I’ve been a fan of Ben & Anna for a while having spent many years looking for a deodorant without aluminium that actually works. It’s a tricky one because although it’s fairly easy to find a deodorant without as many dodgy ingredients it can be a bit of a concern environmentally when you’re having to wash all of your clothes after only a very short period of wear.Pitrok is okay but not amazing; Bionsen you may as well not bother putting on; Neal’s Yard is pretty good but not excellent, but with all of those brands you have be quite mindful about whether you’ve started smelling of sweat and more often than not items of clothing have to be washed after only a few hours of wearing them - not agreat water-saving solution.I won’t harp on too much but Ben & Anna works just as well as the aerosol 24-hour guaranteed dry brands out there and in fact I’d say even better. I recently went away for a few days and the bedroom was so cold that I spent three days and three nights in the same long-sleeved top, applying this deodorant every morning. I was expecting to absolutely honk but there wasn’t a trace of BO and, at a push, I probably could have managed another day in the same top (it was a really cold bedroom!).The Nordic timber scented variety is particularly lovely. The vanilla and lime versions are also very nice but this one has a slightly stronger smell which I think adds to its effectiveness. This particular scent, I consider, is neither feminine nor masculine so could be used by anyone. My one slight quibble would be that it is quite pricey for what is a fairly skinny cardboard tube; however the 60g in this is the same amount as in the plastic containers and anything that lowers plastic use is a good thing. It doesn’t last quite as long as the generic aerosols but it lasts for long enough that you don’t feel ripped off. Healthy and ecologically sound options are rarely the cheapest option, after all.Right, that’s my essay done! If you’ve skipped through the above all you need to know is that I highly recommend this deodorant and haven’t been incentivised to write this review.

Just wow !! I purchase items from Amazon atleast 3 times a week, very rare that I will actually rate something I have purchased.. but this product is just so damn good I have to review it..Product arrived this morning, early enough in the day so I applied before going to the gym. Got back from the gym just now - my underarms actually smell amazing !! With being at the gym, obviously sweating hard as I was there for 75 minutes. Mate dropped me back home - she said before I got out the car - "What's that smell on you today, totally different from your usual smell".. to which I replied it's a new deodrant from Amazon. The fragrance of this product is obviously noticeable, which is really good considering I was a sweat covered mess. Just about to go shower - cannot wait to reapply this product. About to order a couple more sticks before I shower !! Totally plastic free too (the reason for me buying this product was because of the plastic free packaging but the outcome is I'm absolutely amazed by the product)

This review if for Provence (the lavender scented one)This has a lovely natural smell and is easy to apply. I tested it out by applying pre-parkrun and I finished the run in a haze of lavender. If I am less active, which i generally am then the scent is much more subtle. It seems to be a pretty effective deoderant. It arrived without any plastic packaging too. The tube and cover are entirly made of cardboard and as you use you just push up from the bottom. One slight flaw in the design is that the covering tube is a very snug fit, so if you have the deoderant stick pushed slightly above the top of the inner tube (as you must for application), then it will not sit propery closed for storage, you either have to push the stick down every time or leave it not properly closed. It is not a big problem but it would be easily solved if the inner tube were just a little shorter.Other than that - no issues - I will buy this again, I shall probably try a few differnet scents

I've been using this daily for six weeks and still have a couple of weeks left in the tube I think. The Nordic Timber smell is nice but doesn't last all day. It's much kinder on the skin than the roll-ons I used to use that would leave my skin dry and flaky. It has been very good at preventing odour and lasts at least 24 hrs with an hour of cycle commuting (in winter, summer may be a different story!). I have had a couple of occasions where I've had wetness but that may be because I missed a spot, odour was still prevented on these occasions. Also doesn't stick to shirts and go crusty so that's a bonus! You do need to warm it up a little bit as it's a bit flaky/powdery when cold, soon warms up on your skin though. I had low expectations of this type of deodorant but it's surprised me so far and will buy again. I just wish the price was a little lower as I'm used to paying £1-2 for a roll-on, but am willing to pay a little more to support plastic free products.

Love this stuff, will never go back to shop bought standard stuff by choice. I never get BO with this, and if you hold it to your skin for a few seconds before using it warms it up enough to smear on without needing to use your fingers. If you use too much, it will flake off so just use a bit less. The vanilla and orchid one is my favourite flavour - I tried persian lime but found it a bit acidic smelling for my liking, and tried the grapefruit one which was nice but not topped the vanilla orchid for me. One issue that brought it down a star for me is sometimes the packaging isn't fully functional. The persian lime I had kept slipping down in the tube so I had to push something inside it to make it stay up and the grapefruit one I had I couldn't get out the tube until I gauged all around it with a knife, and even then it was incredibly stiff. BUT, would definitely recommend to anyone and have already convinced 2 mates to give it a go.

After much googling, I finally settled on this for my first plastic free deodorant - and so far, so good! The packaging looks lovely and the deodorant smells lovely. More importantly, it works!!! I’ve used it during the hottest periods of the year and it has left me smell free and bone dry. Very happy! (I used to use Mitchum).Only negatives - the tubes are not big and the amount of deodorant inside each is not much. I’ve bought the mandarin one too and both seemed to be only half to three quarters full, and for almost £10, that’s a disappointment. The other negative is that the top of the cardboard tube gets caked in deodorant and then breaks down. It’s not the most robust packaging. Will I continue to use?Yes for now!!! However if I was on a tighter budget, I would need to think very carefully about it. Sustainability should not be just for the middle classes - I just wish these products were more affordable.

This is my second time buying this product. I spent a long time researching alternatives to plastic packaged deodorant and settled on this one, in spite of baulking initially at the price. The scent is really lovely but the packaging design wasn't great (difficult to get the cover back on without catching product and wasting some each time smearing it down the sides of the tube. I still want to avoid plastic where I can though, so decided that on balance it still beats the alternative and replaced it when the first tube was finished. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the tube design has been much improved in the interim and the price has come down markedly too! Win win and I'm delighted with it in every way now!It does crumble a little if applied too cold, but I find just holding it against skin for a 30 seconds or so is enough to warm it so it applies effectively (if the room is very cold).

After trying to move away from dodgy substances in most anti-perspirants, this is the best of all the soda ones I've tried. It doesn't work as well as popular anti-perspirants, but it does work much better than not using one at all, and I've come to the conclusion that trying to prevent all sweat is probably not doing the body much good! I love the plastic free packaging and it smells amazing. Not so keen on the mess it makes on my carpet as bits flake off, and it's hard to use when it gets to the end, so I had to take it out of the cardboard tube and rub the last bit on, which got a bit messy! Otherwise the last bit vanishes into the tube as you press it to the skin, so it becomes impossible. There's no perfect solution out there but as I wanted a natural deodorant with no plastic packaging, this is pretty good and I've bought a second one.

I used this every day & my deodorant stick lasted over 6 months, which is much more than the liquid roll-on that I used to use.I can imagine if you had very sensitive skin then this might not be the best for you since you need to rub it on, rather than roll it on (again which is the usual mass-market liquid alternative). However, if you follow the instructions and have time, you hold it in your armpit for a moment before putting it on & it softens the head of the deodorant to roll on easier (or do it straight after a hot shower!).I have relied on this deodorant for work throughout the day and gym in the evenings & never had an issue with the deodorant wearing off (i.e.didn't get B.O.).I've noticed a couple of reviews saying that the tube is 3/4 full when it arrives; so what? It lasts for ages and is made of cardboard!

I’ve tried the vanilla and pink grapefruit versions and now have mixed opinion. Love the vanilla, great smell, works really well coping with hiking and gym sweating, goes on easily; only drawback is my fingers aren’t long enough to push it all the way up the tube and I have to use a pen (maybe perforation half way down so you can tear off the upper half when you’ve used a lot?). The pink grapefruit, although I love the smell, the consistency is so crumbly and hard that it doesn’t spread well meaning poor coverage and has actually broken into chunks making it unusable. Will go back to vanilla and stick with that. Overall great product and will continue using, but if you’re trying for the first time, don’t dismiss all of the deodorant range based on one scent.

In my attempts to go Zero Waste/Plastic-free, I'm trying Ben & Anna's deodorant. In the past I've used Vichy 48hrs & 72hrs, as well as Triple Dry 72hrs. I was thrilled to receive this as it's also come in Plastic-free packaging (you'd be surprised at how many companies get this horribly wrong). The idea that every piece of plastic I've ever used is still out there somewhere (forever) fills me with such sadness (only 10% of our plastic ever gets recycled - look it up - and even then, it's still here!)... but making a change now and knowing I'll contribute less going forward is really exciting. Thanks so much.Quality-wise, the deodorant looks really well designed and super cute.I'll update this when I've had a chance to use it over a long period.

Great deodorant, but the container breaks down quickly. Would prefer this in a tin where you scoop a pea size amount and apply vs a paper tube that starts peeling/tearing shortly after beginning to use. But when it comes to natural deodorants that work, this one fits the bill. The scent isn't strong, the ingredients don't cause me hives, and I can make it through the day without becoming smelly. I have MCS and used Schmidt's fragrance free in the US. I've tried a number of brands since moving to the UK and this is the first that works and doesn't have lavender (which is a sensitiser and I'm allergic to). It's expensive given the packaging breaks down, but I will still buy this again.

I have been using this for about a year now. It is amazing, especially considering it is all natural. I have never found another natural deodorant that works but this is actually better than conventional deodorants. The only thing I don't like about this deodorant is the packaging. It looks lovely and it's great that it's cardboard but once you get near the end of the stick it is impossible to get your finger all the way into the tube to push the rest out. I end up having to either waste it or pick it out with my fingers which is annoying. At this price I think you should be able to use the entire deodorant without doing this. They need to make the tube a little shorter.

Having recently decided to cut down on plastic use I have been looking for alternatives. As this had such good reviews I thought I’d give it a try. I am now a fan. When it arrived I did wonder if I’d made a mistake as it is a lot more than I would normally spend on deodorant. I am happy to say that I hadn’t this is such a lovely product. It lasts all day with just one application. It has a soap like consistency so is a little hard. I find it easier to apply to dry skin. It doesn’t take long to get the hand of the push up cardboard tube and I love that it is plastic free. It also came in cardboard packaging which was a relief. Would highly recommend.

I love this deodorant, it takes a little getting used to at first, a little goes a long way and I find it helps if you hold it on your skin for a moment before rubbing but then it goes on great, works brilliantly all day, smells delicious and of course no plastic waste or nasty chemicals on your skin! My first one lasted me 6 months so even though it's a little more expensive I would say it lasts at least as long if not longer than a regular deodorant and so much nicer to use and better for your skin (and the environment!) Also I have sensitive skin but had no problem with this.
