The Bowden cables are cut cleanly without splitting the wires. Other cable cutter models, which are a lot more expensive, have compression profiles to press the ferrule. This model has no special device. I just used the place where the lock is hooked to lock. Works very well and the sleeve sits firmly and securely on the cable end. Highly recommended tool.

Cut 2 outers and 2 gear and 1 brake cables so far no problems.
