Dutch Ovens, I use a lot for cooking, but they are too heavy for pasta. A gallon of water takes forever to come to a boil in the heavy pots, and the final stage of wrestling the cooked pasta and scalding water over to the sink feels like a life-or-death experience. In Bialetti’s thin aluminum five-quart pot, the heat transfers rapidly to the water. The full weight of a cooked pound of pasta is far more manageable in this lightweight pot. And the lockable strainer top is a bonus.Recommended. prisrob 09-24-14

This pasta pot more than meets my expectations. It is quite expensive but you get what you pay for. The pot is very solid.and well made. I not only use it for pasta but its excellent for steaming rice. I use it all the time. It is very easy to clean because of the non stick coating. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes cooking.

Fabulous product. great design....so given a good rating. It would have been higher but....unfortunately I have change my hob and this doesn't work on induction hobs.

Fantastic pan. Be careful with it as the non-stick surface is easily scratched. Use only plastic or wooden utensils with it.

Good pan with safety handles Hard to find a good pasta pan.
