I have tried two lock ring tools before this but neither were as good as this. The first tool was suitable for use with a ratchet (which was good) but did not have a locating pin like the one shown in the picture. This meant it tended to jump out when used and became burred to the point of being scrap. The second one had a locating pin but could only be used with an adjustable spanner so could not be pushed in as with a ratchet. The tool purchased gets round both these problems by having a locating pin and a solidly mounted built in wrench. I have used it twice with ease and no sign of wear on the tool.

Purchased this to remove the a Shimano 11 gear cassette to service the wheel's bearings. Worked as intended.My only complaint is that the item I received was slightly scratched and the lockring wasn't exactly perpendicular to the arm (ever so slightly bent). Either is had already been used, or it could have been the result of storing many of these in the same bin in the warehouse. I'll give amazon the benefit of the doubt as it still worked as advertised and was a breeze to remove the super tight lockring thanks to its long arm.Would recommend over a smaller (cheaper) lockring nut, unless you already have a long armed wrench.

When I bought this product I had virtually no experience installing and removing components form my bike. Sure I keep it lubed and clean but I'd never even taken the back wheel off before this. The tool was sturdy and fit perfectly into my cassette. I've used it several times since changing cassettes and have had no issues. There are alternatives out there that can attach directly to a socket driver but this is the whole package. The rubber handle makes the installation and removal of cassettes a comfortable breeze. The build quality is solid and I'd therefore recommend this to novices and experts alike.

I particularly like this tool because of the lever length, grippy handle and pin to ensure the splines are correctly aligned.the cassette undid straight away due to the extra leverage over the short (and useless wrench in the aldi bike kit).Tightening the cassette i used a torque wrench rather than this wrench but you could if you didn't have or not bothered abut the torque figure.Great bit of kit for stubborn cassettes, just for ref this was used on a 11 speed 105 unit.

Used to remove a particularly stiff locking ring put on by bike shop mechanic with 'pro' tools. Fit perfectly in shimano lock ring and held firm under pressure whilst freeing ring. Comfortable to hold and non slip handle allows safe use of force without slipping. Quite weighty tool that feels the part not like the cheapy, flimsy ones that come in some of the tool kit sets. Removes cassette lock ring without damage to it, the bike or you! No skinned knuckles this time!!

I needed to remove a cassette and it was this vs a socket style option and use an external tool. I went for this and I admit I begrudge the price - it's expensive.It is annoyingly good though. I used it literally for 5 minutes and now it's in a cycling toolbox not to be used again for a long while. That said, I haven't seen the tool version anywhere else so am glad I have it. I'm sure it'll come in useful again one day

I purchased this to install a Shimano 105 5800 11-speed cassette on a spare wheel to be used with my turbo trainer, Worked as expected. Was very east to put on the cassette and tighten with this locking tool. Aligned perfectly to the shape of the cassette screw. It also seems to be very well made and has a large, comfortable grip. Highly recommend. 5/5

Purchased this tool when I was changing the rear cassette on my boardman team hybrid from 11-28 to 11-32 and it worked perfectly. Indispensable tool when completing this job used in conjunction with a chain grip tool it performed the task without problem . The guide helps keep the tool located and the handle provides a comfortable grip.

A solid, well-made tool, fits and works perfectly, I highly recommend it. I was able to remove and refit my 8-Speed Shimano Cassette Sprocket CS-HG30-8I without any issues.The original Shimano TL-LR10 sprocket lock ring removal tool, which is sold without a built in wrench as the BBB Lock Out tool, is not required.

This tool is good quality and comfortable to use, the locating pin in the centre of the splined socket is useful and it certainly beats holding a splined socket in some adjustable spanners or a ring spanner! Worth the money not to struggle with individual tools, even if you only need to use it every now and again!

Bought this after getting fed up wrestling a tool/spanner combo. Makes the sometimes difficult task of removing a locking ring an easy task.Not a task that needs doing often but you'll be glad you had the right tool for the job when the time comes.

You can get a little adapter more cheaply and use an adjustable spanner, but this is the right tool for the job. Sits in place and doesn't slip.It just makes life that much easier.(Oh, and quicker to find in the toolbox too!)

This is one of those tools that makes the job feel so trivial it feels like it wasn't worth getting the tool. Of course, without the tool the job is basically impossible. Works well. Recommended.

i used the tool all ready and it works, in the long term it will save money going to the cycle shop, also its quick it took Saturday morning to replace the cassette
