amount of time and I've only actually run the battery down a couple of times (although you do need to remember to switch them off!).One advantage over the larger headphones (other than the obvious compact nature, ideal for travelling) is that you can sleep on a plane in these. The reason is that with any noise cancelling headphones, when the tiny microphone touches the plane headrest you'll get a buzz, but with these in-ear headphones being so much lower profile than the over-ear design, this doesn't happen when you turn your head to the side to sleep. My only criticisms are the limitations as follows: if the cable brushes on your clothing you'll get a rustling through the headphones, when you walk you can hear your footsteps and when you eat you can hear every minute detail of your chewing magnified. The rustling can be solved by using the clip, but you do need to keep pretty still when using these headphones to avoid these sorts of noises.

I have owned these for 3 years. I cannot fault the sound quality delivered by the well fitting ear buds. The noise cancelling makes airplane, train journeys and general commuting through crowds feel like a different world, eliminating almost all of the surrounding noise. I get a few pops when train doors close which is very surprising the first time but bearable, although this still a surprise when a particularly loud one occurs.Unfortunately my problems are with the unit build quality. I carry my phone and battery in my trouser or coat pocket. Due to the design of the phone (headphones jack on the bottom) I carry the phone upside down and the lead has always been bent around to correct the earbud orientation out of my pocket. This has caused the lead to split, exposing the insides. The second issue is the thin plastic covering over the battery which has split at both ends and has now torn off completely in places. I can only put this down to friction when carrying the battery in a pocket.Lastly, the monitor button stopped working, although this was before the lead insides were exposed.I guess wireless is the only solution to these problems unless they’ve been redesigned.

Bought these to allow me to work in peace in a busy office. And when other reviews talk about turning on noise-cancelling and getting silence, they are not exaggerating. They are bloody brilliant. Working in the office is heaven, flights and public transport are no longer a riot on the sense. Calm has descended. My only issue is that I have now had my set for just less than 2 years (this may be a record). I have used Sugru to support all weak points and they have withstood daily usage brilliantly. However, to remove an ear bud I hold the cable below the ear bud and pull it out and I think this is what resulted in violent whistling in that ear bud during removal because some wiring has been loosened.Today the ear bud (the body not the wing tip) fell open and whined continuously. I make have killed it finally. The ear buds (via the wing tips) stay in my ears really well, and rarely need adjusting. This means they can be difficult to take out, hence my use of the cable to pull them out. But this has weakened the wiring. So, let that be a lesson to you. If you love your Quiet Comfort ear buds, don't use the cable to take them out and they will last for years.

I have had these now for a few years and they have been around the world many times. As a frequent traveller and having taken these on literally hundreds of flights I would not lave home without them. The noise cancelling is great and cuts out all the jet drone on a plane and shuts out even the crying babies. In some ways i find they work better than the QC35 headphones as they don't come off your ears if you fall asleep. The sound quality is what you expect from Bose as well and they deliver on all types of music. The only real downside is the the battery bit, it just gets in the way it is ok if you put your phone in your shirt pocket but if you stick it into your jeans you can guarantee if you pull your phone out of your pocket you will pull out the plug. Also for the best sound quality you have to have these turned on, as passive headphones the sound quality is definitely less.In summary I wouldn't be without mine on any journey where a plane or train is involved or for noisy city centre hotels but at there full price they are expensive but fortuneatly they are often on sale or available tax free at airports

I treated myself to these last year and am so glad I did. I play most of my music via a Samsung phone while using the Poweramp app (I use Poweramp when using all wired and bluetooth headphones on Samsung phones as the Samsung music app doesn't have enough juice to power high end phones or headphones) and all I can say is that these earphones are amazing - they have brilliant sound quality for all kinds of music, podcasts and audiobooks - clear sound , deep bass and no distortion at all. I barely use half the volume setting on the Poweramp app when listening to these - can't understand why some reviewers state that they're not loud enough ( and I'm 60 years old)These little marvels are a lifesaver when I am using public transport - as soon as I turn them on I have a big smile every time due to the great sound quality and noise cancelling - I have many bose products and have never been disappointed.

I was half expecting these earphnes to die out on me. Either the battery or the ear piece, sound quality, general electrical faults. But no, nothing.I'm happy with the money I spent on these. I just hope the current models are made with the same quality control they were 2 years ago so you can enjoy them the same I have. This is not an audiophile earphone btw, please note the sound is not true and comes out boosted. I have no issues with this since my purpose for these headphones is not to produce or do sound engineering work but rather enjoy music in various scenerios.I bought these as travel companions and as a traveling consultant can honestly say they have been my best friend during lonely times.Music has kept me sane and the catalyst to escaping reality into my own imagination has more than been fascilitated by these beauties.Highly recommend... Keep up the hard work Bose <3

I've had these headphones for over a year now as I commute to London on the train each day. They are perfect to shut out the outside world and noise and lose yourself in music or a film on the iPad. I've not had any issues with "popping" or drop outs on the train or tube and I can't emphasise how good these headphones are. If I've forgotten to charge them and the battery runs flat they still work as normal headphones but the difference without noise cancelling is startelling.I honestly could not do without them for travelling or just walking about town, my only gripe is the wires as I prefer Bluetooth headphones (for sport etc)so I'm debating upgrading to the new version of these as they look very good too!All in all if in ear headphones are your preferred choice like mine then I would but these in an instant, well worth the money and the quality of Bose speaks for itself.

I'm bought QuietComfort 20 headphones after a long period of reading reviews and thinking about whether they'll be worth the money. I bought them from the Bluewater store mainly because I wanted to test before for buying them. I wanted to get them for bedtime listening and for cancelling out kids first thing in the morning. I have sound sports headphones and sound quality is as good and they are comfortable thanks to the tips. There is a bit of white noise caused by the noise cancelling but this is expected- this doesn't affect the quality. When you turn on the noise cancelling - SILENCE. low frequency is filtered better than higher frequency sounds but nevertheless, the impact on noisy environments is brilliant!Today for the first time in 10 years I overslept as it was so quiet yet the kids were up to their normal weekend shenanigans!

I bought these primarily for the noise cancelling feature and they do not diasppoint. For in-ear headphonones the noise cancelling is very good indeed. They don't block all sound but they are not supposed to. The "aware"mode is very handy too. I agree with previous reviews that although the case is well made it is a little on the small side and you worry about bending the cables that go into the noise cancelling/battery module. The sound delivery is very good but you expect this with Bose.My only negative is this: At both ends of the battery module there are two little panels on either side of the cables that enter the module. Two of these came off within the first few weeks.Probably a glue issue but a little disappointing. So noise cancelling and sound very good, build quality not so but happy with purchase and would recommend.

I got these yesterday afternoon while waiting to catch my trans Atlantic flight. Have always wanted to get a pair of noise canceling headphones buthe reviews across the Internet really point to bose being your best bet so it took me ages before actually forking out the cash. I went for the QC20 for the size and simplicity. I gotta say I was not disappointed. Tried them on first in a busy bar... silence. Tried them on again in the plane... silence. Tried them on again in a VERY busy airport terminal... silence. Really happy with the QC20 so far. Slept the whole second flight with them on, no music or show playing, just to kill the main drone of the plane. It's like stepping into a separate bubble, away from all the nonsense around you. So far so good. Really pleased.

If you suffer from Anxiety, PTSD or Hyper-vigilance, you won't know how you managed without them.Sounds they block out 99% of the time are are aeroplane noise, noises coming through walls, boiler noise, washing machine, hoover. When you want to relax and watch your favourite show, you have the serenity of knowing that nothing will disturb you. With ANC on and no audio playing, sounds that get through are opening & closing of doors, light switches, and whistling.Going to the park is a dream, just pop the ANC on with no audio, all you can hear are the birds singing.Be aware that if you buy these anywhere other than Bose direct or an authorised dealer, Bose will not offer a warranty. But you can pick these up for a bargain price on Ebay.

These QC20 (Black) were the third pair of BOSE noise-cancelling headphones that I've owned and initially I have to say I was very dubious that an in-ear headphone could be completely noise cancelling. How wrong I was. I upgraded from the QC15 over ear headphones and thought nothing could ever be better than they were. The biggest difference I find with these is whilst flying, the QC20 100% blocks out aircraft noise whereas with the 15's there was an only an ever-so-slight noise but still enough to be noticeable. Even when on the phone, these always deliver. I was especially surprised at how good they when the noise cancellation is not activated and they are in normal mode. Brilliant. Can't wait to try the 35's!

I have had my QuietComfort earphones sinnce late 2015 and they are by far the best i have ever used, i had the normal in ear earphone from Bose but wanted these as I have had a lot of Dental work done at the hospital due to a long term problem I have had, I hated the sound of the drill so tried these out, all I could hear was the Music from my Android phone, it was like I had turned every sound arounfme off apart from the fantasic Music I could hear through the earphones, the only donw side is that they are not loud enough for my Rock Music. LOL 9/10 but i will get more when they have died, great work Bose.

I previously had the Bose QC15 headphones but wanted to use something that was small and portable yet still had the noise cancelling feature. I went with a few competitor brands but they just didn't make the cut. I went with these headphones because a friend recommended them. I can honestly say that these are quite possible the best headphones I've ever used! They are with me every day.Great balanced sound from the highs to the lows and comfortable to use, you don't even know they are in your ears.If you are not sure what headphones to buy, get these because you won't be disappointed.

I have had this product for some 2 years now and still operates as effectively as when I bought it. I have and continue to use them every day for my commute and at the gym.Yes the battery is somewhat annoyingly large and they tend not to cancel out some higher range noises and they do crackle once when the pressure suddenly changes like entering a tunnel on the tube.Despite this the sound quality is sublime and on aircraft and in very noisy environments they work fantastically for me.Can't wait to upgrade to the wireless ones but I feel I will be using this pair for a while yet!
