Its a love/hate thing for me, even though I cant stop listening to them.I'm no stranger to hi-fi, I have loads of it, some even higher end as many like to call it, and I admit I'm an audiophile that many often go out of their way to say they are not, or at least say they're not really one :)These cans are next level resolution and detail! But also have 'some' music enjoyability. I can see why some compare these to the Sennheiser HD800 high-end flagship headphones. The detail on these MSR7 is unreal. But even with this resolution personally I wouldn't say they are any good for monitoring purposes either, they are more music focused. They've actually made me revaluate the detail that is in a lot of the music I've enjoyed for years. The only downside is they are not the nicest sounding of headphones. They are a bit aggressive to be honest and even harsh at times but because they are so amazing at other things I'm going to have to keep them, and listen to them despite this flaw. They are not really horrible, they can be pretty musical as well but there's just a bit of an edge to them. Even the Audio Technica ATH-M40X has a better overall sound and has more tonal accuracy. Way better in fact, instruments and vocals sound as they are supposed to, in comparison the MSR7 can even just sound borderline horrible at times. So if these other things are your top priority for you beware (and they are for me), but on saying that the 7s are just a 'I have to still listen'. They are staying even with their faults. An odd but brilliant headphone.I've had some really good equipment over the years, some of it costing a fair whack of money. But listening to familiar stuff on these is like hearing it as if I have never heard it, they are just phenomenal. It's the first ever time I've listened to something which is classed as hi-res which I've thought that actually seriously means something. I thought I'd heard it all but these seriously take it to another level, and I'm willing to forgive their not so perfect sound for that, this is a new experience of listening into musical recordings.

Fantastic headphones. They are clear and bright, very detailed, and the bass is there but that all depends on the track. If it's not there in the original recording you are not going to get it with these headphones. I've listened to some tracks that do have bass, and it's sublime. The treble is forward, which I like personally. You can always adjust with an equaliser like I do. Some may scoff at that but for me it's important to get the sound you like. I enjoy all my tracks with less mid, but with a tad more bass and treble to make the sound clear and open. Another important thing to note is not all recordings are created equal, some are pretty terrible to be honest, and these headphones will make it VERY obvious.Piano and aquostic guitars sound fantastic. Voices can be a bit too bright (again, change the equalizer settings a bit). I listen to Depeche Mode and other electronic music, as well as the likes of London Grammar. Go onto a music streaming site and find the tracks that give your headphones a good workout and listen to the quality for yourselves, I think you will be impressed. I find the heaphones very comfortable even with extended use, I've never found them tight, maybe I have a small head. I hope you at least give them a try.

What a pair of headphones! Oh my!My first Amazon review - at least in recent years. I feel so strongly to review these and share with everyone. These headphones are just plain amazing given the price! If you enjoy the detail, clarity, bright highs, and forward sound, strong and controlled bass, flat mids, and of course don't have £500+ to spend, these are the go to headphones. Before I settled on these, I tried the famous Audio Technica m50x, sennheiser Momentum 2.0, and Sony MDR-1A, which are all around the similar sub £200 mark. Each one of those had flaws that I could not bear, either the highs were not bright, or lack of clarity, or messy boomy lows, or very distant sounds, you name it.The sound these headphones produce is such an excitement, and they bring my old musics to a completely new level. No cons for me, yes they may not be as comfortable as Sony 1A or momentum 2.0, but they are not bad at all, you just need to give it a couple of weeks to let it flex up.One last thing to mention, you got to give these time to burn, they sounded more and more amazing and are much better now (3 weeks after purchase) than the first day.

These headphones sound absolutely amazing. The bass is thick and smooth, the treble is all there as well and everything in between. These perform excellently across a wide frequency of sounds. I’ve listened to just about every genre of music through them and I don’t want to take them off, every song sounds 10x clearer and fuller. I’ve heard notes that I previously did not know existed in songs I’ve listened to for years. The range of volume is also very impressive and they are very good at containing the sound (very little leakage). They’re not noice cancelling but they do block out most noise (e.g people on the bus, busy streets, noisey roommates etc. Haven’t tried them on a plane yet). They are also really comfortable with memory foam pads and a memory foam headband, they don’t clamp hard at all. However I would say that those with larger than average heads may feel a bit of clamping force. Definitely the best headphones I’ve had to date.

These are sylish headphones and the sound quality is superb across the range not too much bass which to me is great as after listening for a while with others my ears start to hurt but these are just right. Two minor things with these are there isn’t enough padding in the headband which is instantly noticable, however after you wear them a little while you don’t notice. Also they seem to creek a little when you turn them for some reason (add a little wd40 to the top where they turn and the creek is gone), however i can easily overlook these as the sound quality is so great. I can safely say these are the best headphones i’ve ever had and i swapped from the sony m1a to these.

Very great headphones, the sound is superb, sound feels close to open-back headphones, although they're closed, and isolate pretty well, but not everything, as expected, and just as I wanted. Couldn't have wished for a better sound at this price range. Problem is the build quality, more specifically there are squeaks coming from the hinges as the plastic parts are rubbing, I tried using different lubricants to lessen the effect, sadly the solution doesn't last for long. The headband is extremely uncomfortable for long time usage, I had to purchase a headband cover, only for them to be somewhat comfortable, there's very little padding on the headband.

Great precise headphones with a deep detailed clear sound.I've played a range of music through these phones from Joy Division, post punk, to Eclip, drum and base dance music. The base is full and involving and never blurred as so many headphones present. All mid tones are present and rich giving you a full spectrum as the recording artist intended it to be presented to the listener. There is very little to no leakage of sound from this headset, great when sitting in the living room with others. These headphones are not for people with a larger head.

Just spent the last three hours playing jazz, classical and rock through these headphones and really like how they handle the different genres. I am hearing more detail from my music and they handle the genres I like very well. I am not an audiophile but these meet meet my needs. There are a bit tight on my head at the moment but I expect that to change as the headband breaks in. Well recommended.

What a transformation. My denon headphones(pretty good themselves) gave up the ghost, so I invested in these having read some favourable reviews. It's just as though all my music has been remixed! More detail, more space around voices/instruments, better clarity, more natural sound, wonderful. I've just got to re-listen to all my music!

Great build quality. Great sound. Definitely worth the price. However, they can get pretty uncomfortable, especially if you have a large head; these will clamp your head with great force. I've stretched them out over the course of a few weeks so they are better than when I first put them on, but the clamping force is really noticeable.

At first thought they were a bit hot on ears. My previous headphones had foam cups so just a case of getting used to them. Now that I have they are sooo comfy and they do cut out a lot of background noise. Particularly if you like Metallica for example. In games makes sounds very real so game is more immersive.

Great quality of sound, especially if listen to classical music. Bass is a bit reserved, so the sound may seam quite gentle for heavy metal listeners. Very good ventilation and heat dissipation even after hours of using the headphones. Also, noise isolation is very good.

My only problem with these headphones - for now - is that they squeeze on your head so much that you have to adjust their position for time to time.other then totally recommended

Best headphones for this price range. Amazing sound quality and desing! Also, contrary to what i had read, the bass is amazing. Not too strong but it is enough!

Brilliant set of headphones love the sound but - If you've got a big head they sometimes dig in the top after extended periods - Other than that superb.
