This is a relatively budget friendly range of Barbie dolls that are designed to represent and appeal to people across all identities - with dolls in different skin tones, body shapes etc. I think it is a pretty successful attempt - the 'Cheerful Check' doll will fit into any Barbie lovers collection or make a great stand alone doll. Her dress is very on trend (80s check - yuk!) - just wish she was rocking flat shoes instead of stupid high heels - but it is Barbie!I very much remember being given a doll with flaming auburn red hair (like mine) when I was little, and it was absolutely my favourite doll - I loved her dearly because she was like me - I really hope that all the kids that receive dolls from this range get that same sense of being alike /

This is just a doll with no additional accessories other than what is worn. Currently the price is £12, but there are others in the range that look like the same doll, but different clothes and hair which are currently £6, so it may be worth looking through the range to get better value for money. That being said £12 is about the going rate.It is nice to see that the range has now expanded and diversified since I was younger when there was just Barbie and Ken. On the whole it is a typical Barbie doll known and loved by children all over the world and for a few generations. She is in a simple checked dress, necklace and shoes. My initial reaction was that her dress was too short and inappropriate,

This is one of five Barbies that my daughters (age 8 and 12) play with in the attached video (which is also on YouTube).My 8-year-old thought this one was the best of the five dolls simply because it was the one that looked most like her with its curly hair which is like hers.This is what makes the Fashionista Barbies so great, their variety. With there being different types - petite, curvy, tall, black, white etc - there is one that is relatable for hopefully any child, unlike the traditional Barbie which is slim, white and blonde, so not that relatable to many children.Also on the plus side is that the price on the Fashionista dolls is affordable (although if you are not fussed on choosing

Barbie Fashionistas Dolls - No. FJF45, Cheerful CheckIn the past, I have refused to give Barbie dolls to the girls because of the limited diversity: it's all been tall, impossibly skinny blonde white dolls. For this doll - and others in the Fashionistas range - I will break this rule because it is more representative of the world in which they live. In fact, the texture of the afro textured hair is really good, as are the outfit and puff hairstyle. Thumbs up for a doll that is more representative of the world in which we live.I still dislike the ridiculous non-human proportions, though the Barbie Fashionistas range does now include a Curvy range (for which read proportions that are closer to slender human adults!).

One of the best things they ever did with Barbie was to open up the range to cover a larger number of races. This was not only good for sales, but for kids to look at dolls (and, eventually people) as a part of their "family" regardless of colour.I love this doll as it has a clothing design that could be treated as ultra modern or something from the 60s depending on what game the child is playing. I also like the fact t that it has a hair style that reflects life. I've seen women and girls with this hair styling.Excellent and is up to the usual Barbie quality.

This is a rather nice Barbie. She is approximately 11 and a half inches tall and has an afro hair style. Her dress is yellow and black check with a silver colour necklace, She wears red highlighter heeled shoes. Arms and legs move and she will sit but cannot stand on her own. Recommended ages seem to vary on page. 7yrs+ and 3yrs+ and 36 months to 18 years are suggested on different lines. Personally I think 3+years is about right but I think by the time girls reach 18 they will have other things on their minds. My 3 and a half year old loves her

This is one of the range of Barbie Fashionistas Dolls, which all come with trendy outfits and look slightly different from the average Barbie. They are more ethnically diverse and there are different body types - with plumper, more rounded shapes appearing. This doll has lovely hair and a pretty, gingham outfit. Her body shape is more typically Barbie though, with a slim shape.In size, she is the same as other Barbies, so outfits are interchangeable. This is modern, pretty and nicely presented.

I have been building up a collection of these over the years for my granddaughter and was delighted to see this one had been added. As with all Barbie dolls this is excellent in detail and very well designed. Suitable from eight years upwards. The hair feels just like real hair would and the clothes are bang up to date, I know the red high heels will be popular when I hand this over. Children in school are all different in one way or another and I love to see toys catching up with the times.

Its so so promising to see a doll that actually looks like me! When I was around 7 all the dolls in the store looked like typical barbie, (blonde hair, blue eyes) but when I saw this doll I had to get her for my niece. I’m so glad I’m able to see the (very slow, but present) progression in diversity. The doll is kyuuute and her melanin is popping. No complaints at all. I’m gonna need to start looking for some mini barbie combs though, her 4c hair isnt gonna do itself?

Barbie FJF45 Fashionistas Dolls Cheerful Check is a cute and very fashionable dress from the Barbie range. It is a basic doll with no hidden extras but one which will please any child who likes to play with Barbie doll range.Our little girl loved this doll and it is one which she plays with daily. She is fascinated with the doll's hair etc and thinks she is "super cool".Happy to recommend.

I certainly didn’t get the one depicted but the one I did get was much cooler.The Barbie’s come with a very cool outfit, the dolls are really well made and are lots of trendy fun.I can imagine that any girl across the spectrum will love these new Barbie’s .... certainly they are far cooler and trendier than ever before.

The barbie I had arrive was not the one pictured but a slightly different one in the range. I didn't particularly have my heart set on the one pictured so this was fine by me. The one I got is the quality I have come to expect from barbie and will be a nice addition to the barbie population at home.

What can you say? Barbie is something I have been with for a very long time since the '60s. She has come a long way in some respects. this is part of a series of Barbies that can be collected. The one I received has very trendy dyed yellow ombre hair. Still one to get and play with.

This is a lovely doll which comes well packaged and looks great. It is really nice to see the new ranges of Barbie, and the way things have changed since the past. The one I received did not come with any accessories which was a little disappointing but a lovely doll all the same.

This doll is simply smashing! Great to see a Barbie doll on the market with dark skin and beautiful African hair, complete with its natural frizz, rather than 'relaxed' hair.This is a perfect doll for any child, black, white, whatever.I love it.
