My husband and I love Blandy's Duke of Clarence. We always have a glass (or two) of it before dinner, and I was delighted to find it on Amazon at such an excellent price during my month's free trial of Prime. In fact, I shall now continue with Prime, paying for it, mainly because this Madeira is such good value. The only trick is finding out what the limits are when ordering; I was horrified to receive an e-mail saying I was ordering too much, and nowhere could I find out how much was regarded as too much; but a phone call from a very helpful Amazon person, in response to my desperate e-mail, told me that there is a limit of four bottles every seven days. Since this is pretty close to the rate at which we get through it,that's just fine by us! I shall keep on buying it for as long as Amazon keep on selling it.

Covid meant no going away for Christmas so "created" a fictional cruise with something special from our favourite ports of call. This was to remind us of our visits to Madeira and it was SUPERB. Delicious, authentic and great value. Have had to stop ourselves drinking all too quickly. Rationing was worth it and enjoying every second. Blandys are the masters of this beautiful drink and indulging whilst being stuck at home for Christmas was made all the better for its delicious taste and as near as we could get to Madeira. As travel seems so far away will definitely buy again. Maybe for an Easter memory trip. ........ Now whereabouts is the buy again button!!!

I have nothing to compare this to since this is my first bottle of Madeira. What I can say, however, is that it is a very nice drink, (but not neat for me.) I found it much too sweet for my taste, but, I did mix it with Tonic Water the next day, and I was very pleasantly surprised.BUT - I SHALL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN (AMAZON AND HERMES!) I AM OVER 70 AND AM NOT PLAYING YOUR STUPID GAMES OF PROVING THAT I AM OVER 18 AND SIGNING A GRUBBY MACHINE,COVID19 OR NO COVID19!

I’m only an occasional drinker. This wine to me doesn’t taste like wine but pure alcohol I cannot even drink the whole glass. The reason for height review is that I cannot tell you if this is really bad or if I just don’t like it. Toooo alcoholic strong alcohol smell very sweet .... one sip and I had enough.... it will have to go for cooking unfortunately. Sorry if this is unfair tho, you need to try it for yourself to see if you like it

This was my very first inexperienced purchase of 'Madeira'. Fluke'd it!!! Absolutely in love with it!! I've had to hide it from my family members who kept asking for 1 round everyday after trying it post dinner one night. I went away for work for couple of weeks and they left me 30ml of it!! Hmphh!!! I'll be reordering but not in single bottle quantity for sure!! To the makers.... why 75cl why not 1litre? :D

It's worth noting that this product is actually not a Malmsey, as it's made from the Tinta Negra grape as opposed to the Malmsey (or Malvasia) variety. This is the "entry" level wine and is aged for 3 years. That doesn't detract from how pleasant this wine is, but it's not the same as an aged Malmsey and especially unlike a vintage. For more information: http://www.wine-pages.com/features/blandys-madeira.htm

Purchased as a historical taster really, it is mentioned in all sorts of places and I deduced that the flavour would be much the same as during it's early invention and, even if it is not, it is still a very nice drink, taken a little like a Port or a Cream Sherry would be imbibed, very nice and pleasing to the discerning drinker, excellent....

I had never tried madeira, so thought I'd get something different for Christmas. I personally didn't like it, I found it a bit sweet, very much like sherry. However, that's just personal taste. Those in the family that do like Madeira said it was a very nice example and for only £10 how can I complain!

I'm very new to Madeira so can hardly be called an expert but what i have sampled i've been lucky enough to have tried expensive and good quality (Far beyond my budget!). That said, applying my limited and biassed knowledge this is a lovely smooth, rich and aromatic wine. I will definitely but again.

Slightly nicer than an expensive sherry, supprised it's not in supermarkets, not even Waitrose but it is out of fashion to drink a fortified wine I suppose.A bit like elderflower shampaign in the sense that you want to keep drinking it. If you do then it mixes with lemonade well as it's very strong.

This is an excellent Madeira wine and reminds me of the trip I took to the island years ago where I sampled it for the first time. It's a unique taste, a little bit like brandy crossed with a sweet white wine. Even a small sip is incredibly flavorsome and for the price, it's incredible.

I always wanted to try a Madeira wine but hesitated as I thought it would be way beyond my budget as well as my inexperienced palette. Now I know better and wow. I am head over heels in love and it is cheaper than having a man around. Horror - he might want me to share.

This is the second bottle I've ordered so far and will be ordering more. I struggle to find this in shops and at such a good price aswell, my nan really enjoys blandy's and says its much better tasting than what she's had before. Definitely recommend this.

Omg what a delicious sweet but yeah smooth Sherry. It goes down rather well. I love mine with either Ice, just on its own , or with alittle lemonade and ice. Quick delivery great price ?? 2 bottles in 2 days . Going to purchase more for the new year .

I bought this for use in a recipe for a New Year's dinner and I wasn't disappointed - with the recipe or this rich and warm drink. There was plenty left for a glass or two after I'd made the meal, and I'll most definitely be buying Madeira again.
