Wow, incredible and I'm blown away. I had the Beat Pill XL which I thought was great until it was just recalled by Apple for safety concerns. I was gutted as there was no replacement option so I was back to looking for a replacement.I considered the Bose Soundlink III or the new Bower and Wikins T7 and then stumbled across the B&O Beolit 15 from some other reviews.I heard nothing but praise about the Beolit 15, so I bought one in the Polar Blue. I was initially worried about the colours as I didn't like any of them and would have prefered a more traditional Black, Grey or silver. But, I thought the Blue was the closest to normal so I went with that.In the flesh I think the colour is gorgeous and I'm very pleased with it.Another cool feature with this is that you can use the internal battery to charge your struggling Smartphone and there is no power cable and power brick to lug around as the cable stores neatly in the back of the unit via a touch to open / close door.I'm REALLY fussy about my music and sound, but the Beolit 15 is a total KNOCKOUT. The bass is deep, articulate and detailed not a booming, overpowering Bass. Even tracks with a ton of Bass never sound muffled or over powered and the Bass is really deep and precise. And due to the beautiful, solid build of the speaker it also never rattles or vibrates either. The sound separation is truly astonishing and I've thrown everything I can think of at it from Spotify (in Extreme Quality of course) and everything amazes. For example in acoustic and classical you can actually hear the mechanical function of the instruments and you can choose and listen to a single instrument through the entire piece. It's handled complex music such as Nine Inch nails and Radiohead beautifully through to gentle and subtle stuff such as Sigor Ros, Helios, Olafur Arnalds. Then thrown some rock at it, from SlipNot to Foo Fighters and all dealt with perfectly.I listened to it yesterday for I would say 4 hours and had it on in my office for 6 hours so far and there is no signs of the battery level dropping and effecting the sound yet.Oh and the most incredible thing is.... This thing does truly have 360 degrees sound. You can hold the speaker up in the air and rotate it in your hand and the sound doesn't drop off at all. I've never experienced this before as there is usually a 'back side' of a speaker where the treble and mids drop off and the sound becomes muddled, especially as most companies seem to throw the Bass out of the back to make use of walls behind as a reflector. But not in the Beolit 15. Trust me, get someone to hold it up, you close your eyes whilst they rotate it and you cannot tell the difference. This is one speaker which really does fill a whole room with detailed, articulate, spacial sound.I'm stunned! If you are in the market for a speaker in this price bracket, then I'm pretty sure you would be impressed and really please with your purchase. As an aside note, whilst waiting for this to come and due to the Beats Pill XL being returned I went out and bought a Denon Envaya Mini bluetooth speaker which waiting for the Beolit 15 to come. For it's price and size it's a marvel. I picked it up for £89 and it's wonderful plus it's water resistant so great for use outside, at the beach or in a steamy kitchen or bathroom. As for the Beats Pill XL...... Not even close to the Beolit 15 and in a total different league. The B&O feels and sounds like it's made by Rolls Royce whereas the Beats felt and sounded more Ford Fiesta. Don't get me wrong the Beats Pill XL was good, but the B&O is amazing.

As a long standing B&O fan and owner, I thought I'd give this little baby a whirl. The service from Amazon, the packaging, the ease of setup - all first class as you'd expect from these two companies. No software glitches or bugs detected so far.Incredibly easy to link to your phone, tablet or PC/Mac with Bluetooth. The sound will vary depending on what device you pair it to. For example, the sound from my Mac Mini is very different to that of my iPhone 7, but it's a minor thing. The Beoplay app is a must, otherwise the bass is way too bloated by default. So much so, the mids and highs are diluted down to unacceptable levels for my tastes. It's the same with all of these type of speakers though, too much emphasis on the bass. The app allows you to adjust the tone control with a fancy slide your finger around the screen affair, but what ever happened to simple bass and treble controls? Come on guys, can we have that please? Cheaper for you, simpler for us. If you slide the app over to "Bright", it restores the balance quite nicely. See attached pic.One point to note on the Beoplay app, the speaker itself does not remember the tone settings. You have to reapply them each time you connect. The volume this thing can kick out is impressive. The sound really comes alive at half volume on your iPhone, but at that level it's slightly anti-social in a terraced house. Below that it's a bit muffled sounding. At 3/4 volume on your iPhone, it's a proper party speaker and add more volume still, the bass noticeably gets pulled back, which will be the anti-distortion circuits kicking in to protect your investment.Only 4 stars because B&O have followed the herd and made a 'boom box' instead of sticking to their founding principals of a warm, natural and bright soundstage, but it is incredibly easy to use, fully portable, loud for it's size, and once tuned, it sounds superb for a wireless speaker.Treat it as a high quality portable speaker and not a hi-fi component and you will not be disappointed.Ignore any comments about it being heavy and too big, it's utter nonsense, unless you are incredibly weak and frail.Update: I've done some more testing, and 2 things - 1) the sound quality through the bluetooth of Mac Mini is FAR superior to that of my iPhone 7, and 2) the speaker packs more punch when connected to the mains. Therefore upgraded to 5 stars because the sound quality is simply stunning. Far exceeded my expectations.

I tested one of these in the B&O store and couldn’t make my mind up whether to buy it or not. As luck would have it there was a considerable saving to be made buying it here. The sound quality is quite reasonable, and the output level surprising for such a small device, about 9x8x6”. I haven’t been converted to metric yet. Of course the quality of output also depends on the quality that goes in, and I’m not talking Barry Manilow here, but the bit rate of the music. Remember though that this is at the lower end of the B&O range. The top of the range speakers cost over 50 grand. This is one place you don’t want to get a “habit”!Pairing is a doddle through Bluetooth.I either run this off an iPad or a MacBook Air.B&O has some software that acts as a fairly rudimentary graphic equaliser, and there is software that can pair a couple of these to produce proper stereo sound, which must be cool.I can’t comment on how long this will run on the battery as mine has spent its life as a mains powered speaker in the bedroom. I would like a second one for the stereo paring, but I can always find something else to spend the money on. Its only a shame that I wasn’t born rich instead of good looking! The Beolit 15 has now been superseded by the Beolit 17. If you can afford more than this then have a look at the Beosound 1 and the Beosound 2. Neither are cheap, but they really have got the B&O style thing going on, whereas the Beolit 15 is just a bit of a box.

After much researching this product suddenly appeared and grabbed my attention. I've never been a fan of B&O products with their style over substance but this appears to have addressed any brand concerns. The setup is easy but you must have a mini/micro USB cable handy; mine needed an immediate software update but that wasn't an issue. The design is pretty cool and it's portable enough for me; realism is needed when balancing size and sound! Now for the sound; it's quite simply, incredible. Punchy bass without the heaviness Bose units suffer from, good mid range, clear and crisp top end. You'll do a double take when you hear what's coming out of such a small box. But on top of a decent amount of power, there's also detailed, clear sound at low volumes too; the true test of good audio.I took this to a beach BBQ yesterday and everyone was amazed at the sound. There's no drop when you unplug it from the mains either and I managed four hours of high volume with no battery life issues. The mains plug stores fairly neatly in the recess finished with a soft touch cover and a little hole for the cable. The Beoplay app doesn't do an awful lot but it's good for mild sound tweaking. It's expensive but nothing out there touches it for power, sound quality or battery life.

I was looking for a new speaker to replace my Bose Soundlink mini. The Bose had a good sound but would constantly keep turning off regardless of battery charge.I spotted this on Prime day and ordered. I'm so glad I did, it's got a great sound that is vastly superior to my previous Bose. It's loud enough to fill a room with deep bass and crisp sound, with no distortion at full volume. Battery life has been excellent. It holds a Bluetooth connection far better than the Bose did. The Bose would drop out as soon as I stepped indoors with my phone if I was using it in the garden. The B&O remains connected even when I walk through the house and go upstairs. It was a Prime day bargain.Only negative was the voucher for a free B&O gift expired in May 2016.

don't nomaly bo reviews, but this speaker is so good I thought I should put pen to paper. the sound that it produces is somthing special, The price is high, but it is in a class of its own. I could have gone for 41/2 stars due to the instructions or should I say the lack of them but after a phone call to a Bang and Olufsen shop who were very helpfull with my enquiry I am happy to stay with 5 stars. This is a quality item that goes with the saying "you only get what you pay for".

Was looking for a new dock to replace my 10 year old Bose one. Tried this along with several others in JLP. This had a great sound but couldn't justify the £400 price ticket. When I saw this on Prime day for £230 I had to buy it. Fabulous rich, deep sound and can handle bass too. Really happy with this purchase. Thanks Amazon Prime day!

This arrived promptly and as soon as I unpacked it I could tell it is a quality product. The build is superb - as you would expect. I was up and running in a few minutes. The sound is fantastic and belies the size of the unit with rich deep bass and perfect mid ranges and treble. Any doubts I had in buying this were quickly dispelled.

If you're looking for a Bluetooth speaker, look no further. This fine piece of art is amazing. The sound that comes from it blows me away. The bass is proper thumping. It is a pricey speaker to own, but you're paying for top-notch build quality, with premium materials and second-to-non sound.
