Releases small amounts of chalk, so look elsewhere if you want more release. Comes loaded with chalk. There aren't much other options for a refillable chalk shot.Bottom Line: Recommended.

Nice chalk shot. Easy to refill and doesn't leak. The calk it comes with is fine and quality like you find in any white gold products. My one complaint is that it is rather difficult to get chalk out of the bag, at least when full. My fingers were barely coated until the bag was half empty when i could squish it around easier to get more chalk out. Overall better than most I've tried and great value since it is refillable.

We have a pseudo crossfit set up in our garage. After some bad blisters on pull ups and kettlebell swings I went hunting for chalk. This guy is perfect for our use. It doesn't make much of a mess and takes up no room. We store it in the industrial zip-lock bag that it came in to keep from leaving chalk puddles wherever we set it down. For more than two people this might not be adequate - but it does the trick for our use.

Works well! I keep it in a cheap sip-lock bag stored in my gym bag so it doesn't get on my clothes, shoes, and other lifting gear. I simply take it out of the bag when I am about to lift and rub the ball into my hands. Sadly my gym just banned the use of chalk.... so that sucks. But I would recommend it! Good chalk quality! It is the right stuff for lifting and will really help you increase your grip strength.

At first, with the chalk ball full, it is difficult to get enough chalk on your hands. But after a week of use it becomes less full and is much easier to get the desired amount onto your hans. You'll also get a little "left-over" spilled chalk in the bottom of your chalk bag which is nice for when you need some chalk in a jiffy (for those tricky places while climbing).

While I'm not a fan of gyms that require such a "sock" for your chalk, Black Diamond's option provides excellent quality chalk and is a great product for an amazing price. I have yet to be disappointed by this sock and look forward to many more gym climbs using it. Again, if you can have loose chalk, do it but if you need a chalk ball, this is the one to get!

Great chalk shot so far, have not had to refill yet, will check back in when I do. Delivers good amount of chalk to hands, if I need more I can always dip in layer that has formed on bottom of my bag - not sure whether this is from bag opening leakage or just general use and squeezing of shot.

It’s fine. The chalk works well and it’s a good brand. The chalk ball keeps the chalk in one place which helps stop the chalk from spilling everywhere. The only con is that the ball starts to feel grimey after awhile and I’m not sure if there is a way to wash and reuse it easily.

If you like the chalk sock, this is great. I’m a little old fashion and prefer loose chalk, but wanted to give it a try. Quality is great, and it’s nice to not worry about spilling you chalk... spilled my loose chalk twice this week.

chalk comes out nicely and doesn't fall out of the netting if not being applied to the hand. All you need to do is just rub it against your palm and it will be lightly covered in chalk. And if you need more, rub more.

I've used many chalk shots in the past but none has quite the same value-for-money as the Black Diamond Chalk Ball. It's easy to use and really dries my hand well for difficult routes.

It arrived in perfect condition, in a pack tailored to various requests for trekking / climbing. All ok, taking only 2/3 more days later than expected. I recommend.

It breaks up just right and feels great when you are climbing. I also like the big blocks you get so you can rub a bit on your hands without getting everywhere.

best chalk I've used so far. It doesn't make a mess like other chalks. I used this in the gym to lift instead of wearing gloves and it got the job done.
