At minimum focus (12X) the picture in this scope is simply STUNNING. Boy, if I could get a sight like that on my rifle!Higher magnification has the effect of reducing the size of the reticule. And while the image is less impressive as you increase the magnification, all functions work well enough for use on a 100 yard range--the longest distance I could try the scope out. For the money Barska products appear well constructed, have a nice feel and function as intended. The stand holds it's position without surrendering to a slow 'droop'. The cheap hard shell case is a waste, but looks nice so it's a shame to throw it out. Same for the hand grip.Bottom line: it's cheap and it works fine for my use,but probably not up to snuff for a demanding application. I did get to compare it with our local champ at our club. His scope was noticeably better but, 3 times the price.

my Barska Benchmark 8-24x58 scope is great! most of it's competitors have a magnification range that starts at a much higher power. that means you must have a tripod or similar device to steady it before you can even use it. with this Barska, at 8 power you can see easily just holding it in your hand! with the included hand grip and table-top tripod, you're set to use the zoom for higher power settings. the larger than average objective lens gathers much more light making this great in the low light of dusk and dawn. perfect size for taking on vacations or watching critters in the back yard. nice solid feel when handled, packs into it's included case with ease, and is a much smaller package than full size binoculars.this scope is a bargain in it's own right, but when you add in Amazon's free shipping, it really cannot be beat!

I am a sheep farmer and often need to take a look at my sheep from a distance and take note of the number on their ear tag. I've used binoculars and monoculars from other brands and have always been disappointed in the view/magnification/image quality they provided. Not so with the BARSKA 8-24x58 Spotting Scope! The image quality is great, it has a large field of vision, and the larger lens diameter allows for good low-light viewing conditions. The construction is sound and though it's not as small as my mini-monocular I used to carry around strapped to my belt, this one is still compact enough to make it easy to carry and quickly focus in on a moving target with little effort.

Spotting scopes are usually very expensive, large and heavy. They've largely been replaced in hunting by range finders which are light-weight and compact, but only go up to about 8 power (usually). This spotting scope by Barska is a very good one for the money (if you buy it discounted). Better than binoculars, can be used for star-gazing (at the 24 power setting) although there was a little chromatic aberration. Certainly a $1000 telescope would be better. It doesn't have an adapter for a camera that I know of, but with most of using small digital cameras that can't be helped. It comes with a soft case and a table-top tripod.I've been very happy with it.

I wanted to have a scope for the range (25-75) yrds. and I didn't want to spend big money, so even tho some reviews were less than flattering, this scope seemed to fit the bill for me. Now for the good part. Bought a 7" TV. from Amazon (Coby), homemade an adapter to mount a miniature cctv camera to the lens, hooked it all up, and VIOLA, all I have to do now is just glance over a little and see where I'm hitting. By the way, focus is not a problem, I watched those guys on the moon for 30 minutes the other night and the more I drank, the higher they were jumping. Best kept secret around.

I bought a more expensive model from a big box sporting goods store, but the optics on it were poor, so I returned it and bought this instead. This spotting scope will never be confused with the Hubble Telescope, but it is very good for the 100 yard indoor range that I go to. The accessories work well, and the tripod is sturdy, though a little difficult to point accurately. The focus is sharp at 100 yards in fairly dim light, and the magnification range is exactly what I need. All in all, one could pay a lot more and not get a significantly better spotting scope.

This scope did a pretty good job while out at the range recently. I was able to get a pretty clear picture out to about 150 yards, although at that point i had some trouble keeping it perfectly dialed in. with reactive targets I was able to see where my impacts were at 150 yards. I think at 200 yd you would be at the limit to clearly see your impacts even on the reactive target. All in all i would say this is a great value for the price paid I only wish it was able to see a little bit farther and more clearly. It is small and compact and travels well.

Excellent value for a weatherproof compact spotting scope. Weighs in at only 412 grams. Comes with simple tripod and pistol grip. While this comes with lens covers, only the objective cover is attached to the body of the scope. It is quite likely one will lose the eyepiece cover. Viewing 100 to 600 yards would be the best distances for this compact scope. 1000 yards would be a blurry stretch.

We use this scope for bird watching. The scope is lightweight yet appears very sturdy. My wife finds it easier to focus than binoculars and is at least twice as powerful. The tripod makes it easy to keep focus steady when using higher power. I feel it's as good as scopes costing twice as much.

Not the best optics out there, but for this price you shouldn't expect that. The optics work very well and the size is small enough to pack it in your range bag. It's perfect for shorts distances, but if you want a professional bird scope or something - look somewhere else.

I shoot in a bullseye league where you need a good spotting scope that is compact to fit in my shooting box / case to see target hits st 25 and 50 yards. I shoot both 22L.R. and 45ACP and can see the holes in the target clearly at both yardages.

I'm used to focusing SLR camera lenses and this scope works the same. Binoculars are difficult for me to get a single image and the Barska scope solves that issue. Small in size but powerful images. Worth the price

For $60a good optic for general use. I tried these at the range to see targets at 25 yards for shot placement. Worked great. Again these are not intended to be used for high detailed observation.
