This does a fabulous job of getting your hair dry. It works very quickly, and in fact you have to be careful not to stay on the same spot for too long otherwise your hair doesn't fly in the breeze so much as get rather crispy. Still, if you are a bit grey of thatch this also does a good job of darkening your hair just before it turns to charcoal. Take care, the scalp is pretty sensitive and the KX2200K box doesn't contain any cream for those times you get enthusiastic. While my wife was bandaging my head I remarked about what a good paint-stripper this would make, since it has a few nozzle/deflectors that are useful not just for hair care, but for stripping paint from window frames without melting the glass, and other useful accessories. There are other accessories you can buy to perform more tasks, the ones here are general-purpose and suffice for me (for example there's a very narrow nozzle for very fine work). It puts out a good lot of heat, but has a very good range of settings that with some practice can give you a decent degree of control. Stripping paint, which was the reason I bought this heat gun, was a bit hit and miss at first, I guess because I was somewhat nervous about overdoing it. I needn't have worried, provided you're careful to keep the heat where it needs to be, and regularly check adjacent areas or surfaces for heat buildup and be prepared to work on a different area now and then, it does a great job. The second task I had for it concerned a stuck tap headgear (valve mechanism) that I hoped I could expand, then freeze, then expand etc while putting oil onto the joins and get it to come loose in order to replace the valve for a ceramic one (Tapmagician do ceramic replacements for traditional taps). This didn't go as well, this time because I was really nervous about the use of heat around things that were either ceramic (the bathroom basin), or with a plated finish very close to the exposed headgear, or with a tiled surface just beyond it. The amount of heat kicked out gets very intense very quickly in confined spaces and in the end I had to give up and call in a plumber instead! While I was a bit sorry that this can't comfortably be used in confined spaces, now I can completely understand why. It's very hot work. It pays to wear gloves while using this, although care is still needed. More than once my gloves have heated up meaning I have had to stop work very quickly to take the gloves off as the burning heat suddenly penetrates to the inside! There's a thermal cutout that could be triggered if you are keeping the heat on too long, and not resting/ventilating the work area might make the gun cut out sooner than otherwise. In my case I gave up before the cutout, err, cut in!I also tried heating a metal sleeve that I was hoping would expand to slip over a second sleeve (they were thin metal) and become tightly together when it cooled. This didn't work since the gun couldn't put out enough heat to uniformly expand the metal - heat eventually radiated away faster than it could be added, and I was really pushing my luck with the thermal cutout feature which would have kiboshed the whole process.I liked the fact that after use it can be stood on end to cool off without scorching any surfaces, although I'd advise being very careful to stop people going near it as it cools, because it takes a while and doesn't give the appearance of being hot even when it is scorching! It's the first tool I've used where I can't just put it away after using it, which is occasionally inconvenient, especially when I have needed to leave the house for a while and have had to leave it outdoors on a paved area just to feel safe!It can also be stood on end in use, giving you the option of working with both hands over a static source of heat, should it ever be necessary. It has done great work on painted surfaces, even those with a couple of thick layers, although stripping off some of the old gloss paint can get pretty unpleasant due to the compounds in the paint. If you can possibly work in a well ventilated place (the outdoors will do nicely) then I'd definitely advise it, although with skirting and architrave you're stuck with the great indoors. I think it is better than sanding, though, since dealing with dust is even worse. The tool itself is simple and seems durable and is certainly built to be tough, it does only one thing - chuck out heat in different ways according to the head attachment you use (these slip over the silver nozzle) - but it does it well. In use, you have to be careful since it is easy to do something you can't undo, and it definitely needs careful handing during and after the job, but it does the job extremely well in my experience.

I have not used this heat gun a great deal, but it has functioned very well the times I have used it. I like the fact it has 2 speeds and a variable temperature control. The flat end provides a firm base on which to stand the heat gun when not in use or when you need both hands free when heating an item. There is an assortment of tools and nozzles provided in the sturdy carry case. The nozzle attachments are not as sturdy as those in my old Black and Decker heat gun but seem to be adequate for the job. If this heat gun lasts as long as my old one I will be well pleased. Recommended for various DIY jobs besides just stripping paint.

Good quality tool for DIY , But the included scrappers are useless are of extremely poor quality as they are made from thin chromed sheet steel hence they bend and distort and come apart when used. The triangle tool included is the worst I have ever come across. The scraper almost as much , with mine the blade of the scraper was moving from side to side and loose from new, I would not recommend using these at all as they will damage your work and increase time need to finish the job in hand... the rest of the nozzle set is fine, good variable heat control on the tool itself. It can be stood on end when hot..

I was very happy with this product. It was more robustly built than I expected and it has performed very well so far ..... in both warming up some plastic that I wanted to re-shape (set on low) .... and on its high setting was very good at paint removal. Good product, which I would thoroughly recommend

This product has a very accurate thermostat making it usable for a wide range of applications. It is light, ergonomically designed, nicely built and stands upright or sideways on a worktop (ideal for cooking). The case is good but the supplied tools are very low quality hence only 4 stars

Black and Decker KX2200KNormally would not send a review but in this instance the service outstanding. The thoughtfulness to prove a European plug adaptor beyond expectation. What is more the machine is working daily and well.

its a hot and solid heat gun, don't use it on small children or pets and you should be fine. Strips paint and shrinks shrink wrap like a goodun with a selection of decent tools included.
