Full disclosure, I haven't climbed with this harness yet. I am 5'11", 32" waist and am on the lean side. After looking over all the questions, reviews, and sizing chart, I had no idea what size to get. So I decided to trust the provided sizing and got a medium. It was waaaaay too small. I could barely get my legs in the loops, even with the straps let all the way out. With the main buckle on the waistband centered in front of my body, the rest of the harness was sitting crooked off to one side - it simply wasn't big enough to sit symmetrically on my waist. I am returning it for a large. I'll update this when I get the right size harness and go climbing!Update: Yep, the large was the way to go.I've been climbing indoors with this harness for over a year now, and it has held up superbly. Especially for beginners, this thing will do everything you need it to do. Looking to do my first outdoor climb soon with it.

Disclaimer: This is my first harness ever, I've only used ones at the gym before, not even a friend's harness.Climbing:Feels great, has a ton of leg stretch and the padding everywhere makes you forget you're even wearing it (maybe that's not good? :P)Belaying:I loosen the leg straps almost all the way and keep the hip strap as tight as possible when belaying and it feels great. I only get slightly uncomfortable if I'm catching a heavier climber and they're not doing so well.Taking fat whips outside:Whipped about 20ft outside from the chains and this bad boy was with me the whole time. Good stuff.Male genitalia comfort:My only real issue here, the leg straps have a way of pressing everything together so an occasional readjustment is necessary.

I'm just the mom of the rock climber in the family, but I'm giving this five stars because, well, it works. He's had it close to a year now and had zero issues. It is a brand that was recommended by his rock climbing coach. He was 12 when I bought it and it just barely fit (as in we had to make it really small to fit him) and he just went through a major growth spurt (like he shot up big time!) and thankfully I did not have to buy another harness. This one just grew along with him, which was the plan. As far as all the fancy and technical stuff of harnesses, I guess it's got it all and it all works well because they do all kinds of stuff in class and the harness is able to handle it all and he's got all the 'stuff'hanging off it.

This is a great beginner's harness. While it's pretty comfortable, I still have some small issues.Pros1.) This harness has great attachment points and equipment loops.2.) It's easy and comfortable to belay in.3.) It has elastic thigh straps on the back of the wearer's legsCons1.) Cant really sit down with the stiff equipment loops2.) You can't stretch for footholds all that well but that doesn't mean much to a starter harness3.) It'll hike up your back on harder routes which will reduce comfort. All in all this is a good starter harness i recomend this one. If you have the option, buy a petzl harness which will help in later climbs that increase in difficulty.

This size XL harness is great. I had been using another one made for women, but it wasn't big enough in the waist. I'm like a size12 on bottom (small legs) and 14/16 on top (bigger waist). They don't make an XL in women's (anywhere!!). I tried this which is really a men's harness, but it's good for me and very comfortable. The belt is JUST big enough for my waist and the smaller legs work well for me. It is a little shorter from legs to waist than a women's harness, but the waist fitting was priority. It's very upsetting that they don't make larger harnesses. Trust me when I say I'm not the biggest girl on the wall. Climbing companies should expand their sizing.

Used this for almost a year. Here it is.Bad:- Nothing reallyGood:- Comfortable - I've climbed for literal days and still have skin on my thighs. It neither rubs nor rips at the skin- Well fitted - One size fits all, adjusts to the thinnest of waists and largest of thighs- Gear loops - It has them. One is even load-bearing. Many many spots to put carabiners and other junk- Compact - Comes with the ability to be magically folded into a small brick-sized cylinder. Very good for moving things around- Light - It's not heavy- It works - I've hung upside down from this thing while hanging 20 feet in the air. Can confirm, am not dead.

It fits great, and it's really comfortable. I was really excited to find it in XXL, since one of the local climbing store didn't carry it in that size and couldn't special order it once I found out Black Diamond made this size. When I finally work off enough weight to buy the next size down, I'll buy this harness in that size, if it is available. The only complaint I have about this harness isn't even worth taking 1 star from. I know this is great harness when it comes to safety, but I still wish I could open it up all the way, and then double back the straps on the buckle.

This harness works great and has a lot of support and padding. Its a lot more comfortable than most of my friends harnesses for sure. During the winter and spring months I was using this pretty regularly at my local gym and now that it's summer I use it for outdoor climbs all the time and it still looks pretty fresh out of the box. (I climb 3-4 times a week) I would recommend this harness to anyone. The color combos also look very cool which is an added bonus for sure. As a sizing reference, I am 6'4 170 lbs and have a 33in waist

I’m no expert but I know a few, and they use the same harness. Works great, got one for the girlfriend as well. We’re safe and comfortable. The harness has all the necessary bits to hang your various bits of kit off. Would buy this again, but I’ll never have to.. as they last. I have friends who climb everyday for many, many years and this harness does the job.Supplier good communication and help when needed a size change after receiptEveryone in above picture is wearing the same harness. All be it different colors and sizes

I purchased the harness primarily for climbing at the local indoor climbing gym. The harness is very easy to put on and very comfortable. The waistbelt buckle and trakFIT adjusters make it very easy to get the harness on quickly for a comfortable fit. I wear a size 36 waist for my pants and decided to purchase the extra large size which fits well. The harness is comfortable for long periods of wear and I haven't noticed any pressure points or discomfort when climbing or being lowered. A really great harness for all around use.

I use this item for indoor climbing but quickly realized I enjoy the hell out of bouldering so i haven't used it as much as I had originally thought but I have used it. As far as getting it on it's pretty simple to use. I have put the leg straps on upside before (so the strap is twisted) but this won't effect the climbing in anyway. The belt strap is just a normal loop and the leg straps are just pull to tighten. The back cushion is awesome and the harness has more than enough loops to hold all your stuff. 5/5 Everytime.

Very comfortable and durable. I use this harness every Monday and it continues to amaze me how comfortable a fit it is. The leg straps are absurdly easy to adjust for when you are inbetween climbs, making walking around much easier without the typical discomfort you get from rented harnesses. I would highly recommend this harness for any aspiring climbers. I'm still fairly new as a climber so I don't how this would hold up in outdoor conditions (I use a rock gym).

First harness so I'm not sure if I am boast here or not but great product. Clbed a tree and suspended with the harness. Seems to hold up great. Only feature that caught my eye was the strap holding the 2 pieces together. The loop is stitched together. And while it works it does make me a little worried. (Could be due to lack of experience) but it is big enough that you can just loop a carabiner around it and use that as a backup. Great product! Is as shown.

Great starting harness. Has enough loops to hold all the gear you need for sport/trad climbing. The best part is that it is never too uncomfortable to wear if hiking to another route or belaying a stubborn partner who thinks they can nail this 5.12. Wonderful harness that I will trust for many years to come. If you are worried about durability, don't be. I have taken countless falls on this bad boy of up to 50 feet and everything is still stitched tightly.

I have been using this harness for a few weeks. So far it has been very comfortable and hasn't had any issues. Everything feels secure and easy to adjust. My only concern are the leg strap adjusters, the main harness clip is metal but these are plastic. Only time will tell if they get put under enough stress to be the weak point.Update: Used this for several months now two or three times a week. Very comfortable, no noticeable wear or broken pieces.
