I have found this gate to be absolutely brilliant after buying several Lindham gates which were useless due to the lack of range of top and bottom adjustment. The reason the gates are good is they are very simple to put up in literally minutes, easy to open with a positve click close mechanism and as the description says you can easily fit it correctly with the pressure indicators. But far and away the best thing about this gate which others fail on is the adjustability of the top and bottom fittings which are very extensive from about 3cm-10cm (up to about 20cm in the case of the Y-spindles mentioned below) top and bottom each side meaning the gate can be fitted where you have a wide skirting board to accommodate or uneven walls etc.

purchased this product to prevent the dog from going upstairs and, as the banister has spindles and it doesn't actually include the final step which is curved, it wasn't suitable for a standard safety gate with screwed fixings. the only advice I would pass on is - if you don't have a perfectly straight stairway and intend to use this on a stair tread rather than at the foot of the stairway - take time to actually measure the width from wall to wall as you may need an extender piece. suits my needs (dog no longer interested in going upstairs), great value for money and fast delivery; the only negative comments would be that I am not sure this gate would be as secure as a screw mounted version in ensuring the safety of small children - it will move if weight is thrown against it.

Ordered this product after looking around at a number of stair gates. I like this gate in particular because it seemed very easy to use, the pressure fit is very important as I needed to put at the top of my stairs and didn't want to be drilling into my bannister.The Items arrived and was just as expected, very very easy to fit together with clear instructions. I also needed to order the extension kit as in all new build houses the size of the door ways is 83cm, but as with the stair gate this was really clear on how to put together.I am so please that I will be ordering a second one of these to keep our son out of the cat litter tray!I would defiantly recommend this item, good quality build,

I've had quite a few stairgates over time to stop my dog from being able to get upstairs, at first I was dubious at how solid it would be when pressed against the wall but it is strong enough that it feels like it is fixed to the wall. I also bought with this an extension which Amazon recommended is the correct extension for this gate. Sadly I had to hacksaw the two vertical metal poles as they seemed to be for a taller gate.Minus this little adjustment of the extension this gate has been a very good purchase and won't leave the walls in a complete mess when I remove it. The anti-child buttons and lever are very good but can be slightly tough when you first get it.

I bought three of these to create safe play area for our newly crawling/pulling up baby. Area is in the centre of house so I wanted something high quality (not plasticky-looking), easy to operate frequently, and able to fit in variety of doorway sizes, including a wide opening between kitchen island and wall which required two extension sections. These are doing the job perfectly and couldn't be happier with them. Clever features include a space designed into base of gate to prevent baby's fingers getting slammed, and also the gate doesn't freely swing if someone forgets to properly latch. Great product at great value.

I bought 3 of these gates to keep my 1 year old son safe! I love them, it was SO easy to put in place, took under 5 minutes for each gate, there's no gluing silly plastic cups to the wall, no drilling holes, just put the gate between the door frame and screw the bolts tight, it even comes with the spanner! These gates look awesome and fit in with house decor, I have black carpets and black and white wallpaper so yeh love these gates, I've had safety gates before as I have 2 other children who are 7 and 5 now, I had the lindum gates with them but these ones are a mile better, would definately recomend them :)

I purchased this gate for my one year old grandson. I would agree with most of the positive comments made by previous reviews what i didn't see in any of the reviews i read was that the safety latch on the gate is very fiddly if not awkward to open. I struggle to open it one handed which i thought is how it should work if carrying toddler in the other arm!Now i'm not sure if i am being a little hasty in what i say and may be with a bit of use and take away the newness and stiffness of the product it might be come easier to open one handed.Otherwise a good buy and certainly very easy to fit and robust.

Bought two of these gates along with the extenders and I do have to say that they are excellent and there is no chance a toddler is pulling these down if affixed correctly, which i suppose is all you really want from your stair gate..My only thing would be that the amount of pressure needed to tighten the gate is a lot in order to prevent it moving which is to be expected, but both myself and a friend who recommended the gate have issue with it actually pushing out the wooden post of the staircase from the floor due to the pressure.. It could be to do with the shoddy workmanship of our homes though!

Bought a stairgate from Argos that managed to disintegrate after a couple of weeks use under only the slightest pressure. Luckily, I only have one to prevent my dog going upstairs; because I dread to think what could have happened if it had been a toddler.This one cost £5 more & hasn't moved a millimetre since being installed. Really solid bit of kit that I can see will no doubt out last both me & the dog!I don't have kids, so don't know exactly what a parent looks for in one of these, but as far as safety goes, I doubt you'd find anything better.

We fought this to replace a wooden one my 3 year son had worked out how to use. Now my son is good on the stairs but I'm disabled and cannot keep chasing him up and downstairs so needed a solid gate to fit the door of the living room to stop him going up. I'm not a fan of the white ones as the chip and rust I like more classy looking ones, plus the White ones tend to bigger spaces my space was 74cm this fit the space to a tee the locking mechanism is just good enough for me to open but hard enough for Harry not to. Perfect in every way

The gate arrived very well packed. It was very easy to install without the instructions (although instruction are included). The gates locks easily yet securely for peace of mind. I've purchased this gate for use with dogs rather than children. It works very well and is high enough that the dogs can't jump over.The gate can open inwards and outwards for ease.I will be purchasing a second gate on Friday. The price of this particular gate is very low and reasonable, especially for the BabyDan brand. I'm really impressed.

Fantastic gate. Purchased for my son's room. I have this style only wider for my stairs and it's the only gate my 6 year old struggles with, due to having to lift the handle while pushing the button and then lifting up the gate to open also, so when my little boy went into his own room I searched for the correct width in this style so my daughter couldn't attempt to go and wake up her little play mate. Fits perfectly, great design, so secure. Very happy.

Had this delivered and was in use within five minutes. I found it very easy to fit. Also like the fact that you have to slightly lift it before it will open. I bought mine to stop my dog getting to under the stairs and chewing my shoes again although I can see how good it would be to stop young children getting to places that would be better for them not too. I do wonder why it is so reasonably priced compared to others I saw as the quality is good.

We purchased the gate to keep our new puppy out of the kitchen, and it has proved a resounding success. It took just a few minutes to fit to the door-frame. The locking mechanism is easy to operate one-handed and seems very secure. Some previous reviewers have stated that the gate may easily be pushed open by a toddler, but our three year-old granddaughter couldn't operate the opening mechanism, even after being shown how to do it.

I managed to put this at top of our stairs with my crawling son pestering me. It fit fine and didn't leave behind any marks on wall/ banister. I had brought two stair gates that you drill in but we were staying at newly decorated home and had to get this one as we didn't want to leave behind any marks. We have moved and I will fix this one to bottom of stairs and the drill gate at top. Would recommend and buy again.
