Pros:+Delightful art style and sense of humor+Easy to pick up and play+Tons of levels+Lots of customization+Tons of variety+Good music+Fun multiplayer experiences+Level creation and the ability to share onlineCons:-It doesn't really do a whole lot of things the first game didn't already perfect. On the other hand, it's hard to say if this is such a bad thing because there's still a lot of variety and it doesn't repeat any puzzles from the first game, but some might still wish they'd added a bit more to itThe original Boom Blox was quite an amazing game. It just sort of dropped in there from EA and Steven Spielberg. Yet to the enjoyment of many gamers it was a great game that was simple to pick up,addictive and huge. There was so much to do within the game that no one could imagine putting it down for a while. Boom Blox Bash Party is pretty much the same game. It doesn't add a whole lot, but then again, it doesn't really have to. You're more or less getting an expansion of the first game. There are new puzzles and new challenges. It'll feel fresh if it's the first time you've played Boom Blox, but for those who played the first one, they need to know that they're getting an expansion and not really getting a lot of new things.Much like the first game, it's easy to pick up and play. There are still a ton of modes to enjoy here, and a ton of levels to do. Boom Blox Bash Party will keep you busy for a few days. You'll also be surprised to find that it can, and often is, quite challenging. Trying to figure out how to do specific puzzles is actually a treat and can test your abilities. So much so that once you complete a level, you'll probably go back to see if you can do a better job. There are medals to get in every level. You have to get a bronze at the least to move on, but die-hard players will end up playing levels over and over again for the gold. It's very fun and very addictive. If you find yourself getting frustrated with one level, you'll be glad to know that there are so many levels that you'll be able to find something to do easily. There are many of the same tools that come into the fray in Boom Blox Bash Party. The balls that you'll throw at blocks return (and the bombs) and so do many of the other tools like the grab tool and whatnot. Likewise, many of the puzzles have the same objectives as the first game. You might find yourself playing a game where you have to pull blocks out, hoping not to knock over the penalty block (in Jenga like fashion), or you may find yourself having to demolish whole areas using bombs. With the addition of Zero Gravity levels and underwater levels, there's a bit of variety. But as I mentioned earlier, you won't find any of this new if you already played the first game. For newcomers, however, they'll find this to be quite a treat. All of this stuff is done with the Wii Remote. You'll either point, lock on and give a flick of the wrist to throw balls, or you'll have to click and maneuver the Wii Remote to pull out blocks. It's all simple stuff and makes excellent use of the Wii Remote controls. And as I mentioned, it's so easy to pick up on that no one should have any trouble jumping in at all. Boom Blox is accessible to everyone. There's a level creator that people can use to build their own levels as well. It can feel kind of limiting, but you'll be surprised at what you can come up with. You can also share these levels online and download some creations by other players. Then there's multiplayer where you and a few friends can do some of the objectives against each other. Or you can go on a co-op campaign. These are just as fun. Playing against friends is much more fun than playing with them. You'll all have a blast. The original Boom Blox had an interesting artistic style and Bash Party continues it. It might not be the best Wii Game out there, but it's the artistic design that keeps Boom Blox strong in the visuals department. The theme is unchanged and it's kind of fun to see those block characters and the levels. It's very colorful, very smooth and the frame rate is always consistent. The physics are also very really good.Sure enough, the game still sounds great. There are some great tunes and sound effects from the block characters. You just might find yourself enjoying some of the tunes and humming them. It's also nice to see that there is still a sense of humor there as well. The only real big issue with this game is that for those who played and enjoyed the original, you're getting what can virtually be seen as the same game. Which makes that price tag a bit steep when you realize you're basically getting an expansion of what's already been done. It's still an enjoyable game for fans and newcomers alike (though newcomers will like it much more, I'm sure). It's just doesn't do much more than what the original did. However, that's not really such a bad thing. Since it is as simple as the first game and doesn't try so hard to outdo it, it still stands tall. Some who played the first one might even come to enjoy Bash Party much more. It doesn't add a lot but it varies up the experience enough to be a different game all together. The original Boom Blox was a treat. A real addictive and fun game. Bash Party is just as good, just as addictive and just as enjoyable. If you have the first game, give this one a try. If you never played Boom Blox before, then this is a great place to introduce yourself.

In the same way that Nintendo's novel idea of bongos in Donkey Konga was outdone by its imitator- guitar hero- so EA's Boom Blox (for a Nintendo machine)is outdone by Angry Birds. This is a great idea: basically reverse Jenga, but it's sadly overshadowed by the quick, accessible and more famous Angry Birds. It's a game that deserves more recognition than it's received with great physics, a massive array of modes and weapons and a lot of character as well. The 3D access allows for really creative puzzle-solving but it does make it more ponderous than it's compulsive, phone-bound descendent. The imperfections of the Wii remote can frustrate at times too: sometimes you need to perform a precision action but are let down by the remote's inability to translate your movements accurately. It's not a problem in most modes but it's still there on occasion. The ton of modes provide genuine variety with 100+ levels that will keep you going for ages and a level-builder for when you've finally exhausted everything. This is a hidden gem of a game with tons of value and well worth a punt (especially at the sub-£10 price tag)

Boom Blox Bash Party was one of the first games I bought with my Wii and is the only one from that first batch that I still own and play. Its one of the only games that my wife will sit and play (I don't have a chance of ever playing Co-op Halo on my xbox with her) and I play four player competitive modes with friends. It takes about ten minutes to pick up the controls and from there on in no matter how experienced a gamer noone really has a big advantage because everyone knows how things fall over (the games physics are the star of the show). The graphics aren't going to blow you away but they are quite adequate for what you need. This is one of the best alternatives to "Shake and Waggle" party games that seem to dominate the wii market, making it suitable for the more cerebral family member.

Boom Blox: Bash Party has over 400 levels of puzzle destruction to enjoy and the controls are so easy that even my four year old daughter loves playing this game. There are some new blox to enjoy like the Virus Blox which infects other blox around it, when it explodes and sets off a devastating chain reaction. I like the new Slingshot toy which lets you grab a character and fire it into the blox's. There is Co-op play, competitive multiplayer and team multiplayer which are all great fun with friends or family. There are 25 different characters which all behave differently to the environments around them.Bash Party will take you to the depths of the sea and to outer space where the destruction has no limits and the fun is endless!

This game took a while for me to get into. i was wondering why it appeared on a Yahoo! blog about the ten best games we never purchased.I started playing this with my five year old niece who had more fun taking out the seriously weird box shaped characters, but when you realise that this is a puzzle, you are compelled to work out what the method is to the madness. You can use four remotes or share one between the players. Some of the puzzles are like jenga (i haven't played the jenga wii game, i'm referring to the old fashion bricks) and others are like to complete using the minimum number of throws. it is the throws that will get you. warm up before hand, change arms if you can and take a break.

Boom Blox Bash Party is a simple game with good ideas, good background music/sound effects, a level creator, lots of variation in levels and is fairly addictive.I had a few issues with my remotes sensors which would mean the bomb/ball I was trying to throw would just drop on the floor. This was very annoying but was probably a hardware problem. You can also have multiple saves/characters, so it is possible for me and my wife to be playing through the game seperatly at our own pace(we have not tried the mupliplayer yet). This is a great game, especially for the cost.

I bought 2 copies of this game after playing it at a party, one for myself and one for a friend. This is a great game for getting rid of stress by finding ways to break down or destroy blox of all sizes shapes and colours thereby earning points in the collection of gems. Each layer must be unlocked to move up to the next challenge. It is a simple but very ingenious construction and if you connect your Wii console to the internet many more layers of games can be downloaded. Highly recommend for all ages upwards of approximately 3yrs. Great value for money.

This is a fun game for all ages. There is plenty of variety in the different puzzels that you are expected to knock down. They start of easy but keep getting harder, and the little characters are really nice as well. This also gives a good workout for your arms because you are always using your arms in a throwing motion. The first time I played this game, the next day my arm muscles were a little sore. Overall this is an enjoyable fun game that anyone can play.

An entertaining game, enhanced by the capabilities of the wii remote. It probably won't overly appeal to a hardcore gamer, but for people who don't take their gaming too seriously it's good fun and very easy to play. The two player mode is particularly impressive - you can either go head to head or work together to complete the various levels - hours of fun to be had by all the family!

13.9.2010

What else I can say about the game. The game is just great. Some levels are little bit hard to master. But even my 3 year old boy can play it and like it very much.
