This is a replacement Blackburn mirror that I had on my bike since 2005 which unfortunately got busted at the pivot joint when my bike got blown over and crashed against the sidewalk in the high winds we had a few weeks ago. Of course I was off the bike at the time and it was on the kick stand when it got blown over. I have the same mirrors on all my other bikes because I found years ago that these Blackburn mirrors had the best viewing and adjust-ability of any other mirrors I had tried previously and once tightened in position the mirror stayed in place better than any other mirrors I had. When I received this new replacement it looked almost the same as the ones I already have with a coupleof minor cosmetic changes to the frame/case but .......I noticed that the size seamed a little longer so I compared it to my other earlier Blackburn's and the mirror glass insert and housing is and appears to be approx. 3/8" longer and it also has a slight but gentle curve to it giving it a more of a wider angle and larger reflective view compared to my earlier ones which was a very welcomed improvement that I can now see a little more to my left and also more towards the rear view which also helped in seeing things, other riders, cars, people in the distance a lot better. I am seriously thinking on replacing the mirrors on my other bikes and keeping the old ones as spares / just in case. So High Five to Blackburn once again Great Mirror !

I would have agreed with others that I have to tweak the mirror periodically during the ride as it somtimes shifts around, other mirrors I've tried seemed to require even more such tweaking. After installing this latest replacement it seems they've tightened it up some. I didn't have to touch it after I got it set comfortably. This mirror has more reach out to the side of the bike that many others don't have. This extra reach allows me to see more road behind me with less of my body in the way of the view. Because it sticks out from the bike, it gets beat up a bit putting the bike in car or garage, setting bike against a building and what not,but it survives all this as it just flips out of position and I flip it back when I'm ready to ride again. Finally here for a replacement only after a pickup buzzed me and took out the mirror. The insert does fit loosely into my handle bars but I've always just wrapped it in some scrap inner tube till I get the size that will fit snug. It appears that Blackburn has recognized this and this latest unit had three layers of rubber inserts around the expanding prongs. Just a matter of peeling them off until I got the size that fit snugly in the bar end.I may find the extra reach of this mirror more important of a feature due to the geometry of riding a Vision recumbent.

Bought one each for my wife's bike and mine. Both are Cannondale Quick models, although her's is a smaller type which I discovered has a smaller diameter handlebar. I had to modify the mechanism that locks inside the handlebar so that it would fit in the smaller diameter (it was only about 1/16th of inch smaller diameter than the other bike), but once done it works perfectly fine. The mirror stays in place and works great. The only caveat is that you have to install and use it correctly. I had read some reviews complaining about the mirror not staying in place. On my first ride I experience the same thing. Then I realized that I hadn't properly tightened the 3 parts of the mirror that keep it in place. The first is pretty obvious: tightening the spread mechanism that secures the mirror within the handle bar. The second was not as intuitive: there is a hex nut that tightens the position of the swivel attached to the part that connects to the handlbar. The third is a ring at the base of the mirror itself that you adjust with your hands to control the position of the mirror. Once I tightened those, no more slipping or vibration issues.Functionally the mirror is working very well. I'm also very impressed with how the installed mirrors look like a natural extension of the bike and not a clunky add-on.

I've had this for a few months now, installed on a hybrid bike I use exclusively for taking my dog out on 2 mile jogs [she jogs ... I ride :-) ].This replaced a different model I also got through Amazon: [Zefal Cyclop Bicycle Mirror], so I'll compare them. This unit installed easily and the nice rubber sleeves made for a secure fit in my bike. It is quite adjustable in several directions [up/down, forward/back and twist], and is easy to get in just the right position. Once there, it does stay in position well unless it gets bumped. The image is nice and clear and does have a gentle convex surface to give you a nice wide undistorted view. The image does seem to bounce and vibrate a bit with road conditions [whereas the Zefal unit seemed a bit more stable]. I think the design of this has a bit of cushioning with it's connection to the bike and this makes for a little image jiggle. My only improvement wish might be if the mirror itself was a tad larger.I liked the Zefal about as much as this, so they are very equivalent items - this unit cost me ~ $10 more than the Zefal. The Zefal was a bit more of a chore to get adjusted and installation was a little more work, but I liked the size of the image a bit more.

I was pleased to find that this mirror also works quite well on drop bars. The one thing mentioned in prior reviews that concerned me was the "wobble" inherent in this mirror. The wobble is only associated with the ball joint portion of the mount, not the 90 degree arm or the expansion tube mount. Easy fix, however... just cut a few dime sized patches out of old inner tube and insert in the cap with the moulded socket. The additional friction between ball and socket works wonders to keep the mirror stable and functioning as it should. Hey Blackburn, why don't you make this part of your kit? What will it add to cost, 2 cents? Good mirror at a reasonable price.Update:Following an accident that took my mirror out of commission,I contacted Blackburn/Easton-Bell Sports to find a replacement part. Without question their customer service is outstanding! They fixed me up promptly and have me back in the saddle. It's rare and very welcome to find such fine customer service these days. Everything else being equal, I will make their products (Blackburn, Bell Helmets, Easton bike components, baseball bats, etc.) my top choice based on this exemplary service.

I'm buying my second one - the first one has worn out after six years of use. I like this one better than others because it sticks out farther so you can see behind you better. It also has a hinge so that when it knocks into something, it doesn't break or fall off... also good for easily moving it to make the bike fit in the trunk better. It's fallen off a lot recently, but I think in the first five years, it fell of once before I really tightened it down (it has a knob that makes it removable by hand, but the knob lines up flush with the arm so when the mirror is extended, it's not noticeable).

I busted my original Blackburn Multi-mirror I had for years...very depressed, and very wary of riding on roads without that great mirror. This one was a replacement, and works as well (and mounts better, using Drop Handlebars or "Ram's Horns") as the original. Now I'm back on the road watching approaching traffic from the rear for drivers' eyes. Are they looking at their thumbs, or watching me and moving over? Now I know. Again! Great mirror.

This is a high-quality mirror, compared to other bicycle mirrors. The image is very clear. The wide-angle curve is a bit too much, which makes objects appear too small, and it is difficult to know how far away things are. Because of the large size, it gets bumped out of position a lot, but it is easily re-adjusted. Overall, a helpful safety item, everyone should have. Better than a mirror mounted to glasses or helmet.

Good product fits any handle bar , you get rubber sleeves to make it fit any size of handle bar tube.Gives great visibility. It does fold in to keep it safe when not in use.Every cyclist should have a mirror it give you great security knowing what's behind you. If your like me getting a bit old it also saves you having to look over your shoulder and going off balance. This mirror looks good on a bike.

it is a good mirror and simple to use but i found it would eventually loosen after many miles and fall off, which while on holiday/touring isn't what you want, it snapped at a weak point after hitting the road, obviously quite an impact, so had to purchase superglue to fix it, but having said that with a few precautions, i would purchase another one.

I have been using this mirror for over a year. I love the adjustability of it. You can get it in exactly the right spot for the best view behind you. I only subtracted one star because it wiggles slightly where it attaches to the handle bar. It has never caused a problem but I make sure it is always tight before I go for a ride.

I use this mirror on a drop bar road bike, and it's great for checking the traffic coming behind you. It's large surface and bar-end mounting make it very easy to just glance down to check the traffic. It is tolerant of vibrations and does not vibrate out of adjustment if it's installed properly. I would definitely buy again.

I bought three of them after trying one for myself on my road bike. Got one for my wife's road bike and one for my mountain bike which I ride predominantly on the roads for a workout. The mirror keeps me from drifting into traffic because I do not have to look over my shoulder to see if cars are behind me.

Superb increase in rear visibility without head turning. Mounts / dismounts in minutes. Very easy to adjust in all dimensions, does not obstruct lateral passing clearance, swings inward 180 against handle grip during bike storage and transport also protecting the glass from scratching and breakage.

I have tried several different mirror types and have decided this mirror is tops for safety optimization via best situational awareness with least forward distraction. Easy solid mount. Durable with unique yoke type pivot. Large field of view. Easy adjustment.
