This package is a decent cheat system. where you have preloaded (on the disc) cheats for almost everygame. A lot of people think that if you have to cheat at a game then there is no point in trying to play it. But when you got Multi-player games that you have to unlock certain content and you just wanna have a few laughs with your mates as soon as possible what do you do? You use this system to make them available.Not only that, but it has the ability to be updated. using the supplied Memory Card you can store even more codes for the games that have been released after this cheat system.But not only that, it has a Freeloader (just like the GameBoy Player Disc) but this freeloader overrides the region lock-out.

As a Resident Evil game fan, I was looking for a way to have more fun when playing these games. This version of Action Replay allowed me to do that. It has multiple codes for all the RE games (the codes are pre-loaded). My system is PAL, but it has NTSC and PAL codes.To use, you just select the game you want to use the system with, then select the cheats you want to use. In RE4, the two cheats I really wanted was to be able to stop the timer on Mercenaries mode and change character in the main game. This system allows you to stop the timer but not change character (never seen it anywhere though).

The CD itself feels just like a normal GC Disc. It works with a massive library of games with game getting about 10+ codes.Some thing weren't great however. It does come with a case so storing it in a backup unused case is a must in order to not scratch it. You can't put in you own codes like early versions of the software. It only works on version 1 of the GC (DOL-001). And I would invest In a larger memory card as I have the standard official 4mb Nintendo one and it just isn't big enough to store all my game saves and the codes temporarily as you change discs. Overall it's a simple way of completely games without sinking hours of gameplay into games you've already completed before.

I would probably ignore most of the 3star and below reviews on here, yes it's a newer version, no you can't add new cheats and yes it has some compatibility issues... Me personally, worked first time and contains every game I own in the database and has also made me make a "to buy" list of games I forgot about :)... I have given this product 5 stars bbecause it worked on first boot, contained cheats for all the games I wanted, including metal gear solid, skies of arcadia and all the Mario games... I would recommend research before buying as all gamers usually do but I haven't had 1 problem with the cheats and I'm 30 hours in to skies of arcadia AGAIN...

As a European gamer there are two things that can really annoy me about the Gamecube. The first is that being in Europe we always seem to get games last and that there is a huge conversion time between Europe and America. So if a game was released in Japan we wouldn't get it till 6-months later. The second thing is there is no cheat software for Gamecube. The PS2 has lots of cheat software, why can't we.This is why the Action Replay is the best thing to hit the Gamecube. You not only get cheat software to aid you in games. It also allows you to play imports, and without chipping and ruining your warranty. So you can get cheaping games before anyone else who needs to get PAL conversion.

This product is simply what it says. A way to modify Nintendo Gamecube games and make them easier, or even harder.Personally i used the product to unlock characters and items in specific games.The setup is easy. All is required is for you to insert the action replay disc, choose your game and the mods you want to add. Then swap out the action replay disc for your chosen game.Another amazing part is that this disc can be used on the Nintendo Wii also, considering the Wii can also play Gamecube games.The postage was very fast and the item works a charm. Thanks!

This is a cool thing for Gamecube user's it is packed with lots of smashing codes for your games and if you can't find a game that's not on the list then you can add them requires you to go to [...]From there you can update it, I did have some problems other day I clicked on a box for a code to work but when I'am in the game the code did not work for an un-known reason or the game freeze on me.Some codes that are on seem not to work for some games so be aware.Other than that I think this is a great item.

The action replay is a brilliant gamecube sized disk that not only lets you to access completely brilliant cheats (without converting or altering your gamecube) that are not available anywhere else, but also includes a built in freeloader! Which means no waiting around for games to come out months late, and a chance to find out what games japan really get. If you ask me every self respecting gamecube owner should own this incredible piece of software.

I have only used this product on my gamecube due to reading the problems other people have had on using it with a wii. This product has worked every time I have used it weather that's with cheats or using it as a free loader to play import games. My negative points are it apparently does not work with a wii even though it says it does on the packaging and the amount of cheats on the disc its a shame they cant be added.

This is what we have all been waiting for!!The ACTION REPLAY system works by temporarily altering the input output signal reader (i read it somewhere, sounds true) and enables cheats designed unoficially by the ACTION REPLAY designers.Also included is the FREELOADER system which enables you to safely play foreign games on your Gamecube system.The best cheats system i have ever seen.

I have tested it a little, and the codes work perfectly as far as I can see. As many other reviewers state there is no longer any option for adding your own codes, but I'm really not sure that is necessary because of the sheer amount of codes on this disc. No matter what GameCube games you have, you can be sure to find codes for them. Regarding the price it's absolutely worth buying.

Product works as expected and advertised. If you have a gameboy player without the original disc, then the use of this action replay coupled with a cheap chinese SDgecko clone will do just the trick. Although instead of using the original software, you might want to track down gbi instead as it gets a much better image quality out of the games than the original nintendo one.

Action Replay for Gamecube: Great for cheats, however I don't believe there is an option to add new codes onto the disc for games such as WWE Day Of Reckoning 2 for example which is fine. Does what it says and allows infinite ammo, lives, health etc for games on your gamecube. Even comes loaded with import player so you can play japanese and american import games.

I bought this not just because i was bad at certain games, but because it can make the games more enjoyable. It contains cheats for 100's of games (more codes can be added from the web) and these codes can increase life, strength, inventory and also open up hidden levels and items.If you want hidden extras, or if your having trouble, then this is the buy for you.

I ordered from the fulfilled by Amazon option. I was pleasantly surprised to find it had arrived in a re-usable DVD case rather than the blister packaging in the photo. A definite added bonus there. It works great on my DOL-001 gamecube so as far as I can tell this works on older gamecubes just fine seeing as this is the very first variant.
