The finished build looks amazing: plenty of colour with several pieces, some very small, and a HUGE amount of stickers make this REAL GRADE a very detailed model which looks the part on a display shelf. It's certainly not a toy! You'll need a sharp craft knife, tweezers, nippers, nail files and a lot of patience. Some stickers are so small...and placing them correctly will test your patience, as well as giving you the occasional 'light-headedness'!I found part of the mechanism that's used to open the wings not as sturdy, when trying to open them some parts tend to come loose so care is required when trying certain poses but this should not affect your overall judgement as, once finished, this is going to go on a shelf or inside a display cabinet.I quite like the inner frame as well, the articulations allow for great posability as well as being very solid. Shoulders, ankles, torso, hips...they all move, as well as having 180 degrees rotation on knees and elbows, better than some MG.Overall the robot is about 5 inches tall from feet to head, plus another couple of inches depending on how high you decide to go when you spread the wings and these's also two spare pair of hands (one which articulates), and a mini pilot to paint, if you dare!Great overall, highly recommended!

Bandai's 1/144 RG Freedom Gundam is an excellent kit. It's definitely one of the better and more impressive looking Real Grades I have assembled. Like all RG kits, it possesses an incredible level of detail, more so than the HG and MG, while maintaining a level of articulation that rivals Master Grade. With the wing binders fully deployed and mounted in an action base, this kit has presence. There a couple spots of looseness; the smaller blue wing parts can get loose over time and not stay in place, and the arms can loosen resulting in drooping gun poses. The beam saber blades that it comes with it are rather large as they are the 1/100 scale blades that normally come with Master Grades and when used do end up looking a bit ridiculously long, especially with the combined saber.Getting it into HiMAT mode is not difficult, but posing the upper cannons is tricky as they contact the head's v-fin often. Still it is doable. It comes with the beam rifle, shield, two beam sabers and blades, pair of RG hands, a pair of closed fists, trigger hand for rifle and an open left hand(supposedly to grab the RG Justice Gundam's hand). I would HIGHLY recommend getting an action base as this a very back heavy kit and it only looks natural up in the air.

For those Gundam Seed Saga Lovers, this is the perfect "toy" for you. The detail level is incredible, every tiny piece does not make any sense until you assemble it with other parts of the gundam. I took 2 days to finish assembling the skeleton and exterior details (the armor and wings), you have to be extra careful when extracting the pieces from the box, while some of then are easy, other are simple impossible with bare hands, so a tweezers is highly recommended.PROs- It's a GUNDAM- It's fun to assemble- Detail Level is almost perfect- The material is good, it looks like a hardened plasticCONs- It does not provide the base stand, so you need to find it elsewhere- The decals are so hard to place, you need to use extra glue and have a really high precision with your hands in order to place them "correctly"- The weight of the weapons may affect the pose, you need to distribute the weight correctly if you want to use the gundam in a "stand up position" (I don't have the stand base).- Wings Assembly is far from good. Even if you can assemble the wings and keep them in a cool position, even a soft hit or just by simple folding the wing it may break and you have to reassemble the wing pack again. So be careful.

Like all of Bandai's Real Grade series kits, this kit is 1/144 scale. It stands about 6" tall, but there is an absurd amount of detail contained in those few inches. There are plenty of pane lining opportunities throughout the kit, and the excellent color separation means painting is completely unnecessary. Unlike the RG RX-78-2, there are no stickers on the back of the knee to fall off, however the Freedom does have the annoying elbow stickers. I suspect by their design, they'll stay on a bit better on the Freedom than they did on the RX-78-2.Pros:Extremely detailed with excellent color separationExcellent designVery poseable; all joints are fully articulated, even multi-jointed fingers.I like the inclusion of swappable HG-style hands in addition to the standard shrunk-MG style RG hands. No more lost fingers.Tiny parts. Be ready with a magnifying glass during assembly.Cons:With the gigantic wings, its extremely back heavy and hard to pose. Completely nullified with an Action Base 2.After lots of repositioning, the arms begin to droop from the weight of the weapons, slightly limiting the posing abilities.Tiny parts. Be ready with a magnifying glass during assembly.

The Freedom Gundam is one of, if not my favorite Gundam so I wanted a kit that looked cool and this was the one. besides having some features not even the master grade has, like the wing split, and what not even the 1/60 scale had, it was one of the best purchases that I have ever made. The very first Gundam model I purchased was the High Grade, 1/144 scale Freedom Gundam and fell in love with it. Comparing this real grade to the high grade however, there is no competition. It comes with two beam sabers, a rifle, a shield, and different hands. One of the greatest things about the real grade line is the Master Grade type frame that goes into the real grade. It has a lot of articulation, looks awesome with no panel lining, using a marker to line the various little crevices of the model to make it pop more, or painting, and it looks incredible overall. If you want to get a kit but don't know if it is the right one for you, youtube has some good reviews on models to help you make your choice. A few notes: you need a specific action base to attach the Freedom onto; This is a model kit, not a toy so if it falls, it will probably shatter into a million pieces.

I'm not a Gundam expert but I've been assembling a couple of HG models and thought of challenging myself with RG. The product arrived earlier than I expected, I anticipated it to arrive after Christmas since I ordered them a couple of weeks before. The instructions are easily understood (I just followed based on the label and the diagram). The product was indeed challenging, but not hard to assemble. It has inner frame (unlike the HG models I own) which allows to make more poses, that is cool. It is my first time with RG so I experienced a lot of parts popped out when trying to assemble all them together. It was not as smooth as my experience with HG models and it take more time.Maybe because I'm a first timer. But they give a lot of spare parts and stickers which I like (in case I lose it). And I notice the model is more detailed in terms of its features and more colors. I would definitely get another RG models from this seller next time. Overall, I am happy with it.

I bought this a few years ago, and during this Covid 19 year, I finally put this model together.Japanese swords all have names, it is the same of the Gundams. Each Gundam is different with a different name. The first Gundam, which now has a real life size working robut is called the "Strike" Gundam, was revealed last year.FYI - Before removing the model pieces from their cards, wash them in Dawn soap to get the plastic manufacturing oils off the pieces. This will make putting paint and water sticker decals on better. The "Freedom" Gundam with the blue wings is always the Hero's (Kira's) Gundam. The instructions were in Japanese but the pictures said it all, especially if you have put models together before. The model is movable into poses but it is too fragile to play with it as an action figure. This model of an all time favorite Gundam "The Freedom" from the all time best Gundam Seed Saga was a great way to spend time.Thank you for selling this item.?

This is the best Real Grade Kit I have built yet (It is my third)! The RX-78 kit suffered from loose fitting pieces that required glue and even some points of articulation (hips and shoulders) that you can't glue with out compromising articulation, but often came apart when trying to pose. The Freedom Gundam Real Grade model does not have these drawbacks. The only real drawback (if it is really a drawback) is that it is a little more complicated that some of the earlier Real Grade models and really would be for older kids if you are buying it as a gift for children (the box says 15 and up, which is probably pretty accurate). For less than 35 dollars, this was an amazing buy.I don't like to paint these kits because of the extremely small pieces, so getting the corresponding colors of the Real Touch markers is a good idea to cover any accidental white scars from cutting the sprues from the runners.

Not really a big fan of Gundam, but saw this and thought it was perfect for my desk toy collection! It's very detailed. I was originally going to paint it up, but when i saw the level of detail putting it together, i figured that the paint wasn't really needed for the amount of detail i had in mind, the model itself does that very well. The decals are also stickers, no water needed which i found was really handy, I remember using decals when i was young and they could be a real pain to apply. One thing though, careful when you're cutting the inner skeleton parts off the sprue. Some are connected via actual connecting points used to attach the pieces together and I accidentally cut off a bit.Fixed it with some glue though.Would highly recommend even to a non Gundam fan.

This was actually my first real grade model, but I found it to be not that complicated. The detail on the Gundam is amazing. The stickers are a bit tedious, but that is definitely not a problem. I think it took me around 10 hours to build and add some of the stickers, but I still haven't finished adding the stickers. The end result is amazing. I would recommend getting a stand for this as it's pretty back heavy, but I just set it against the wall of my desk. It looks amazing if you open up all of the wings. It definitely was worth every penny and made a great addition to my desk. I get compliments all of the time on how cool it looks. I would highly recommend this.

This product make a perfect gift during the holiday season for anyone who is a Gundam fan or even just anyone who like to put together a model. The kit is very detailed and specified. By detail I mean, even the fingers of the Gundam could be moved. No painting or so are needed after assemble. It would already look perfect with a few stickerIt might had a little difficulty to stand up straight due to all the flexibility and the little heavy wings, so I used Blu Tack (just a very little) to stick it on the shelf.Overall, this is a great product and highly recommend it. It's better to get the kids this than some video games......

I didnt use the stickers sense it looks like I will need to use some special tool with it.But i did finish building the model in just one day so it won't take that long to build it.Pieces are organized and well label and the instructions arent that hard to follow I was easily able to understand the pictures and how it was suppose to go.The only bad thing is that the plastic quality is really cheap:as with all the modelsAnd the pieces are very small; because of the size 1/144It does move and work like the one in the show after u finish it. Its also quite something too to show off ur accomplishment =)

This was my first snap together kit and I didn't know what to expect. If you want to know what to expect you can see what's in the box in this video: [...]. The instructions are in Japanese but the diagrams are easy to follow and you will find a translation to English online if you need. I am very happy with the quality and detail of this kit: the pieces fit together accurately and securely. The joints offer incredible range of motion and it's cool to see the armor plates slide apart to allow for the motion. This took me about 2 days of work at a leisurely pace. I will be buying more of these kits soon.

22.7.2014

This was my first real-grade gundam model. My other models are high and master grade. That being said, it was better than I expected. This model is smaller than a high or master grade, but there was definitely a lot of detail put into it. It still has an endoskeleton like a master grade, but most of the endoskeleton has already been put together. Yes, I bought it new, not used. Most of the endoskeleton is already assembled. You just twirk it a little bit and put some armor on top. Honestly, the most time-consuming part is the decals. It has A LOT of decals.

RG Freedom is a fun build. The kit is very detailed and very poseable while having more fragile parts than other grades, as expected of the RG lines. While the kit is good, there isn't a whole lot that makes it stand out from other RGs. If you just love the Freedom, you might as well either get a MG or HG version. The only real problem I have with the kit is the backpack. The individual parts are somewhat loose and sometimes come off while adjusting. This makes changing wing configurations a bit tricky and the kit may look a bit strange in full burst mode.
