This review concerns the Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 Electric Rotary Lawnmower, Cutting Width 45 cm, price st review £252.57.Having previously used Previous mowers from the Bosch ‘ErgoFlex’ Rotak range, including mains and cordless variants I was interested to experience the improvements offered.Amongst other functional and cosmetic changes, the three principle marketing features of the new mains operated ‘AdvancedRotak’ machines compared to the earlier ‘ErgoFlex’ variants are:-1. The ProSilence’ quite motor;2. The enhanced compact storage ability;3. The improved cutting height adjustment.I can confirm the ‘ProSilence’ motor assembly offers a considerable improvement over earlier similar models.Naturally, it’s not totally silent but it emits more of a hum / whirl effect at a considerable drop in volume; indeed not unpleasant at all. A most welcome enhancement.End of season and short term storage of a mower has always been problematical for me and whilst the folding handles of older models offered a great improvement, the combined height of machine and handle still proved unsatisfactory. The storage ability of this model is in my opinion a massive improvement/ upgrade. Not only does the lower portion of the handle assembly fold forward flat over the motor casing but additionally the top section now features an easily adjusted telescopic action that further considerably enhances compact storage particularly now that the grass collection box has also been redesigned and is now collapsible. An excellent refinement. The telescopic action of the upper handle housing the multi-position trigger switches and control grips also enables convenient height adjustment for individual users. To change height cut, previous generations of Rotak mowers have featured a sliding handle, set in a notched trough.Whilst effective, I found it rather fiddly - thankfully this machine now features a press button and pull handle assembly that coupled with the repositioned angle of the handle offers simple adjustment between the seven cutting settings. My review model arrived with a mains lead extending to about 20m.In use, this ‘AdvancedRotak’ mower is as effective as my previous mains and cordless models, and with the improved features noted above I can heartily recommend a purchase. At the time of compiling this review I note that the machine is available in two cutting widths but cannot currently locate a cordless version.

This review is for the Bosch Advanced Rotak 750.Having owned a Rotak Ergo 40 for a number of years, I have given this newer model a good test to see if it really is an improvement or just marketing hype.I am please to say there are some significant improvements, making it the best lawnmower I've used, although with a couple of shortcomings. What's good- It is compact, saving valuable space in the shed, with an ingenious mechanism that easily folds the arms down out of the way, while remaining study when unfolded and in use. I value this space-saving attribute a lot, as the handles of the Rotak 40 stick out a lot and take up a lot of space.- It definitely sounds quieter in use, although by no means whisper quiet. I think it mostly feels quieter as the sound is lower pitch, but this is a good thing and it feels less intrusive for me and the neighbours.- The wide cutting width of 45cm means fewer trips up and down the lawn.- Ready to use in 5 minutes out of the box.- The cutting height adjustment is much improved over the red lever of the Rotak, which would occasionally get knocked when in use and lead to a bald patch on the lawn. What's not so good- The electric cable is much, much shorter - you will definitely need an outdoor extension cable reel with this. The upside though is that the cable is less likely to become horribly tangled and twisted as it has on my Rotak 40.- Emptying the grass cuttings is slightly trickier with the collapsible container, leading to more spilt grass cuttings than with the sturdier Rotak 40 container.- The large instruction manual with every language under the sun contains lots of warnings but little useful information about setting up and operating the lawnmower, aside from a few pictures you need to interpret. Thankfully setting up the machine is mostly intuitive.Overall I can highly recommend this Bosch Advanced Rotak 750.

This is a really good lawnmower in so many respects and is only let down by the short flex that comes supplied with it (it is designed for a medium sized garden, but the lead is obviously designed for a small garden). The aspects which make this so good include:- it arrived ready to use and no assembly is required (just unpack from the box and it unfolds immediately from its storage configuration with no need to even read the instructions)- it is quiet, however there is naturally still the noise of the airflow through it and the cutting of the grass itself- it handles even very long grass; although I keep the lawn neatly trimmed, I have just cut down daffodils (which were planted in the lawn)and this just ate its way through the foot long daffs and grass around them)- height adjustment is a single button on the top of the machine, so no messing around with levels by the wheels- when folded it is easy enough to carry by the handle on top of the motor (with the handle out, is it unbalanced)- the choice of four on switches, depending on what works best for you is great as you can swap hands as you go turn around at the end of each strip. The only other minor downside, in addition to the flex length, is that it doesn't produce lawn stripes like my old Bosch did; this may or may not be an issue for you.So, overall, I still think it is worth the full five stars and is highly recommended.

Comparing this to our Black & Decker lawnmower (which, admittedly, cost a third of the price) the first thing to notice is that you can feel the quality. The plastic casing is thicker and more robust and the mower feels more solid when mowing, though that does also mean it is heavier if you need to carry it any distance.I particularly like the ease with which cutting height can be adjusted - no more unscrewing the cutting blade to add or remove extra spacers, now it just takes a few seconds to adjust any time you want to leave the grass a little longer or shorter, depending on season. It allows left or right hand operation. Although the lead isn't that long, I've never had a mower that didn't need an extension cable,so don't regard that as an issue. It is relatively quiet, and feels powerful.I can't find much fault with this model, which meets my expectations of the Bosch brand. I did feel it was a bit overpriced at its original RRP, given the number of cheaper alternatives, but would recommend it at this price (£210).

Just tried this out and given it 5 stars (well, it is a Bosch!).I've had a much narrower Bosch (IPX4) and it's done me proud, even though it was a bit over worked for the amount of grass we have both in the back garden and a large frontage. As this has a wider cut, it takes a little less time than with my old one, and the cut is superb. The noise level is not that noticably quieter (it doesn't quote a noise level, but my old one was 95db and this sounds less). I love the newer way of height adjustment ( a button push and lift to raise or push to lower), so much easier than my old one, but I'm not quite convinced that the netting style of grass collector will turn out to be a good thing, although it certainly takes up less storage space!Over all, this is a good level of improvement over my older Bosch and I would recommend it for medium sized gardens

Cutting my lawn with my new Rotak 750 was a delight. It was very easy to assemble form the box and I was straight into cutting. I love the electrically controlled height adjuster – one touch of a little red button and the blade height raises or lowers. Previous mowers have involved fiddling with adjusters and make it very easy to have uneven settings; not so the Rotak 750.The collection basket is very easy to fit and remove for emptying and collapses for ease of storage. The cut was even and the wheels ran smoothly over the grass meaning the whole process was smooth, easy and produced a perfect cut.In summary - I love it.

30.8.2018

Needed a bigger blade to cut coarse grass. Nice and quiet.A bit heavy and no roller for stripes so that was my compromise as Zi needed a more heavy duty machine which this is. Not recommended for small lawns.reasonable price for high quality product

7.10.2019

It does exactly what is says in the description. It is light weight, quiet and can handle longer and even damp grass if necessary. Came back from holiday, the grass was too long and damp, no prospect of a dry day, so went for it - perfect cut.

this is my 3rd bosch rotak lawn mower the only problem is the cable is no were near long enough my garden is on the big size but this cable would not even do an average garden but love the mower itself

25.6.2020

Excellent product only thing is hard to get to min setting on grass had to set on patio and lead is half the length of my last mower so will need longer extension, otherwise excellent product ?

8.4.2020

Good product. I've used it a couple of times and it seems solid. The only thing that I'm a little disappointed by is the weight. It's heavy, and this can make it difficult to manoeuvre.

7.4.2019

I bought this to do a relations garden, it is very light, very good cut and clears the grass well into the grass box. The lead could be a bit longer but overall It is a very good mower

31.3.2019

I especially like that it cuts close to walls. The cut afterwards looks very good. It is on the heavy side because it's a big machine but I'm pleased with it.

27.9.2019

Great quiet mower. Lines in the grass not very noticeable handles have a bit of twist. Powerful motor and nice and wide have my lawn done in no time

16.10.2019

Very good quality, so should last awhile. Fairly easy to out together. Cuts the grass perfectly, which is just what I wanted it to do. Simple!!
