This was the LONGEST the MOST FUN games I have ever played!The original BG series was excellent in all of storyline, gameplay, music and stability. Now, nowadays, sequels usually mean a graphically-improved expansion (at best). BG2 is a rare exception of the sequel clearly SURPASSING the original. And in the case of such great original, this means a lot!Words fail to describe the perfect harmony of brilliant ideas, emerging story-line and detailed coding that makes this game an unsurpassed classic! This COLLECTION contains all the sequels, patched with the latest fixes. Do not let the slightly outdated graphics discourage you.

I know what you're thinking... how can a 9 year old game be better than Dragon Age? Or Mass Effect? It can't be.Wrong.I'm a big big fan of both those games, but both, especially DA, are mere immitations. Pretenders to the throne.Baldur's Gate 2, whilst not looking as pretty of course, is bigger, longer, and yes, more complex and detailed than DA. The story is better, the characters, who like to put in their 2 cents and have their own quests just like modern games, are better too; more funny, powerful and better voice acted. The plot is more complex and atmospheric and there are more quests.One of the selling points of DA was that the characters interacted with each other. But BG2 was doing that back in 2001.

Yes its still as good as it ever was, but after loading up the mis-printed disks(mentioned in a previous comment and not really a problem as there are only 2 disks) I was a little disappointed that the patching had not kept up with the prevalence of widescreen monitors. I was not disappointed for long however as a quick search soon turned up "The Gibberlings Three" site which has mods and improvements galore.Besides lovingly crafted game enhancing tweaks it also has a widescreen patch which enables you to input your desired resolution and works perfectly. I am eternally grateful to these dedicated modding communities who enable classics such as this, to be rediscovered and enjoyed on modern computer systems,

I played this game quite a few years ago but it kept crashing. Eventually I put it down and decided a year or so ago to have another bash with a different copy. Don't worry if you are horrified with the graphics when you first start playing it, that is quite normal. When you get over the initial shock, then you get used to it and the gameplay really shines through.I thought that the playability and versatility of this game is amazing and for all of those AD&D fans out there, this is a great game. Sadly, it was never followed up and there has never quite been a game like it that I have found anyway!

Best RPG of all time. Ever.As other reviews have stated - Modren RPGs, the mass effects, the dragon age... They all mimic this game.Pick a team of 6 adventurers from a pretty wide cast of NPCs, all with different personalities and motivations. Go on a crazy adventure around a magical, expansive and immersive world. Save your soul from the god of murder.Yes, they are all standard themes in fantasy movies, games, books, whatever... but simply for immersion, this game is excellent.Graphics are outdated by miles now, and to be honest, that doesn't matter one bit.Voice acting is excellent too.

This game is awesome. That point has already been made plenty of times.Just a point I would like to make, when I got the box-set from Amazon, the labeling on the discs was wrong. Shadows of Amn was labeled Throne of Bhaal and vice versa.Is this just a problem I experienced?

A long and very fun game (or rather 2 games that feels like one). Some frustrating encounters with enemies you don't know how to beat, and I had find the information on the Internet. But overall it's brilliant with the best spells for mages ever made.

Can't beat a classic, had hours of fun on this game ( mostly restarting with new characters as I'm really indecisive lol ) and felt a lot of nostalgia throughout. No problems at all.

Good fun game and glad I took a chance and bought it, genuine in genuine box. Have ordered from them before and would order again, and would certainly recommend to a friend.

It's as good as that Clint Eastwood movie where he hangs out with a big orange monkey and gets into fights with all sorts. It's nails.
