I had one of these one Christmas as a kid. Mine didn't have a fluorescent yellow option, though, or a funky, fluorescent yellow-tinted body! Each of the colours in the one I tried wrote straight from the pack - no scribbling to start them up.The colours are black, red, blue and fluorescent yellow. The extending of a nib retracts the previously-extended one - just press the corresponding slider at the top. A half-press of any unextended nib's slider simply retracts the currently-extended nib. The conventional colours are as deep as you'd expect from Bic.When I saw the name "Fluo" on the pack I thought, Hmm... implying fluorescent without actually stating it... I wonder if it'll be anything more than just yellow ink..?Actually I'm rather pleased with the yellow; though far too light to be useful for writing in itself, as a highlighter, which I assume is its purpose, it's rather good. You do have to be prepared to do a good scribble all the way up and down the text you're highlighting, so it's a bit more labour-intensive than a felt highlighter, but the result is pretty good. If you normally carry a pen with you, or find youself frequently irritated by not being able to find the highlighter you KNOW was THERE earlier, then I would recommend this clever multi-purpose pen which not only provides the choice of black blue and red, but also a yellow highlighter.

There's no getting away from the unique selling point of this pen - the barrel is as luminous as its shocking yellow ink. It's a cool-looking twist on the familiar multicoloured ballpoint pen.And wow, is that yellow luminous! If you're trying it out in a bright light, you might struggle to make it out at first. But when it settles, it's more glowing than a standard yellow highlighter, to my eye. It isn't *quite* as handy as a highlighter, I think, since it's a thin ballpoint nib, rather than a chunky felt one. But it's great for boxing, underlining and hatching over parts of your notes you want to stand out.As you'd expect from a Bic ballpoint product, the ink flows pretty evenly and smudge-free.I thought the luminous yellow was a bit slower to roll than the other inks, but after a bit of use they all write well.Although it won't quite replace my standard felt highlighter, it's a great product for making your notes pop. Another excellent Bic pen.

I swear by the standard 4-colour (blue, black, red & green) biro that this pen is a variant of. This version is the same only the green has been replaced by fluorescent yellow. As a result, I keep finding myself going to use the green ink and wondering where it has gone - consequently I use both the normal 4-colour pen and this one together. The yellow isn’t a classic broad, “wet” highlighter - it is like fluorescent biro ink (i.e. relatively dry). The highlighting effect is quite subtle. Photo 1 shows it quite well - it is easy not to realise that there is yellow ink in the top right of that photo. The effect is more obvious in photo 2.The fluorescent nib is 1.6 mm wide compared with 1.0 mm for the other three inks. You can see the difference in photo 4. But when you write with them, the difference is not obvious.

I’ve been using Bic 4 Colour pens for as long as I can remember but this is the first fluorescent yellow version I’ve owned. Like all the 4 colour pens I’ve used before, the mechanism is simple and reliable, the inks don’t skip or ‘blob’ which can be so annoying for a biro, they just work and they work for a decent length of time as well. The black, red and blue inks are a decent shade of colour, not insipid like some pens. The fluorescent yellow is bright for a biro colour although it’s more suited to highlighting rather than writing as you may find difficult to make out words on white paper. It adds a new dimension to the standard 4 colour pen and all in all very happy with it. Also,if you're in a long boring meeting then selectively clicking the different colours is strangely satisfying!

This is like many of those multicore retractable pens that you have tried before but this has the advantage of four pens and the novel colour of yellow ink. This holds well in the hand - it doesn't feel too broad and has a good grip. The four colours (red, black, blue and … yellow) all write well, even though the yellow is barely visible on white paper - it is however a really useful colour at times. It takes up so little space and gives you the colours you need that this is a really cool little pen.It also has a hook on the top to thread a chain through to hang around your neck. This is a really good pen that offers great value for money and will offer you so much colour from your pocket.

BIC 4 Colours Fluo Ballpoint Pen Black, Blue, Red and Fluorescent Yellow Ink Colours 1 Pack is another great pen from the BIC range. The added advantage of this pen is the fluorescent yellow which does show up especially if used on dark paper. The pen is comfortable to hold and with the four colours makes this a pen which will cover all situations whatever colour of ink you require.I love how BIC have updated their range of pens and BIC has give their 4 colour ink pens a fresh and modern look. A pen which lasts and one pen which has been sold over the decades. The four colour ink pens have been popular back in the '80s.Happy to recommend.

The 'BIC 4 Colours Fluo Ballpoint Pen Black, Blue, Red and Fluorescent Yellow Ink Colours 1 Pack' is a version of the traditional BIC four colour pen but with standard inks in blue, black and red and the usual green substituted by a thicker fluorescent yellow ink. I was sceptical about the idea of a fluorescent ballpoint ink, but it actually works really well - clearly it's not intended for sweeping across areas to highlight, as with a more 'felt-tip' type of highlighter pen, but it functions well if used for more subtle highlighting. As always, the pens are comfortable to hold, and last a long time.Great product.

My children love the BIC 4 colours pens – they always use them at school and I tend to use them while teaching, as the choice of colours is really useful. Most 4 colour BIC pens have black, blue, red and green ink. This loses the green and replaces it with a thin highlighter, in fluorescent yellow. The highlighter option is not wide enough to go through a word, as you would do with a normal, wide, highlighter. However, it is perfect for underlining, or marking the side of a page; running a line along a paragraph, for example. This is a very useful addition to the BIC 4 colour range and perfect for students.

When I was a kid, I wanted one of these so badly. Or the ones with 10 different inks that the "elite" kids had. I couldn't afford one, I was only a diddy dot and my mum wouldn't buy me one.So imagine, 30 ahem something years old and I get to hold these pens. They are so very shiny now too, not just the boring ones we had back then.Still fond of them and still far superior to any other pen around. I am the envy of all my office with this. It's nice to hold, everyone recognises it and it's ace. Top pen and I never tired of clicking the colours.Ace.

I have relied on BIC 4 colour ballpoints since I was at school (a long time ago!); I've got several in my workbag today. This is a twist on a classic because it replaces the green with a ballpoint highlighter. It isn't as wide as the traditional fibre tip highlighters which is something to be aware of. If you think you'll use the highlighter more than the green, then this is a good option; overall, I can't rate these pens highly enough. They are a design classic and this version comes with a twist.

For £2.52 (Amazon March 2019), you cannot go far wrong with this 4 in 1 retractable, plastic-barrelled pen. Boasting a fluorescent yellow, red, black and blue colours, this is a handy biro to take when on the move. The ink moves freely but is not necessarily the best biro on the market for writing. Whilst it does not blot, neither is the ink too ‘full on’: you can still see white where the ink should have inscribed. (See photo)Nevertheless, this is a useful piece of office stationery.

I’ve been using these four-colour pens for a while now. In my youth they used to be quite chunky but they’ve slimmed down the barrel making it much more comfortable to write with. This pen has a fluorescent yellow option replacing the green that usually features. I’m some ways I wish they’d chosen fluorescent green or pink because it shows up better than yellow, but this is still handy.Write and flow is good, recommended.

I'm always happy with these pens and this would get four stars except for the fact that it wasn't supplied in a packet as pictured. No big thing surely! EXCEPT for the fact that because of this it had a sticky label with the barcode on the pen, which won't come off!! Who wants to hold a pen with a sticky mess on it. I've now got to spend ages trying to get it off and probably scratching the plastic in the process.

I wanted to check out this new 'Fluo' pen which is absolutely fantastic! The pen replaces the colour green with a yellow highlighter which is very convenient for when a highlighter is needed although it is only 1.6mm which would be like a very thick pen which is why I would consider it as a pen/highlighter nevertheless this pen retains the norm for BIC pens. Absolutely fantastic this pen is!

Great idea: 4 colours in one pen, with one of them being a neon yellow highlighter. The black, blue, red are standard biro nibs, the highlighter is slightly wider so is especially good for underlining and marking-up. The pen looks funky, too, with its transparent barrel. Great for students, ideal in lectures, meetings, or anytime you're taking or annotating notes or documents.
