This is my first Bosch washing machine, having previously had a Hotpoint for 15 years. However, I am now boycotting all Whirlpool appliances having been a victim of their terrible handling of the tumble drier recall (ask me another time).So, the Bosch then - well you could say Bosch is the VW of washing machines - marginally more upmarket (and, by the way, more expensive to repair) for no apparent reason other than it's German.There are some good features on here: a handy 15 minute quick wash, a spin only programme, a countdown in hours and minutes of how long your programme has to run and a timer setting (set the time you want the cycle to finish).It's FAIRLY quiet - quietness IS importantto me as mine is situated in an open plan kitchen/dining room so the last thing you want while you are eating your tea is the sound of a Ferrari engine as the machine goes into the spin cycle. I suspect there are probably quieter machines around, but for the price this is probably about as good as it gets. What will be interesting to note is whether the same level of quietness is maintained as the unit gets older - as my experience with washing machines is that they get noisier as the years go on.Ease of use? Well I have just about sussed it out. The machine isn't particularly intuitive to use (note to Apple/Android - there's a gap in the market for the iWashing Machine) and the instructions are terrible but you will get there by a mixture of experimentation, intuition and the badly translated manual. Example? "To avoid the programme to terminate, do not turn the programme selector beyond the off position" (me neither). The illustrations are equally poor. Surely it is not beyond the resources of a company of this size and reputation to come up with a better English instruction manual?Anyway, this is a washing machine, it cleans clothes, it's a 21st century necessity, there are many out there to choose from, all of which look pretty much the same, some of which will break down more than others, this one is by a reputable brand and, hey, it seems to be OK.

My partner and I purchased this machine after reading plenty of positive reviews on Which? Best Buy’s website. This machine won washing mashing of the year award 2017 and it does not disappoint!We upgraded to this machine not knowing what to expect, and after a simple installation found ourselves pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is! Our previous washing machine washed clothes very poorly, but this Bosch washing machine leaves our clothes, sheets, and towels smelling absolutely perfectly clean! We use Persil 3in1 tabs in the drum along with Comfort Pure liquid in the drawer, which provides excellent results! Delivery was prompt and the guys brought it into the kitchen for us,the machine fits perfectly into normal size spaces. There are loads of functions on this machine including fast, long, and hot washes, however we find ourselves only using the Mixed Load option at 40C 1400RPM for everything. This wash takes just 1h:03m and leaves everything including heavy towels smelling great! Love this machine, it won’t disappoint and I use it more than my Fiancée! This machine is quiet, I mean really quiet, and you’ll only notice it when it’s filling with water and on full spin! But then that only lasts a few moments! Bought as a replacement for a 10 yr old Bosch, I was amazed at how quiet the machine is, (admittedly the bearings were going in my old one as it sounded like a 747 taking off when spinning!)It looks smart, the controls are familiar if you have had a Bosch before, all the settings can be varied, speed, temp, water use, choice of eco or speed, delay timer etc.As long as the water is below the glass door you can pause , open and throw in an extra item mid wash.Back to the quietness, when it washes, you hear virtually no motor noise, just the sloshing of the clothes in the water, when it spins, there is just a hum/whine that is really not intrusive.Clothes come out well spun (up to 1400)I saw areview where someone obviously hadn't read the manual and complained of the combines rinse/drain/spin setting, if you just want a drain, turn off speed and aqua, if you just want a spin, turn off aqua, leaving as is for a full rinse.Overall really impressed.The current price norm at time of writing is £350 and I would happily pay that but more discounts can be had for shopping around or waiting for relevant eBay deals!Read full review...

While I wouldn't apply the word 'amazing' to this product, it is excellent and certainly is living up to my expectations. It replaces an old faithful of many years and has happily and successfully done so. The instructions could be a little more explicit, especially for those of us who are not familiar with up-to-date functions. That said, learning through doing is the way to go! It is quiet and comes with all the functions and programmes that I require. It is too early to comment on efficiency regarding power or water consumption but I hope it lives up to its rating. The powder drawer is a little sticky, which is annoying. The trim on the door is a bit obvious for my liking but that is forgiven by the general overall performance.The installation is tricky and requires both knowledge and strength but does not require the services of a professional, merely a strong and competent diy-er.Read full review...

Great machine, has performed very well.Couple of niggles but nothing disastrous, If you want to wash on a lower temp and shorter time the weight allowed drops from 8kg to 5kg or even lower, which defeats the object of buying a bigger machine. Also when you put it on a duvet wash it says it needs to 2kg max which seems odd for a duvet, haven't tried this yet.Spins lovely and quiet washes all items very well, better than my last machine which was horrible all round although it was a different brand.so far will buy this brand in the future.Great that it tells you how long is left on the wash and beeper to tell that wash has finished.

We bought this to replace our old Bosch washing machine and we are very impressed with it. The instructions are clear and we like that you can see how long is left in each cycle. It also has the added bonus of a sportswear cycle, which is very handy for us. Our old washing machine had died, so we had about a weeks worth of washing to do by the time this machine arrived. The 8kg capacity meant we were able to work through the pile very quickly in just a day. It is so quiet that I had to keep checking that it was actually working! Even the spin cycle is practically silent. A lovely washing machine, highly recommended.

Extremely happy with this washing machine, I had it for 3 months now and I must say, it completely lived up to my expectations. I had to wait for it as the courier was lost somewhere but then it arrived and I mounted it myselft in a matter of minutes (10-15 min) and started by cleaning the drum with the appropriate program.After that, I treated it with the first load and everything came up perfectly clean and every since any wash I did I never had to give it another go. I particularly like the night wash options, which allows me to get all the clothes hanged as soon as I wake up and have them ready for the day.

It’s a lovely machine and so quiet. However after using it for a couple of weeks I realise two things:1. It will not do an independent spin cycle. You can only select ‘rinse, drain, spin’ so if something comes out too wet, you cannot re-spin it.2. It does not have a pre-wash programme. It has the compartment in the drawer for the pre-wash detergent but it does not do a pre-wash. I guess the drawer is a generic part.I would have preferred to have had both those options and I guess unless you do a detailed list before you select a model you do not realise these things.Otherwise I am pleased.

After a disastrous few months with a not fit for purpose BEKO machine I decided to go for the Bosch based on reviews and a fair bit of research. Firstly it's quiet and doesn't move during spin (I have wooden floors so this can be a problem sometimes). Also the drainage hose and filter are easy to use and doesn't flood the kitchen floor when using (unlike the BEKO!). Lots of cycles to choose from. I generally go with the mixed load which does 4kg of washing in either 45mins or 1hr 15mins depending on eco or fast setting. Really pleased with purchase.

I chose this Bosch washer for 2 reasons. 1. I'd had my previous Bosch Maxx for 16 years and only had a set of motor brushes replaced in that time, it cost me £66, not bad for 16 years hard use. 2. Which magazine gave it a really good write up so I made up my mind to have one as their reviews are independent, so I trust them. I was actually surprised when I used it as Which had "a noisy spin" down as a negative point, well, it was very quiet but perhaps my old Bosch was slowly getting noisy and I didn't notice it.

We got this to replace our old Bosch which had been totally reliable for nine years but begun to be a bit noisy.. we also needed a bigger drum. This Bosch is brilliant and it is SO quiet, it has a new style motor and really is so much quieter. Simple to use and very well made. If you have a family with kids and the constant need to wash, then this bigger 8kilo drum and it's a more economical machine, is the one for you !

Great quiet machine washes really well, but I do have some concerns about the build quality it feels flimsy, the draw is something I can't see lasting 5 years never mind 10. Its a shame as Bosch use to make really well made products.Update after not even a week my machine has developed an annoying squealing noise on spin cycle. I had my concerns about the build quality but didn't expect it this quick.

the bolts that are used to stablise the drum during transport need to be removed.this unit came with NO WARNING on the back of the machine indicating that the bolts need to be removed prior to use and that if not then there's a high likely hood of the machine being rendered useless with [little/no] recourse to compensation.

Am very pleased so far, have only had it for a week. Was very dubious when I got it at such a good price. However it's a quality item and I feel confident and in control, as you can decide what temperature, spin speed and it has a quick wash. Also senses how much water depending on the load. What's not to like.

I have used Bosch before and this is an upgrade to my old one which had served me very well. Cannot find anything bad to write, the machine is compact, sylish and very quiet. Got it for a good price and hope it lasts just as long as my last one.
