I purchased these to replace my pair of Karrimors (£50) which were supposed to be waterproof, but split and began to leak after just a few months. Having decided to go for something more expensive, in the hope of ‘you pay for what you get’ I purchased this pair of Berghaus. It’s fair to say I’m over the moon with them. I walk my dog twice a day in them over the fields. They are super comfy, haven’t had one blister, which is very unusual given I usually get blisters with new walking boots. They open up so it’s easy to get them on and off, and have some excellent support for your ankles if you’re going over some uneasy terrain. I haven’t had one leak, even when walking through puddles and long wet grass. They’re extremely warm (although I haven’t worn them in cold weather yet), and fit nicely. A lot of comments saying buy a size up, but I haven’t had this issue, although if you wear thick socks or more than one pair then you may want to go a size up.They also look really good, even though I imagine for most people walking boots are not a fashion statement, but they do look nice. Great tread aswell.Overall, I couldn’t recommend this product enough. Do not bother buying a cheap pair, but a decent set, you won’t regret it!

These are a really beautiful pair of boots.I use them every day when walking the dog and whatever the time of year the grass is always wet in the early morning but now my feet stay dry - the first pair of boots or shoes I have had where I can say this. They are exceptionally easy to get on and off because the top 3 rows of cleats are just open hooks so the laces slip in and out easily.I got size 11.5 and it may be the first time in my life I have boots that fit well since half sizes are a bit rare. There's no need to order anything other than your normal size, they will fit. They are extremely comfortable, it's tempting to keep them on in the house as they are more comfortable than my slippers. Finally I can drive in them so I can put them on in the house, drive to the local common, walk the mutt then drive home in them, so much better than trying to change boots while standing on one leg on wet grass!Overall I am delighted and hope they will wear well.

A good all round boot. Comfortable, waterproof and supportive. Leather seems to be good quality, doesn’t soak up too much water and dries out quickly.I found the fit to be generous, so added a 3mm volume reducer insole and still have space for thick walking socks. They aren’t the sort of snug foot hugging fit you get with a pair of Salamons or similar, more of a traditional fit.Only downsides so far are the low cut heel and the lack of rubber protection over the toes. You need to be a bit careful crossing stream otherwise it’s easy to get water into them. Walking in rocky terrain quickly scuffs up for toe box.I’d describe them as a decent year round hill walking boot, but less suitable for use in the mountains particularly if you’ve got stream crossing or wet ground to cross.

I bought these boots as they are British (quality) and they were the only ones that had memory foam on the ankle and the inside of the tongue. (they mould perfectly due to this) Also I recommend you fit a decent memory foam orthotic Insole to experience ultimate comfort remembering to remove the original insole. The leather is quite stiff so what is needed in a walking boot; however it may help reduce the wearing in process if you use some dubbin on the front crease where the boot flexes as I did.The only downside of this boot is the laces which in my opinion are way too short 150cm, so i have replaced them with bright orange 170cm ones which are better to hold the tension as you do them up.

I bought there to replace a pair of Fellmasters that were wearing out. The Hillmaster is a stiffer boot and feels a bit strange at first after the softer Fellmaster, but walk around for five minutes and they're just fine. Out on the hills I noticed a big difference. The sturdy Vibram soles deal with any terrain and the upper provides plenty of support. It's a good idea to order at least half a size up from your normal fit, especially if you have wide feet, but you won't be sorry - this has to be the best three-season hillwalking boot in its price range.

The boots were on an offer too good to be missed. I am normally a size 7 to7 1/2 in shoe size. The boots are size 8, which I feel is just right, as, when walking distances, my feet swell slightly. I haven't wore them outside yet, as I want to make sure all is okay, width fit wise. I wear two pair of socks when wearing boots, (heavier walking and lighter inner). These boots seem to be fitting great. I will treat them first with 'rain and stain protector spray' before wearing them outside. They look good, and hopefully will wear well, time will only tell.

Berghaus have managed to retain the slipper-like comfort of the old Brasher Hillmasters that these boots have replaced. These new Berghaus Hillmaster II boots have an upgraded Vibram sole, feel a wee bit more robust, and require no ‘Break-in’ period.... they are very comfy n’ cosy straight out of the box. My son and I both bought a pair recently, and we are both delighted with them.... in rain, wind and sun... track, bog and hill.Great, fully waterproof boots for Hiking, backpacking and Munros.

I have had these on straight out of the box and done 20 miles over very wet and rough terrain. They are extremely comfortable all around the foot, no tight points, no blisters, more to the point, completely watertight as advertised. Now on day 5 with more of the same, still like new.In comparison with more expensive boots, these are a winner, I will buy nothing else.I have wide feet, these were the best out of all I have used.Go for it if you need new reliable boots.

Bought these for a trip to Asia in 2019. They coped effortlessly with the miles of walking through Japan, South Koea, China, New Zealand, Vanuatu and Fiji. Couple of years on they are still going strong, no significant ware to soles and leather still in pristine condition. Just wax regularly (as you should anyway). I see no reason why these won't last for a good number of years to come. Don't hesitate to purchase. Worth every penny.

Great pair of boots, I used them during my walks in Peak District and I did not get wet at all, no blister, nothing whatsoever.I had to replace them at first as the UK 10.5 was too small for my feet, despite being my usual size. They external layer is great in protecting you from water and mud, I walked through few water streams without issues at all, also thanks to the thick sole. Also it is easy to clean, even on the sole.

Fantastic boots. Love the Vibram soles (they really do almost "stick" to the ground). The boots took some time to wear-in and I got a few blisters - but worth it as they are now the best boots I have ever owned. Water tight, warm and supportive. I use a hose and a weekly dose of dubbin to keep them in shape. I hope these boots will last me a long time - expecting at least 5 and hopefully 10 years (I walk almost every day).

When I ordered the boots I was concerned re the correct size as some comments were rather off putting. My present boots are Brasher size 8, so that's what I ordered. When they arrived they fitted like a glove, or should I say "boot". Initial trial walk around the park, about a mile had no ill effects. p.s. didn't know that, but glad, Brasher and Berghaus have combined and they are both British companies!

Excellent boots. Very comfortable and quick to wear in. Watertight. Sizing appears accurate - I measured my feet to get exact shoe size and the fit was spot onUpdate after 4 month’s use - I have now used these boots almost daily for 4 months and have walked well over 300 miles in them. They remain very comfortable and watertight and show very little signs of wear and tear. Very pleased with them.

Seemed quite tight at first , but remedied by loosely lacing up. form of the boot itself is fine. Have only been using for 8 months but have worn them on some long walks in varied terrain and conditions. They stand up to all conditions and stay comfortable, with only minimal sweat build up. A little bit on the heavy side, but its a fair trade off for solid leather boots with good ankle support.

I bought these boots in the Black Friday deals for £72 which I thought was a great price. It’s more than I’ve ever paid for any other boots.I’ve used them over the last few days walking my dogs down by the river and through woodland areas. Very comfy and waterproof. Hoping they’ll last many years not like my previous ones which seeped water in after a couple of months!
