0.9m / 3ft version reviewed and shown in the video. You plug the lightning socket side into an iPhone and the 3.5mm side into a music player. Sound from the iPhone then plays out loud through the music player. Presumably the sound quality is a notch better through the lightning socket as it’s more direct from the source; but you’d have to have remarkable hearing to tell the difference between a lightning socket and a 3.5mm headphone socket. So technically it works and does the job as desired. 5 out of 5 stars.I’ll leave it up to you to decide if it’s worth the current price to buy this wire.If you have an iPhone with a headphone socket then be aware that a 3.5mm to 3.5mm wire can be bought very cheaply. The sound quality difference will probably not be noticeably different.A note about watching the video: the lightning socket plays quieter than the 3.5mm to 3.5mm wire so don’t assume the second piece of music (Lush) sounds better than the quieter earlier music (Suzanne Vega).

Users of the iPhone since the introduction of the iPhone 7 will know that Apple have removed the headphone jack and have forced the use of the lightning connector instead. Whilst this is not (in my view) particularly ideal, many people still enjoy using the iPhone and accordingly, the only realistic solution is to purchase yet another cable to connect your iPhone to your headphones, portable speaker etc (unless your devices have wireless or Bluetooth capabilities). The cable itself is of good quality, as are the majority of the Belkin products I have used however, I do wonder about its value for money. At £24.99 (current prices), this seems excessively expensive, considering that an equivalent cable could be purchased for less than £10. You might think that a cheaper cable would have worse sound quality however, many tests have shown this not to be the case.Accordingly, this cable is worth considering but if you are on a tight budget, cheaper cables will be available.

Belkin make great phone accessories and I have bought heaps of Belkin products in the past and never been disappointed. I got the 1.8m (6 ft) lightning to audio cable adapter which is handy for a number of applications. I have tested with my headphones which have a detachable audio cable so this means I don't have to use the original audio cable and the fiddly apple adapter which I keep losing. Also handy for my car which can only connect to one phone via Bluetooth at once so it's usually connected to my work phone for business calls. This means I cant use my home phone to play music wirelessly and this cable gets around that by plugging into the aux in jack. The cable comes in two lengths but I found that the longer one is better for the car. Loses a star because its quite pricey for what it is. But otherwise works great!

Q. Do you have an Apple product and still want to interact with the rest of the tech world?A. Maybe, but I am really bedded in now with Apple so what can the rest of the tech world give me that I can't get with Apple?Q. Ok, but would you like to plug your phone into an AUX headphone jack?A. Oh! Yes I forgot about that, I really would like to do that because man it can be annoying trying to rely on bluetooth or airplay sometimes!Belkin make good quality products, this lead converts your lighting port to a 3.5mm audio jack. This will make plugging into AUX and headphone sockets possible. It is over priced hence it being 4 stars, but you are buying a branded product in a world of Amazon Marketplace rubbish so this will be well made.Top tip: try to buy direct from Amazon rather than a third-party seller.

I’ve an older car although not quite as ancient as my previous one. This has a Audio jack point which is great for playing my own playlists and avoiding carrying CDs.Usually I just use a normal audio jack which connects to my phone through the speaker point. This jack has a lightning connector and I connect it to an iPad mini .First thing to say is that it is simple and easy to use...just plug and play as it were. However I did find the audio was slightly better quality and I don’t have to turn the sound up quite as much. This may be because it goes straight into the lightening port or might because the expensive iPad is better quality than my cheap Android phone. It does the job it is designed for though and Belkin seem to be a reliable brand from previous experience.

This lightning to 3.5mm connector does an excellent job of connecting iPhones to audio equipment. iPhones are supplied with converters of course to enable a standard 3.5mm jack to be connected, so this is very much an extra. These days too Many people people would just use Bluetooth instead but there’s still a market for such cables.I have used this permanently connected to a sound system with just the lightning connector poking out from behind ready for use. A drawback is that the iPhone can’t be charged at the same time, but that’s the fault of the iPhone and not this cable. The cable provides good sound quality. Although very thin, thinner than the charging cable it feels sturdy with no signs of wear so far.

I have used Belkin products over a number of years and been impressed so I was pleased to sample and test this 1.8m/6ft3.5mm Audio Aux Cable.Firstly straight out of the box it is a robust piece of kit. It fits with an iPhone perfectly and connects to any numberof various devices. If you have a speaker system without bluetooth this is ideal as you can easily skip through yourPlaylist. In addition you can easily connect through a car audio system providing of course it has the appropriateaccess point. It is on the pricey side but I always say it is for the customer to decide whether it is worth the outlay. It works verywell and fulfils the product spec. There is no doubt about its quality.

Belkin 0.9 m/3 ft, 3.5 mm Audio Aux Cable with Lightning Connector, BlackThe cable. This is a very high-quality cable from Belkin that allows you to connect iPhone to any 3.5 mm jack socket.Quality.It is very well made and strong but this is reflected in the price.Using.#This allows me to connect my iPhone to a non-Bluetooth stereo system (a very high quality but old separates system) and use it to play my play lists through. It saves finding the original CD’s etc. It works fine and the signal to noise ratio is much better than those add on Bluetooth units you can buy. Very pleased with the sound quality achieved too.Overall.A nice well-made cable. Expensive but it works perfectly.

This is an excellent quality cable, which allows me to connect my iPhone to my car's auxiliary socket.Bluetooth has recently only become a standard for in-car audio, so there are still plenty of cars out there that only carry an aux socket - if one at all. And while not as convenient as a wireless connection, the ability to have your iTunes library with you rather than scratched, jumpy CDs with only 20-songs each is a big deal. The cable itself is typically well made. Belkin often work with Apple when producing accessories, so this should come as no surprise.Absolutely no complaints at all and would highly recommend for outputting your iOS device's audio to a wide range of devices.

I have several expensive speakers in my house that pre-date Bluetooth connections being the norm, and which it is possible to do some hacks to add in Bluetooth, an Audio cable is a much quicker solution. Well, at least until Apple got rid of the headphone jack! This solves that problem nicely, letting you once again attach your fancy new phone to your older non-Bluetooth systems! It’s long enough to allow you flexibility is connecting it to things, and a good quality cable.I would advise that it’s unlikely to be as useful for headphones since the cable is long, and it is a 3.5mm jack (and many brands of headphones take smaller ones).

If you're reading this then you're probably wondering what this cable offers over your usual £5.00 budget cable. What I can say is that after every day use over a 5-6 month period the cable has not faltered once. The item has never cut out or distorted my tunes in any way shape or form and the cable itself seems robust. In summary, if funds permit I can recommend buying this cable. If you (like I have in the past) buy a cheaper cable you are taking a risk. I'm sure many out there are decent quality but I have had no such luck.Good Product, if a little pricey.

I know that Bluetooth is now commonplace but I have a couple of older speakers which don't have it. Connecting them by wire to my phone has involved a lightning to 3.5mm converter which does the trick but isn't especially elegant. And as I also use those small converters for older headphones they do sometimes "go missing". This new addition from Belkin fills this gap superbly. Works perfectly and delivers excellent sound quality. As with all the Belkin products I have ever used the build quality feels excellent. This one is just under metre long.

Connects my apple iPad to my hi fi through the mini jack. Great for playing music. There's no noticeable loss of sound quality, to my ears anyway. Better than bluetooth. Brillant for use in the car too with my phone. The connectors at iether end are held firmly in place by molded plastic/rubber so shouldn't suffer from any lose connections anytime soon. All in all a decent solution for connecting phones and tablet. Dropped a star because its hard for me to see where the £24 price tag delivers additional quality of cables at half the price.

A useful cable to have about if you want to connect one of the newer iphones (the ones without a headphone socket) to a AUX port on a speaker, or presumably to headphones (ones with a removable lead).Sound quality is great. The cable is a useful length (1.8m) - means the person doesn't have to sit too close to the speaker - eg. can be in the back seat and still holding their iphone.Handy when your car only allows one bluetooth device at a time to connect. My only quibble is the price. Seems a lot of money...

One of the most frustrating things about the later iPhones is the lack of audio socket ... if you're like me, you've sighed in annoyance many times when you've realised you don't have the little adaptor thing that comes with the phone available when you want to plug into some audio equipment. And that little adaptor thing is surprisingly easy to lose! This cable is great for the car or the gym or anywhere you want to connect your iPhone to an audio feed.
