Unable to compare this to other styles and types i can only say that this sling is pretty good. It is relatively comfortable, if you're tall then back problems are par for the course with any kind of carrying but the padding is good and support is comfortable. The two 'rails' that are either edge of the fabric can be adjusted so that you can support under the neck and pull the fabric up to support the head, this is something to play around with with your baby - over a bed for safety - but once you can get the right position its magic. Our son is only 7 weeks but now when he won't settle back to sleep after a feed he goes in the sling and within seconds usually closes his eyes. The first time we put him in he went straight to sleep, since then the longest he'll last is 4 mins. It allows me to get on with washing up, cooking and cleaning - as he doesn't like being left in his crib for naps during the day - something we're working on.The manual that comes with is clear and helpful in explaining the ways your baby can sit or lie in it, we've only tried a couple as he is so young but he has slept for 2hrs in it at one point which was really helpful. Not sure how things will progress as he is getting taller by the day and its already hard for me (his dad) to carry him, his mum has a real struggle to carry him already as she is much shorter. One problem in this sense is that to get your baby into the sling you generally have to hold him against your chest and put his legs through the sling which is already over your shoulder. When they are a tiny newborn this is fine but when baby is 2ft and wife is 5ft it becomes a struggle. This may be a problem with all slings?Anyway, as i'm going to be the one at home with him this isn't such an issue for me and carrying him around allows me to get on with things whilst he snoozes - and hopefully as he gets older will allow me to carry him and show him things when he is awake but not able to walk. The fabric is soft and comfortable against his skin and the colour (brown) is nice and simple (e.g. not garish). The only thing i can't say for sure is that the benefits i've found might be possible with any kind of sling? The reason i got this was because i didn't want a 40ft length of material to wrap round and wash but maybe that works for you. If you're a sling novice then i'd do the research and find one that you think will work for you but this one works for me and if it looks like you'd like it then you probably will (if that makes sense). Good luck.

I've bought the Babasling when my baby was 4 weeks old. She had reflux and cried a lot, but she was always happy in this sling and slept very well in it. Now that she's 7 months I use the sling almost daily when we go outside. She can sit in it facing towards me, or sit facing outwards, or she can lie down and sleep when tired. She seems very comfortable in it and it's comfortable for me too, and she prefers this to the pram. I think the biggest problem people have is figuring out how to wear it, but the company has helpful instruction videos on their website. Brilliant product!

Short and simple - there are quite a few bad/ negative reviews of this product along the lines of "it doesn't feel safe" and "it's too hard to use" and "my baby doesn't like it" - what a load of tosh, don't let these people put you off buying this product. Only a person with one brain cell or who hasn't bothered to read the instructions or watch the videos would find it hard to use, it feels perfectly safe and our baby loves it! Simples...

The material is of good quality and the baby enjoys being in the sling. I feel that it is better for younger babies, as now he is becoming more active it is becoming increasingly difficult to support him in it.

Easy to use and baby seems to like it as well, colour could be made more fun but its good if your little one is messy as it would hide any dirty stain.
