While I was looking for toys for my little boy who was only 7 months old, I came across this little Einstein's ball on Amazon. I decided to order it, and I am so glad that I have as it has been hugely loved by my two youngest children. It is a simple soft plastic ball. The difference from other rattle we own is the design of it. The whole ball has hexagon shaped holes cut out of the main body of it. This means even small babies can grab at the ball with ease, as no matter where they hold the ball there fingers can tighten around the frame of the ball. The ball is made up of many bright colours making it appealing too even the smallest of children. My little girl is currently using this toy and she loves it as much as my son did.She is only four months old, but she can hold it very easily. It is very light so she can even grab it with just one finger, and as it is not too heavy it will not hurt when little one manages to catch their face with it. We have found this is the only toy she can actually play with independently at this age, and for that reason it is a fantastic first toy. There is a friendly little caterpillar face pictured on the ball, and of course it acts as a rattle so little one is rewarded with the sounds of a bell as they learn to move it around. My daughter really does love this toy, she thinks it is fantastic and of she manages to knock it out of reach she tries to sit up to move towards it. Her little face lights up whenever she sees it, and she never seems to become bored with it.As the child grows a little and is beginning to learn to crawl, again this ball can be used to encourage them. By dropping the ball it rolls across the floor creating a jingle sound. This encourages little one to move towards the noise, and the bright colours visually invite little one to follow. I was unable to find an age recommendation for this toy so I guessed that it would be ok for my seven month old baby, and my daughter is happy playing with it at a much younger age. My children never seem to become bored with this ball. Although it is very simple, they find different ways to play with it so it adapts well. It is very durable lasting two children so far with no signs of wear and tear at all.I would highly recommend this toy to for anyone that has a young child. It is very simple, but the bright colours and rewarding sounds make it perfect for young children. It helps develop find motor skills, and really is a fantastic engaging toy that is very simple. It is very durable as my son used it from when he was seven months old right up until now. He still enjoys rolling it around although he does become a little bored with it after five minutes. Now my youngest daughter plays with this toy, and at such a young age it is the only one she can actually grab on too.

I was given this toy as a gift and we absolutely love it. My baby has been using it since he has been able to hold it. Its colorful, makes enough noise, but is not too loud and very easy to play. We started using this when he was 3 months old, he is now 7 months but still loves it although he has thrown his other rattles and soft toys away. It also helps that its made from a very soft plastic as my baby loved hitting it on the bouncer and would sometimes end up hitting himself as well. Some of the reviews have mentioned screws and we keep an eye on them. None of them have become loose or are in danger of coming off. They have been tightly fixed. This is such a lovely toy,a must have for every little baby as it can provide hours of amusement and interest. I also cold sterilize this toy every few weeks and is perfectly fine. Another use for me has been attaching the ball to the buggy, which is very easily done.I can see my little one using this toy at least until he learns to crawl and can follow it. Along with Sophie, I think its one of the best gifts we have received

I was surprised by the size of this ball when it arrived. At about the size of a grapefruit, it's smaller than I had expected. Not to worry though, this makes it an ideal size for our 7 month-old to get to grips with. It's not very heavy so is easily picked up and shaken around.Made from a slightly flexible rubberised plastic, it's open construction means that little fingers can easily grab hold and pick it up. The rattle ball inside the main ball makes it interesting to shake around and the baby einstein caterpillar round the outside gives some harder surfaces that our little one likes to chew on.The open hexagon design means that the ball isn't very round,so it won't roll very far - which is a good thing as it means you're not having to constantly fetch it when it gets dropped - if it does roll, it will simply roll far enough away to encourage baby to crawl and fetch it.

Fun, safe, and easy to hold. This toy can satisfy a wide age range so it can grow with the family. My sister bought this toy for her daughter (who still loved it at 1 year), while she was visiting with it, my daughter (3 years) absconded with it. We've since had twin boys and it has been an amazing first toy! They've been able to hold it since around four and a half months. It's lightweight and super easy to grip with tiny hands (one of the boys is very small still, being only 12 pounds at 6 months). It's built of quality materials and is easy to clean, you can even unscrew it if your child has been extra creative in the mess making category. We've just ordered a Second so the boys don't have to take turns anymore. This is going to be my go to gift for anyone who's about to have a baby.

My 4 month old loves this and I like that she has something different to a rattle/teddy/comforter to play with. She's fascinated by this. Makes a sound due to the ball inside and brightly coloured and easy for her to grip and hold and according to her try to eat.Only thing which I'm cautious of and not sure if will be a problem at all is the gaps right close to the main body each side is attached to as a lot smaller so could baby catch fingers possibly? So I always supervise her with this...and also the screws they seem secure but if I got them wet would they degrade? When I clean the toy? Other than that it's now my favourite toy for her.

Bought this for our daughter 3 years ago. She loved it. Her little brother, nearly 8 months old, is now getting good use out of it too! The design means it's easy for little baby hands to grab hold of. It also "grows" with the baby, because the harder you roll it, the further it will travel. Which is great at the moment, because he gets the gist of rolling a ball, but it doesn't go too far away from him, and its easy to play rolling games with him. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Not sure what the difference is between this and the one at nearly £13, but they look very VERY similar...and this is great, especially at this price!

Item took just over 2 weeks to arrive, so bear this in mind if you need the item in a rush. Lovely little ball and will make a great stocking filler for my 6 month old. I take my son to baby sensory classes and they use a very similar ball there for the babies to play with as it helps develop their fine motor skills and teaches them to grip. Brightly coloured and fun to play with. I gave it to my baby to hold for a few mins once I opened the packaging it arrived in and he seemed to get excited by it. Good price for a good product, would def recommend.

My baby likes to shake it and bring it to his mouth, and it's one of his favourites, so I'll give it a high rating. I don't like it because: 1) it is not very flexible, and for my baby it's the same as if it was rock solid; 2) plastic does not seem of good quality; 3) because of the side bug, it does not really roll; 4) the baby always wants to chew the side bug, but I think its rough edges are not to be trusted; 4) it won't make your baby more intelligent, as the 'Einstein' might suggest, it's just an easy grip with a bell inside.

My baby loves this ball, hes 7months and 2 weeks old and it's been very easy for him to hold and play with sitting up or laying down he has great control the space between make it super easy for small hands to use effectively! It's very colourful and he loves the sound of the small ball inside. I haven't yet tried to clean it thoroughly, but I use milton wipes which is easy enough. I assume it would be easy to clean if you put in a small bowl with a milton tablet for few minutes I assume would be totally fine. Nice ball.

My son LOVES this toy. He loved gripping and shaking it when he was younger (and chewing on it of course), now he's on the move he loves batting it about and crawling after it. Not so heavy that he cries if he accidentally whacks himself with it- but robust enough that it hasn't broken yet after many months of play. A firm favorite with his friends when they come to play, and keeps him occupied during nappy changes. Only downside is it's a bit fiddly to clean- but a soak in soapy water usually does the trick for me.

My son really likes this toy. It's one of his favorites. He has been playing with it since he was 4 months old. Semi easy to grab and not very easy to eat(but that is a good thing). It has a rattle inside that takes his attention each time he is upset or distracted. Also it's easy to wash. And I think the price is really good for this product. I personally have it attached to a dummy holder and clip it either to my baby's clothes or to the buggy so it doesn't fall on the floor all the time!

My daughter loves this toy its perfect for her to grab onto and its not heavy for her to pick up and its not too small or too big! She loves it, she always notices it and grabs for it shes 5 months now but shes loved it for a few months now and hasn't gone off it. Also I think it will be great for when she can fully sit up herself and will be good to play games together rolling it back and forth to each other. So I think it is well worth it and will last a long while

My 4 month old loves this ball. It's great dexterity practice for his little fingers and the ball with a bell inside grabs his attention. It's especially fun for him to pick up and throw down which has the added benefit of something we can play with together at this age. There are some visible screws on the inside but they haven't bothered him and he even sticks his tongue in the holes sometimes trying to teeth on this (glad its easy to clean).

Baby was approaching 5 months, wanted something a bit more tactile to play with. This toy has a good sound and it moves and has the very likeable caterpillar face on it that all babies seem to love. Now baby is nearly 6 months I am rolling it as crawling starts......baby loves to pick it up...it's great to pick up cos the sides are not solid so can easily grasp with fingers and transfer to other hand. I have found it a very versatile toy.

Got this for my 5 month old. When he first saw it, he reached out with both arms to grab it. It was this first time we saw him do that.He is now 7 months old and it is still one of his favourite toys. He isn't crawling yet, so he isn't chasing after it. But now when he flings it out of his reach, he really leans forward to try to get it. So, I don't think it will be long until he is crawling to get it. Great developmental toy.
