Firstly, I was attracted to these pannier's because I couldn't use a set I already had due to 'heel strike' when I tried to transfer them from my hybrid bike to my recently purchased road/touring bike. I noticed the curved front edge of the Basil Tour Panniers and hoped this would solve the problem. I'm pleased to say it did indeed!I found that the strap/buckle (top) fasteners didn't suit my Tortec Tour Ultralite rack as the width of the rack meant that the metal part of each buckle sat directly on the rack. Unlucky as had the rack been 1cm wider or narrower the straps would have sat either side correctly. I simply cut them off and used some mini bungee cords. Please note,

I'm really pleased with these panniers. They are strong and well made. A concern I had when reading about other panniers is flimsy construction. These look like they'll last a long while, although I've only just started using them. The curve at the front is great, as I've had no problem with my heels bumping the bags as I ride. The reason for the 4, not 5, stars is the velcro fastening at the bottom of the panniers. Perhaps no other fastening is possible given the wide variety of racks and frames out there. But they have been a bit of a pain. I've unpicked and re-sewn the velcro so it better fits my frame, and I've doubled up the ends (and sewn them) so that they don't pull out easily.

This product is well designed, the sloping fronts avoid your heels colliding with them whilst pedalling and the stiffening inserts fit well inside the retaining cavities. The covers fit well and are easily opened and closed.I haven't used them much yet, so don't know about long term durability but they appear well made.The only small improvement I would like to have seen is to be able to remove them from the bike quickly so as to take them into the supermarket with me. However, with practice, the 4 belt buckles and 2 Velcro straps will no doubt get easier to operate.

Nice bags, materials seem sturdy enough for a daily commute to work. I can't comment about being waterproof.I don't really like the straps to secure the bags on the side, they are a bit loose. Maybe it is just their position w.r.t the bars in my rack. I would have loved the bags to be deeper as my 13" inches laptop doesn't fit perfectly and I have to force it a lot in order to close the clips.

I bought myself a new bike and because I am quite a small 75 year old woman I wanted panniers that would suit my smallish bike and not be too heavy. These are perfect. I weighed them at 1.6 kg on my home scales.With the cutaway shape it ensures that my heel will never get caught while cycling which gives me added confidence. Perfect for carrying shopping.

The cases themselves are very modern & smart. Nice size, not too big or small, well made from quality materials. However the attachment system is from a different era; metal buckles that are ridiculously fiddly and in the wrong place plus some token Velcro and no carry handle. I cut it all off made my own and added a handle.

Excellent construction but let down by the fixing straps which are somewhat fiddly to secure - a little thought will produce an improved fitting system enabling easy mounting and dismounting but nevertheless it must be said these work as supplied but the fixing system could be improved upon.

These bags are very easy to attach to the e-bike we've got but would as easily fit on a normal bicycle. The straps and attaching it to the pannier is specially designed for an e-bike. When the bike is stored the bags fold flat to use less space. Good quality product as well.

Smaller than I envisaged, so not able to get much shopping in them.They seem good quality for the price.I keep my key for the bike lock in the side pocket, which has now split on the inside after light use.If they get wet then they take a long time to dry out.

Although this is a good product and holds a lot for my commute to work, the main issue I had was taking them on and off my bike. This isn't a quick think and can take several minutes, so if your in a rush it can be a pain. Other than that, very good item

this has been a very good purchase..made a small adaptation using electrical ties but the bags are sturdy, capacious and I have been carrying 8 roof tiles per side ok. excellent value ,especially when compared to shop-based retail outlets

Arrived very quickly. Very pleased with the overall quality of the product. Had to fiddle around a bit to find the best position on the pannier, and also used a few black tie-wraps to sturdy things up.

Great pannier. I modified mine to make it quick release, added a handle & a carry strap ...in fact, I made it into an awesome pannier. The manufacturers should contact me for my redesign ideas...!

Quality is very good and they look very nice on the bike. There is plenty of foot clearance between foot and pannier. Bag are a little small but big enough for weekend away.

Good quality. Not waterproof. Not a lot of storage. Looks good. They are bulky on the sides, consider this.The attachment is perfect.
