At around double the price of a standard bottle of Gordons London Gin this No. 3 by Berry Bros & Rudd should offer something a little extra. The strength is a good starting point at 46% rather than the usual 37.5% ABV, so it will certainly give a good alcohol kick. The presentation is very special, with an embossed key on the front of the bottle with No.3 St, James’s street lettering printed on it. This refers to the address of Berry Bros & Rudd premises in London. It’s worth noting that it is distilled and bottled in Holland, whereas Gordons, the biggest selling brand, is British produced (London, then Essex and now Fife Scotland). The No.3 is distilled to a propriety recipe of Berry Bros. & Rudd,London’s oldest wine and spirit merchant, so it does reclaim some British, and London, heritage by that route. The recipe is traditional London gin, with three fruits and three spices and on tasting it has all the dry crispness juniper flavour expected of a London gin. It’s strong, the high alcohol content ensures that, and its best mixed in my opinion with tonic water but personal tastes will differ. Is it worth the money? For the presentation and extra strength alone I would say yes.

I am by no means a connoisseur of gin, being more of an occasional sampler. Having seen the "starring role" which Berry Brothers and Rudd enjoyed in the recent "Kingsman; The Golden Circle" movie, I was keen to try this for myself. I found it to be very pleasant to the taste. It is immediately apparent that this is not a run-of-the-mill gin, as it has none of the watery, perfumed taste which spoils so many cheaper brands.I can't comment on whether this has a taste of juniper about it, as I have no idea what juniper tastes like. There is quite a citrus taste to it, and there is no unpleasant aftertaste, which can rather sour many drinks with higher alcohol content.I didn't drink enough of it to really notice the high alcohol content, and neither did my two companions, both of whom enjoyed the drink, and both of whom are more familiar with gin than I am.Despite the emphasis on "London" in the packaging (very nice bottle, by the way), it is actually distilled in Holland, so if you insist upon British gin, this may not be for you.It hasn't converted me into a full-time gin drinker, but I did enjoy it, and I would certainly buy a bottle of this, if I was in the market for some gin.

This is a top gin. There's no nonsense about artisanal processes or magic botanicals, just competent manufacturing in Holland -- where they know a thing or two about gin. The product is branded for Berry Bros and Rudd, and comes in a luxurious looking bottle. If you are thinking of buying this as a present, don't hesitate. Any gin-lover would love this. The initial aroma and taste of the neat spirit is juniper, as it should be. The strength is above average at 46%. The test? Dry Martini, of course, and the recipe for that comes attached to the bottle. Lotsa gin, just a teaspoonful of Vermouth (Noilly Prat). Terrific, Then G&T with Schweppes and a drop of Angostura was lovely, and the strong flavour and high alcohol really helps counter the sweetness of Schweppes tonic. This is going to be good in cocktails, too, although I fear the taste will be wasted against the sort of liqueurs and fruity stuff that gets into cocktails. BBR suggested a Negroni, and that was a success. We are drinking gin here that is clearly superior to your bog standard Gordons or some sour supermarket own-brand. When this bottle's empty, I'm getting another one!

I'm giving five stars on the strength of this gin's taste and its alcoholic strength. I think whether a product is worth its asking price is up to the individual, and, in part, my belief is that Amazon's pricing is always keen so, on that basis, I think this is likely to be fairly priced. My benchmark with gins is whether they pass my Beefeater taste test (with tonics my benchmark is Schweppes). Beefeater is my life-long favourite and, along with Gordon's, are two similar tasting gins. Gordon's, sadly, was weakened to 37% a few years ago when duty was increased, and, for me, that lessened its quality. Beefeater stood its ground and remained at 40%, much to its credit. This "Number 3 London Dry" gin is 46% - wow!The extra alcohol, along with its more aromatic recipe means - at least when making a G&T - that it requires less gin to make a drink with the required "kick". And in a G&T, this drink is very nice indeed. If I received this as a present at Christmas, I'd be very happy!

This is a great gin which works equally well sipping as in a classic G & T. It's a lovely looking bottle, with the classic Berry Bros & Rudd 'key' displayed on the bottle. Whilst a London gin, this is in fact distilled in Holland (where many of the top gins are).Whilst many gins have a rather complex pallet because of a number of different botanicals, this gin contains only three fruits and three spices. This allows the flavours to be each rather distinctive, the citrus shining through when mixed with a good quality tonic. I'll certainly be grabbing another bottle. This arrived on the same day that I saw the recently new Kingsman film, and was surprised to see the drink in the film (making a classic gin martini).A quick Google led me to the No 3 website where I found a limited edition 'Kingsman' gin, which at a stronger 49% abv is an even better gin.

I am by no means an expert in Gin, in fact I have only quite recently been introduced to what are considered ‘better’ Gins. With such a huge selection and the seeming boom in the market, knowing what to go for is a bit of a lottery. I have tended to stick to Hendricks & Brokers, both of which I enjoy. I was lucky to be offered this No. 3 for review & can only compare against what I know. The No. 3 is slightly stronger at 46%, but with the same tonic, I found to be a nice smooth, crisp & refreshing long drink. I definitely get hints of the Citrus notes, not so much the cardomen or spices, but very pleasant & I’m sure would satisfy any Gin drinker. It is equally as good to my palate as my usual tipple. The presentation with the embossed bottle and key emblem also gives the product that premium look, so would also make a great gift.

Firstly the bottle comes very well packed, wrapped in strong brown paper in a thick walled bottle box, inside another thick walled bottle box, with that box inside a shipping box filled with paper. It's a good looking bottle with a metal key with the ”3” logo embossed into the front; the ”3” refers not only to the address of Berry brothers and Rudd, but also the 3 fruits and 3 spices, juniper, Spanish orange peel, grapefruit peel, angelica root, coriander and cardamon, used in the production. It is produced in small copper pots in the Netherlands for Berry brothers and Rudd. Pouring some into a glass and smelling the beautiful floral aroma tells you that this in no ordinary gin and tasting proves it,it lifts a gin and tonic to a new level. A classic.

My first opinion was wow what a great looking bottle and packaging. It looks impressive from the start. On opening the bottle up and pouring a drink it got even better. The strong smell of juniper berries was fantastic. Really smelled impressive. The gin is very clear and tasted very dry and clean.Very palatable. I am normally a whisky drinker but found this really nice and different. It was good on the palate and tasted like a quality gin. It was also gentle on my throat and stomach.I've enjoyed it with tonic water and lemon and its gone down a treat.Number 3 Gin would make a good present for the Gin connoisseurs and amateur spirit drink lovers.I would certainly consider stocking up on this for Christmas.Very impressed.

Gin has become incredibly trendy again with lots of bars now stocking many different varieties but what is it.. Gin is basically vodka flavoured with botanicals. What are botanicals – well in this particular gin there are juniper berries, orange peel, grapefruit peel, coriander, cardamom pods and angelica root all combine to make this quality gin. This particular Gin is known as London Dry which is the most popular style of Gin and is very crisp and fresh with a piney citrus smell. If you are looking to purchase a bottle of Gin as a gift, you can’t go wrong with No3, it would make the perfect choice as a present for anyone who loves their Gin.Tip - Try this with Fever-Tree Indian tonic water –so nice.

I do like a gin and tonic occasionally, so was very pleased to try this Number 3 London Dry Gin. I have to say I hadn't heard of the brand before, but the bottle itself is very impressive, dark green, with a key on the front which appealed to me. The gin itself is extremely aromatic, crisp and sharp, perfect for a very refreshing gin and tonic. Gin does seem to be becoming very popular at the moment, and this gin is very strong and fragrant. There is no sour aftertaste, which is a bonus, and whilst this brand is quite expensive, I think that it is proof that you get what you pay for - quality! I am happy to recommend this product, and have to say that everyone who has tried it,has really liked it.

First impressions – well packaged (being Amazon it’s over-packaged, of course), and well presented. It comes in a very smart bottle with an embossed key logo, and a little folding label attached with tasting notes and recipes. The neat spirit is smooth – surprisingly so, given the high alcohol content – smooth enough to drink neat. It tastes of juniper (as a gin should), with a slight but not overpowering hint of citrus, and is not too dry. Mixed with a little vermouth, it makes a delicious dry martini.Given the quality of this gin and its high alcohol content, I feel that the price of £28 for a 70cl bottle is very reasonable. Highly recommended as a gift any gin-lover would appreciate.

Whilst I cannot confess to being a gin connoisseur, being more of a red wine, single malt whisky and real ale man, I am sitting here, typing this, whilst thoroughly enjoying the G & T I've just made myself. Even diluted 3-1 with tonic, the alcoholic strength of this 46% gin comes through, but it is the exceptional dryness and the sheer aromatic, botanical blast that makes this such a superb gin.Maybe its very sophistication is wasted a bit on me but, all I can say, is that I like it very much indeed!Comes in a stylish bottle with a big embossed key on the front and a leaflet with tasting notes and cocktail recipes.

There is, perhaps, not all that much one can usefully say about a bottle of gin, except that this is a traditional one, aromatic and herby but not strongly flavoured like some of the new ones. It has orange peel, apparently, but I couldn't detect citrus myself. It's £28, which is dearer than some reputable brands, and not being a fanatical gin drinker myself I can probably not appreciate much difference for the extra, though an aficionado might. The bottle is rather handsome and it came excellently well packaged: I had some worries as to whether it'd break en route but there was never a chance of that.

This is a really well made gin, it is very dry and has really pronounced botanical flavours which will make it a perfect partner for cocktails. The alcohol is strong too at 46% so it does have a kick to it, but gin is predominantly a mixing drink so it is sensible to have a nice amount of alcohol. The bottle is lovely too, it has a cork stopper and a nice metal key embossed on the front of the bottle so it looks the part in a drinks cabinet.Berry Bros have hit the spot here I think, but so they should, they've been in the business for centuries and know what they're doing.

As gin goes this is fine, ticks all the boxes, it's just missing something which would warrant the £30+ price tag. I would put this in the same league as Gordons, fine but nothing special. We recenly tried the Aldi gin and it is as good as this but a fraction of the price. In this price range I would go for a Bombay Sapphire or Hendricks any day.If you were going to mix it with a flavoured tonic then this would be good, it always seem a waste to me mask a good gin with another flavour.4 stars because it tastes fine, not 5 stars because of the price.
