It hardly seems worthwhile writing a review when you have read what others have said. I have used a bowsaw every week for years and have tried cheap blades and all the top brands and BAHCO are simply the best. I won't use anything else. They cut faster, and last far longer than the next best, so don't waste you time or money on other blades. Just make sure you de-tension the blade at the end of the day. If it's wet at the end of the day, then a quick spray with WD40 is sensible and refit the blade guard if you haven't lost it! They may appear expensive but they last so much longer and cut so much quicker you won't buy anything else after you have tried a BAHCO blade. These are for green wood but work well with dry wood but it's always best to use the correct blade.

I've tried less reputable make blades and they neither work as well nor last as long. I suspect that the qualities that make the difference are: a better grade of tool steel (though of course no way of telling by inspection alone); a better point-hardening process (ditto); and a wider set to the teeth - which you can see with the naked eye and in use. This last property is what cuts a channel through the fibres of the wood that is wide enough for the blade to pass through after the teeth without binding on the ends of the cut wood fibres. This (binding) is the thing which, when things don't go well, makes it such an effort to push/pull the saw through the wood, and which wears you out quicker than anything else.

It does what ir says on the tin, cuts which is all anyone would expect, very pleased with this blade.Bahco products are renowned for quality and when i was employed in the fire service, all our cutting and spreading tools for use in road crashes were of Bacho origin, they never let us down and i highly doubt this blade will either.A friend who is a retired forestry worker reckoned they used these particular blades and their lifespan was around 40 hours cutting before needing replacing, it doesn't seem much until you realise that it is 40 hours continuous cutting which i think is quite impressive.Of course if you try to cut nails or stones it won't last long but look after it, and it will.

I purchased the Bahco 23-24 Raker Tooth Hp blade for 'wet' wood as I needed to cut down some hefty branches, I did a bit of research regarding blades, I just assumed one blade would do all, so after a little reading up on the matter I purchased both the Bahco 10-24-51 Bowsaw 24In (with a blade for dry wood) and the Bahco 23-24 Raker (wet wood) for less than I could buy the Bowsaw and wet blade combination?, effectively getting one blade for free.., anyway I swapped the blades over and began to cut down branches with ease, this blade is super sharp it made light work of the job, so in conclusion if you need to cut 'wet' wood, buy this blade, I doubt there's a better blade on the market.

An excellent product. I have a frozen shoulder and I have to use my other arm for sawing wood. But no problem! This blade cuts through large logs easily, and in a week I,have demolished a whole pile of macrocarpa logs, cutting them into pieces short enough to split with the maul. When I first ordered the product, the vendor send me a blade of too short a length. However they send a replacement post haste and I received it 2 days later. They didn't want me to send back the 21" version so it will probably go to charity. I will certainly buy another one from this vendor when the time comes.

I replaced both my 30in and 36 in blades recently as I had a forestry licence for a limited period and wanted to maximise my time and effort.. Both blades were excellent and went through tree trunks in excess of 300mm no problem. OK some effort is required when cutting through trees of this size but in comparison to blades I used years ago as a farm worker there is no comparison with these blades as the effort reuqired is much less. I would recommend these blades to anyone where you cannot use a chainsaw or for odd cutting jobs on green wood. Great price too.

I replaced the original bowsaw blade with this one and really was not expecting a great deal of difference , however the difference is very noticeable . I have just completed the cropping back of 5 mature trees and then sawing the offcuts to log fire size . The entire project was undertaken with a basic bowsaw and this blade . I am very impressed with its performance and have now ordered another one as a back-up . This blade has undoubtedly saved me hours of additional work and effort and is still in good working condition . Well worth the 5 stars .

Bought this to replace the knackered old peg tooth blade that was on my saw.Wow! What a difference. Can't tell you how easy it makes cutting green wood.I cut through a 10 inch diameter tree branch in 5 minutes with this (timed it).No binding, no twisting of the cut, it doesn't even get harder to saw as you go through. It just sliced through in a straight line until the frame hit the log.If you're thinking about buying a cheaper blade, don't!The time you save will make up the price difference on the first log you cut with this one.

I bought this together with a Bahco 10-30-51 Bow Saw because the blade that comes with the saw is set to cut dry wood. This blade is set to cut live/green wood. it does so effortlessly. If you are cutting a horizontal branch (or a felled log) you hardly need to put any pressure on the saw; the saw's weight is enough to perform sufficient cutting action. In this manner, it takes me about 10 passes to cut through a 2" branch. This is an essential addtion to the Bow Saw to make it univerally useful.

A knife through butter comes to mind. Yes that good. I've sawn all our winter logs with one blade so far. I really didn't expect to find a blade so good. No pushing, no forcing, just let the weight of the Bowsaw do the work. The only tip i have found useful is to spray GT85 on the blade before and after use. The steel is such good quality, that it can be effected by prolific rusting when left under cover outside. Great blade thank you.

After years of use, my original blade finally snapped. I selected this one as it is specifically designed for cutting green wood, and it makes a huge difference compared to the original, multi-purpose blade supplied with the saw. It's a very sharp (as you'd expect), has little flex and rips through green wood in no time. With hindsight I ought to have replaced the blade a lot earlier, and saved myself a lot of effort.

Yes I know, it's only a bow saw blade but it sure beats the ones my husband gave me to use & then said it was the way I used them that was the problem!Er, nope! A great blade that had a large old apple tree down in minutes & all the branches sawn up... no sweat. The right tool for the job makes it a doddle & this sawblade is the business! Mmmm now what can I cut up now.....Robert.... you're next!

Bought 2 of these for my Dad for Xmas. An odd present but it's what he asked for because despite being 87 he still cuts firewood by hand daily. Said these are some of the best, sharpest blades he's ever used in the past 70 years and cut through hardwood such as oak with unbelievably minimum effort. Can't recommend them highly enough....so I said I will pass on the review on his behalf.

I do a lot of conservation work, mainly coppicing of willow, hazel and ash trunks of around 20-40cms diameter. The raker tooth blade is essential and nearly as easy to use as a chain saw, but better for one's health. The Bahco brand is very dependable and long lasting if the blade is lubricated immediately after use.

Used my bowsaw with this replacement blade to thin out some overcrowded trees in my local Pocket Park. Was able to fell trees of up to 100mm diameter with minimal effort, and very little tendency for the blade to stick. As the saying goes, 'Like a knife through butter.' Impressive performance at a reasonable price.
