Cables are a nightmare! All your devices with all their plugs taking up sockets and all their cables untidily tangling themselves up. Surely there must be a simpler way?There is with this "Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad" which is a small gadget that enables you to charge your devices wirelessly by placing them on top of the pad. It is compatible with most modern smart phones that are Qi-enabled providing up to 10 watts of power, there is even a handy LED on the front to show you charging is in progress.Belkin is a well known brand when it comes to chargers, cables and accessories therefore I hoped they had the experience to create a good quality and useful device and I have not been left disappointed.

The package contains the inductive charging pad (which links with a coil in your phone for charging) and the wall-wart/power supply. Actually, the wall-wart is a nice thing: it is Qi 3, which means that it can negotiate with the device it is plugged into (via a micro-USB plug) and can increase the voltage from the USB 5 Volt level up to 7.5, 9 or 12V to make charging more efficient. Not all phones can benefit from this today, but quite soon it will be in widespread use.I was able to compare inductive charging (using the pad) with plugging the cable directly into the phone. With the pad, it increased the charge by 30% in 43 mins, plugged in directly it did 26% in 37 mins.

Over the last couple of years wireless charging pads have reduced in price pretty dramatically and this charger from Belkin, a manufacturer normally at the more premium price end, is not exception. It is considerably cheaper than an older wireless Belkin charger I have and if anything is better quality.In the pack as well as some basic instructions you get a 4 foot USB charging cable, a UK adapter to plug the cable into the mains and the charging base itself.I like the fact that the unit comes with a two-year guarantee, has a power indicator on the side of the charger to let you know when your phone is charging, and that it uses the fast-charging functionality of both Apple and Samsung phones.

I have been using this Belkin charger with my Apple iPhone 7. It’s the newer and smaller version of its predecessor and a lot easier to align the phone for charging. The predecessor had a much wider plate which meant you had to make sure the phone was centrally placed, and the LED status light was on the top. The charging ring on this pad is near the edge of the plate, which means you have a better success rate for correct alignment of the phone for charging. It has rubber feet to stop it moving about, comes with a plug and long cable. The phone recognises the pad almost instantly with no set up required from the phone, and charges the phone very quickly.

This has been a long time in coming, Wireless charging has been there for electric toothbrushes for years. I have no idea why this has taken so long and why there are so many phones that don't yet accept it!I have used with an iPhone XS and it works perfectly. Set it on the coffee table so it was charging whenever not in use. The only drawback is that a lot of people have phone wallets that hold their cards etc. This has a warning that it may damage the RFID/chips of credit cards. Clearly anything magnetic will, but it is worth knowing if you are looking at getting one. Comes just as a USB lead – there is no charging unit, so you will need to use your old one if it is detachable.

The charger is thin and stylish.I run it from an Apple charging plug as that meets the need for a 5 watt connection. Out of the box I put my iPhone XS on it and it started charging immediately.I don't regard this as a fast charger. I don't believe that is what it is for, and the normal Apple cable does that anyway, and I have a battery pack for on the move fast recharging. I don't like to be without the iPhone.What this is best at is ultra-convenient charging. On a bedside table, I put the iPhone on it last thing when turning in and it is up and ready to go in the morning (probably much sooner).Belkin is a respected brand, and, with at least three Apple portable devices in the house,

This is the smallest of the 4 different Belkin charge pads (5w compared to 7.5w, 10w and 15w) the higher the wattage the faster a phone with fast charge features will charge.This particular model took my iPhone XS Max nearly 3 hours to charge fully, which is longer than either plugging it in or using the other wireless fast charge cradle I have.That said, it's the cheapest of their models and it works just as well for phones that have wireless charging but no fast charging features and it's also handy to have around in another room or in the car as a useful wireless charger. It's well designed and built and up to Belkin's usual standard for quality. It charged fine through my Otterbox phone case,

I've had these sort of chargers before. Normally they feel weighty and solid. This feels very light and when I picked it up it felt very flimsy and I wondered if it was going to work. It did. However this feels so light and brittle that I can't imagine this taking much abuse at all. Still .... it works. Easy to set up ... Big UK plug. 1 meter of cable and the pad at the end of it. Easy enough. At least you can swap the cable out for a longer one so it's not a case of looking for a new charger or pad ... so I guess that's what gets it 4 stars .... meaning "I like it" .... rather than the usual 5 stars for everything.

I like Belkin products and have a number of accessories like this. It comes with a nice long AC lead and I’ve got it plugged in at my bedside cabinet. I’ve got an iPhone with a third party plastic/rubber rear case and this does not affect the charging. I previously had a wired charging unit and it’s nice to just leave the phone on top on the charging unit rather than having to plug it in when half asleep. Although saying that you do have to make sure you place the phone properly to ensure charging. There is a charging status light which is helpful. Overall it's not the cheapest but I’m pretty happy with it.

Used this on my Wife's new S10 and it worked a treat. The best thing about it is it is very easy to line up the charging coils with the phone. In the past, I've had to really move a phone a little this way, a little that way to get the charging position just right. With this Belkin it was almost a case of just plonking the phone down and it would start charging.There are rubber feet on the base to stop it sliding around which is important as it is quite a small charge, much smaller than ones I've used in the past. Sits on the bedside table now, so she can charge her phone during the night.Impressive.

I have several cheaper wireless charging pads which I have bought in the past, but none are what I would could call really good. I now find myself in a position where my Galaxy 9 will no longer charge with a traditional charger, so I thought I would try out this new Belkin charging pad. Well all I can say is - what a huge difference! I did not realise it was possible to charge so quickly wirelessly - Honestly you will not be disappointed with this. I have never actually had anything by Belkin which has not been great. I highly recommend this charger to anyone.

I’ve been using Belkin products for years and been very happy with then and this charging pad is no exception. It charges my iPhone well, despite the fact i have a thin rubber case on the rear of it. Speed wise it’s acceptable and as it charges you can see it’s doing so from the small light. This is the first charging pad I’ve used and I’m glad it’s a Belkin rather than a cheaper overseas brand that I would be unsure about using in terms of safety. It’s handy to have by the bedside and just pop the phone on rather having a dangling cable.

Daughter having got a new Samsung phone has been using this to charge her phone for work she’s impressed as it is a quick charging device. Much better than some she’s previously used. Plus with it being wireless no cables in the way timget tangled up. I got this thinking it would fit most phones but I was wrong but for daughter new Samsung phone Ideal. She tends to watch programmes on her phone so charge soon gets used up but with this device it makes sure her phone is never flat. Pricey but worth it she thinks.

It came packaged well in a nice presentation box, easy to setup and get going and works as it should. It is a fast Qi charger and it does charge your smart phone quickly. It is a little dear than I would like, but it is a quality product. It feels strong and the charge does hold well. One quip is that you do need to ensure the phone is spot on the base.The bonus is that it does come with a fast charger plus, so you can just use the plug if you so wish. Overall, it is good, works well and robust.

I've tested this with my iPhone XR, and been really happy with the results.The charging pad has a reasonable length cord which you plug into a USB port, and you're good to go. Simply pop your compatible device on top and the charging will begin. It seems to charge as quickly as plugging the phone in normally, and is so handy for being able to pick up and put down your device without faffing with cables.Works with my iPhone XR!
