I needed to connect my router to my computer, at opposite ends of the house, with a cable since the distance was drastically slowing the WiFi connection. The £4 cable I first got worked when new but when threaded through the plasterboard from bedroom to attic space, over the joists, down through the cupboard, under the floorboards and up by the router (with much squeezing, grovelling and stretching on my part to get it through) the £4 CABLE DID NOT WORK.I then purchased this, more expensive, non-kinking cable from Belkin and used the cheap cable to 'pull' the new cable through the same route. Any difficulties were due to the cheap cable kinking, the new one slid into position without a problem. You get what you pay for and if you are going to some effort to thread the cable you are better starting off with a better cable. This Belkin Cat5e Snagless UTP Patch Cable (Black) 30m worked very well for me.

If you use a lot of network cables you'll be well aware of the wide variation in quality. Even within the 'snagless' cabling sub category you get a variation in specs, notably the rubbish ones that have a rubber 'boot' covering the whole release tab, which works fine until you actually need to press the tab to release the catch and then you realise that the boot is hard plastic and difficulty to press the tab through. This cable doesn't have any such flaw, it uses two semi-rigid ramps either side of the push-tab, which allow for effortless feeding of the cable - crucially - without obstructing the ability to press the release catch.Unless you 'really' need Cat6 for more than the bragging rights, these cables are perfect and deliver an immensely stable Gigabit connection with low noise. Just make sure you also get a gigabit switch/router to make the best use out of them.

I bought this to run the length between my home broadband router and my daughter's smart TV - being a little too busy (and OK, maybe lazy) to go to the effort of doing real CAT5 cabling with wallboxes and using short patch leads. The cable is good quality, and the snag-less moulded ends are good; although it means a slightly larger hole is needed to push it through walls/ceilings etc (I've gone through the loft).Only 4 stars simply because it's a bit pricey compared to others available without the snagless plugs.Bear in mind that this is UTP, which means it is Unshielded (Twisted Pair) - so if you're using it for similar purposes as I am,avoid running alongside too much power cables or you do risk getting "interference" (this can cause connection dropouts or speed reduction). To avoid this, look for shielded cable at slightly higher price per metre.

Before I begin, if your buying this, be aware of the length, it is 0.5m. And it is short. Normally it is used in networks where the ports are close. Or in my current case, I needed a cheap small cable to run a main system to switch/modem right next to it. Because it is right next to it, it fits in length, again, be aware it's about the length of an adult males forearm or just over.Okay so, this is my first attempt with Belkin. Can't remember using their hardware before, so this is a first. It runs well, looks like it does in the current picture and does it's job. It has a secure fit into the ethernet port on my system and a main port in modem/switch system. The cable is easy to manage and on my home Sky broadband I can get my usual down speeds of 700+kb/s with ease.

husband asked me to order 30m cables for the pc and xbox thingy so that when he re wired the bungalow he would put this cable in too. As not everything is wireless. I purchased these due the good reviews. We are very happy as they did not kink. After he went into work and listened to horror stories other electricians had with putting Ethernet cables in he was dubious about installing it. These went in like a dream. I was the best wife for buying such a good product! So yes a little bit more expensive but they installed up inside the wall to the attic and down the wall to the pc/game room without any shouting from above! I honestly believe paying that little bit more saved a lot stress.Very worth while buy.

Upon setting up a Home Network using Belkin Powerline Homeplug Adaptors I found I needed longer ethernet cables owing to the fact that those provided with Belkin Homeplugs were only a metre long and far too short for my needs. After shopping around for longer cables, I discovered these on the amazon website and purchased them. They are a boon to use. The system works extremely well using these cables, one being attached to the network router, and the other attached to my laptop in the lounge. There have been no problems and I cannot foresee any either. Fantastic value as well considering what some companies are charging for CAT5e cables such as these.Highly recommended for usage and low cost.

0.5m... yep it's short. But it's just to plug my BT Infinity VDSL modem into my network socket a few inches above and it just fits perfectly.I always buy belkin because the snagless 'bumps' stop me ripping off all the clips by accident in wire tangles, and still allow proper access to them - well worth that tiny extra.Solid, seems well built.Comes in a small plastic bag marked 'belkin'.I have equipment to make my own cables but for the few I use and the cheapness of these it's nice to have properly molded snagless heads and a choice of colours.

The belkin Cat 5e cables are a reasonable length for wiring up things around your desk. In bright green you cant miss them - other colors are available. The connector on them is snagless by having two semi circles rise up to project the clip. Given how many broken clips there are in my office this should be a part of all network cables.I needed them for some performance testing and I was happily blasting 100's of Mb/s into them for hours on end without issue; so they are quick as well as easy to maintain. At this price it has to be 5*'s.

I thought that I wouldn't need any more Ethernet cables as I go wireless, but not all new products have that functionality. My sky HD boxes and photo printer for example. I've used this cables to connect either directly to my peripherals or through Powerline adapters that connect through your electrical socket to my sky box for example. The different lengths and colours reduce the spaghetti and allow them to be distinguishable for each appliance. They come in easy open, but not green plastic envelopes and work fine!

Build quality is a little bit questionable, for instance the little arms on either side to make inserting and removing the cable easier don't actually touch - this didn't really affect my use of it however and is almost a non-issue. Unsure as to whether durability is a strong point or not as I've only used for a couple of days but I wouldn't hold your breath. For £2 (w/ free delivery) you can't really complain, was purchased as an alternative to wireless to prevent interference and it did just that.

Well what do you say about a cable, it either works or it does not, this one did in fact work very well, was it better then any other cable, while it is very good at its job this cable makes a horrible kettle lead and did not do a very good job when I tried to connect my guitar to my amp using it ,it also failed miserably as a substitute car aerial as it was all floppy instead of nice and sticky uppy ,but as a Belkin network patch cable it did just fine. and that dear people is what matters.

Pure brilliance. I needed a long cable to hardwire my server to my router. This cable does the job perfectly. The set up is simplicity itself, you just plug one end into your computer and the other end into your router - job done, sit back and let the data fly! No need to fiddle around with pesky WiFi codes. The cable itself is a classic grey colour and the connectors are transparent, which is nice. The cable itself is nice and flexible with what I would describe as a 'slinky' feel to it.

When my daughter's WiFi stopped working on her computer, we needed a way to connect it to the Internet until she can get a new one. This cable is a nice long length, and strong enough that it can withstand bending around corners and under doors without breaking. Good value for money, basic product which seems to work great. Minimal packaging, which is always a plus (some companies would package this in about ten layers of cardboard and plastic). More convenient than waiting for a delivery.

Okay so its not really white, but it does the job and does it well. Colour not a problem for me as it is mostly fixed behind a picture rail and through a wall. I agree that a true white colour would be much better if you have to fix it to a skirting board etc, but I have been using this cable for some time now without a single problem or drop in speed/connection, even after all the twisting and putting it through a dividing wall. Perfect in every way for me........

Its difficult to find fault with this product. Any data entered at one end comes out the other pretty quickly, and without being altered in any way. It even works the other way round, and even if you wiggle it about WHILE IN USE!The grey colour goes perfectly with any colour of wall or carpet, and the ends seem to plug in and out with ease.If you find that its too long, then I'd recommend you get a shorter one. Other than that, this is a fantastic product.
