Oh Dear, It does seem that some people confuse the words SIMULATOR and all out ACTION. Let me just point out that this game is about 4 years old now and may not be the best of the best but I enjoy this game because of what it is. Don't read the review below and think god 100+ buttons to remember cos that is aload of pap. Firstly YOU take charge of who you want to control, so if you decide to be a pilot, then the odds are that you will find it difficult to fly the plane if your not a real pilot. But the game has a clever ai system so it will fly the plane all the way to the mission and back. I have chosen to be the bombadier because this gives you the job of hitting the target.

First of all, yes, this game does indeed require immense hardware power. And yes, it is very complex to control. But that that had to be expected; it's a flight-sim, not a low-level-actionflyer or ego-shooter. It's the nature of the beast, that it tends to be rather demanding (both on the user and the machine) - look at Falcon 4.0, which at the time brought not only my machine to its knees. And flying a bomber must have had long streches of waiting, so why not reflect that realistically as well; you can always hit ENTER. An aspect that I particularly like about this sim is that you actually have a crew to worry about and interact with (within limits of course), as well as the bomber and the missions.

Wow. Just wow. I say wow about the graphics. About the gameplay. But also about the system requirements.I have played the original B17 (an 1991 game...) and i was stunned by the gameplay of the time. I heard people were busy making a sequeland i was immediatly all attention. Much of the promises are kept: Intense gameplay; stunning graphics etc. But two important things are unknown to potential buyers. 1) The game requires a hell of a machine to run properly and 2) the game is full of bugs. Also a big miss is the lack of multiplay. That was scrapped because of lack of time. If wayward studios had worked a little bit longer at the bugs and added multiplay,

I can't believe how great this game is.....first of all...the reality..you have to take care of 10 guys to and from German occupied Europe..or 60 guys playing commander... But I have to say....the graphics are awesome...from the sparks that your bullits make when hitting the enemy fighters down to the flak explosions... It's a game like none other..I really have my emotions in it, like the other day...Was going over Germany on a fairly easy mission...flak opened up as it always do....but then one of my Fortresses had a direct hit in the left wing...Oh NO! I thought....but then I saw it spinning toward one of the other bombers........and there was nothing I could do!!

This is a game that has long been in development and I would say that, in general, it has been worth the wait. Where B17 scores over most flight sims is the sheer immersion and atmosphere of the game. There are times when you feel that you really understand what these guys went through, on both sides. Graphics are very, very, good, with the best implementation of Transformation and Lighting I have come across. Don't try this on a low spec machine though, as this game requires an awful lot of horsepower to run convincingly. For once, we have a flight sim that lives up to the hype. I will be surprised if I'm not still playing it this time next year!

Got to be the best value for money flight sim I have ever Had the pleasure to put on my pc. You have the choice to play all the crew positions In a flying fortress, or get the chance to fly any of the figthers in the game. Lining up the bomb sight cross hairs, I've never been so on the edge of my seat. You also have the choice of commanding a whole squadron of "forts" right down to picking targets, crews and aircraft. Can't recommend it highly enough. Don't take it from me though buy it and find out for yourself!

A game who is easy to learn if you take the time for it. It's a very proffesionel game. From the briefing of yor flight, inspection of the plain to then rally take off you have to go through all the procedures. However to make a really pleasure of this game you need a very good video card.
