After owning these headphones for nearly two years they are still going strong.Pros: They have amazing sound; the lows are not overpowering, the mids stand out and the highs are crispy. I personally don't like headphone which add a load of bass, for my needs these guys are great because the bass is still there but it doesn't come at the cost of losing the mids and the highs. They are ideal for a range of uses; mixing, editing videos, travel and general listening. I have been using these guys for anything and everything, they are good at all of them, the neutral profile of audio-technica headphones makes them super diverse. For the price the build quality has impressed, lasting for almost two years without any troubles and I have not been genital with them, apart from always having them in the case that they came with, which doesn't offer amazing protection, they function and the sound quality has not been diminished. The amount of sound that leaks from these guys is minimal, they are close back after all. Even on full volume on a computer or through an amplifier (not a phone, full volume on a phone is about 2/3 to 3/4 of the sound that these guys can pump out) the sound leaking is not significant but since they can get stupidly loud that isn't too surprising. The comfort, the first 4 hours. They are very comfortable and fit to my head brilliantly. They are light enough for you not really notice them at all but still have a little weight to them to remind you they are there, which I like. The padding is good on the top band and the ear padding is great. The pressure is just right to not hurt your ears and still block out enough sound so you don't have to turn up the volume too high, important on flights.Cons: As for the cons, these are minor and not something I focus on or particularly care about but I thought I would include them so you guys have an idea of the full picture. The comfort, the other side of 4 hours. After about the 4 hour mark of continual use of these headphones your ears will be feeling a bit squished but this rarely happens to me since I am not using them for that much time without having a 10 minute break from usage before this point. Plane travel is the main time where this happens, however after a small break I can get back to listening and not have a problem. The cable is long, 3 meters (roughly 9.8ft) of it. Now some people may love this, but for me it was a case of having a circle of cable towards the end taped up with the right amount cable free. The cable is not inter-changeable like on the ATH-50mx and ATH-40mx but the quality of the cable is great and the 3.5mm jack is strong.Overall these headphones have been great, the cons that I have listed are minor to me compared to the pros. The sound is great, they can get loud when you want them to be loud but are also great on low volume. They can handle all types of music, from EDM to classical and everything in between, voice recordings and other work as well. Build quality is an issue for some I have seen but not for me.Happy listening. Bye now.

I've been using these headphones for just around two weeks now and I haven't had a single issue with them thus far. The sound quality is fantastic and the headphones are not only light, they've very comfortable as well. As highlighted in the product image, they can also fold to make storage and transport easier and it is definitely a great feature because it takes up far less space when not in use - a feature which has allowed me to find somewhere to put the headphones when not in use which was always a point of concern with my last pair.I don't know anything about sound drivers or the like so I'm not going to address the sound quality in technical terms. I can't comment on the midrange they advertise or the frequencies, but with someone who knows the sound of quality audio equipment, these are probably the best over-ear headphones I've owned for home use.The sound is also very well contained within these headphones if you want to take them outside the house/studio with you. Unless you're blasting your music full volume, no noise will leak from these headphones.Comfort wise, as mentioned, these are extremely light and fit large heads (like mine) with ease. However, with some headphones, the ear padding is made with some low grade plastic leather which causes ears to sweat or become uncomfortable over a while of use. These headphones come equipped with some kind of leather padding - I'm not sure if it's real leather but if it isn't - it certainly trumps the faux-leather that come equipped with some lesser branded headphones. All in all, I can't find many flaws with these. The sound quality is everything I expected and more, the comfort is unparalleled by anything I've owned previously and the folding feature is also a very nice bonus for storage and transport purposes. I suppose if I must nitpick, there are small wires that protrude from the headset just above the ear cups where the headphones fold, but unless you keep your headphones close to a set of knives, scissors or other sharp things, I don't think this is much cause for concern provided you treat them delicately.Having said all of this, I've only had them for two weeks, so I'll be sure to update the review should any issues arise, but for now, all I can say is for the price range, I don't think you could do much better.

Having used the M20X, M30X and the M40X i have to say i find the 30's best suited for everyday listening, be it a phone / tablet or through my laptop i find the 30X deliver the most accurate sound due to their slight mid range tuning boost, whilst they are very capable of delivering a heavy bass beat if that is what you like ( i dont ) i find they perform best if fed with a decent input that is either flat or with minimal equalisation, due to the slight mid range bias they can deliver music as it was mixedi use a Cambridge Audio DAC and amp with my laptop and i can truly say that these headphones come alive when used with a decent audio quality from the laptop, being able to hear the multitracks as they were mixed is quite amazing and although i just occasionally find the highs a little too bright these are my go to everyday headphones, they will allow you to hear the bass player hitting the strings or you can crank it up and muddy the sound with a heavy bass beat if you prefer, they will cope well with either but with a bass line playing as it was intended you then get the glorious sound of the other instruments and vocals layered over the top of the bass with the highs making the hair on the back of your neck shiverall these headphones ask is to be fed a reasonable quality audio feed from a phone to high end audio setup and they will do the rest, using Deezer with my ipad is awesome with these and for the price paid they are stunning value.UPDATEHaving used these for some time now i am even more impressed by them, they have mellowed beautifully with the separation and clarity reaching new highs, when new i did feel the highs were a little bright but these are now clear and sweet with no harshness at all, the mids allow every string of the guitars to be heard as though the player was in the room while the bass is still clean and precisewhatever you use to drive these they will respond with a faithful rendition of whatever you are listening to,talking of driving these they are very easy to drive with a mobile or tablet and sound great but pair them with a DAC and an amp and you will be in audio heaven

As a PC gamer I've always been a 'Headset with a mic' person. Until my Creative Fatality's started to conk out on me. And that's the first time I'd ever heard of Audio Technica. A friend of mine recommended the brand but i was still sceptical of brands i never heard of. But if you look through all the video reviews and written reviews for these headphones they're not wrong.I use them for gaming on my PC so the following is what I'm basing it on (with a clip-on mic):These headphones are well worth the money. I'm hearing sounds in game music tracks i've previously couldn't distinguish before and overall sounds are more defined. If you use these for PC gaming then make sure you turn your volume down from 11.I have no idea about the technical terms "mid range" etc... but every sound is crisp and clear. I've listened to music and watch videos with them and they sound very nice.Comfort-wise, these are VERY comfy. They are OVER-THE-EAR headphones and fit very snugly. They clamp just enough to stay in position but not too much to put pressure on the side of your head or ears. I've worn them ALL DAY and they haven't caused me any discomfort. In fact it's always a nice feeling when you put them back on after taking a break. The outer shell is plastic, but it is very well made. I've only had them a few days but they feel sturdy. The cable is a nice length - not to long and not to short. Thicker than your standard headphone cable and even brand new out of the box it's still flexible. It also comes with a screw-on jack for amps and other audio equipment. However like cable is not detachable like some other models. When you compare the specs of these the the M50(x)'s there is a small difference other than the price. All in all i've never been more impressed with headphones than i have been with these. Well worth the money!

These headphones are certainly worth the asking price - and then some: you can hear every nuance and detail in the music played through them. The instruments can all easily be heard and told apart from one another. Basslines can be listened to with ease - that said, they are not overpowering, unlike some headphones. Drums and cymbals do not take over the whole song, but can be heard with clarity and ease - indeed, them and other percussion instruments can be heard throughout, easily being told apart. The soundstage on these cans is large and expansive; they are, after all, advertised as studio monitors, and do not disappoint in that regard. When compared to a pair of a similar price range, such as the AKG K451's (actually £39 at the time of writing), the difference is practically night and day. Take U2's Beautiful Day - through these, the song's various elements (strings, guitars, Adam's pulsating bassline, Larry's crashing cymbals/drums, Bono/Edge's echoing backing vocals) can all be heard and distinguished from one another; through the AKGs, many of these elements are lost, no doubt due in part to the far smaller soundstage. Blur's Coffee and TV is another example - Dave Rowntree's tambourine can be heard clearly, an element I never even knew was there until listening through these!I will add that both songs were FLAC files, a format these headphones were clearly made for. That said, MP3/AAC files also sound excellent with these cans, but there is slightly less clarity owing to the lower quality format. The headphones themselves are comfortable: they are over-ear, so your ears will fit inside the actual cans (how well, of course, will depend on the size of your ears). They can be uncomfortable when wearing them around your neck, but that, in my opinion, is a small price to pay for such excellent sound quality.

I bought the Audio-Technica ATH-M30X to use mainly with my music keyboards. They are classified as studio headphones and the overall frequency response is well balanced with no extra emphasis given to bass frequencies - as in the case of DJ & gaming headphones. I also use them to listen to audio on my PC, Laptop and Hi-Fi and adjust the mixer frequency response on these devices to suit whatever is being played and these headphones respond admirably.Previously I was used to "in the ear" and very lightweight models and found the Audio-Technica ATH-M30X to be close fitting, enclosing the ears completely, which took me a little while to get used to.They may not block out external noises entirely but deadens them well enough for them not to be a problem to me while playing keyboards. I've had no complaints from other people about hearing my music from them, which I play at a moderate level that I find comfortable. Before I bought these I looked at a wide range of manufacturers and models and read personal and technical reviews on the internet. A very important point to bear in mind when buying headphones (in order to obtain optimum performance) is to buy a pair with similar impedance (measured in ohms) as close as possible to the impedance of the device they are being used with, which can be found in the makers specification documentation.Overall, I am very pleased with my Audio-Technica ATH-M30X headphones as they are ideal for the purpose for which I bought them. They are also well made and the cabling is not at all flimsy - as I have read about in reviews of other (and in some cases more expensive) models. They also come with a 6.35 mm jack plug fitted that can be unscrewed to reveal a 3.5 mm miniature inside - making them universal in use.

After about a year of suffering with uncomfortable Sennheiser headphones I decided to make the Switch to Audio Technica. I can put my hand on my heart here and say this is the best pair of headphones I've ever used.Over the last five or so years I've experimented with a lot of headphones for both studio and home use, from AKG and Sennheiser to some questionable Skullcandy ones for my mobile. Yet previous to purchasing these I hadn't used Audio Technica headphones. so I was very pleasantly surprised when these arrived.Firstly, I wear glasses so it is very difficult for me to find comfortable over ear headphones. previous pairs have crushed my glasses into my head and such so comfort is more or less paramount for me.Although after 2 hours or so I have to take them off for 5 mins due to the classic "Hot ear" problem, I have not yet suffered from issues regarding my glasses, despite after mixing for quite a while today.Plus, the sound quality is amazing, with great low end and crystal clear mid and high end as well I copuld not recommend these enough for any use be it home, studio, or as I sometimes do, gaming. Even if boost the Low end EQ to max it doesn't suffer from the "farty bass" some pairs do.Overall 10/10.

Super comfortable - they won't crush your cranium, and despite I have fairly large ears they cover them perfectly. I use them 4 or 5 hours a day without any hearing fatigue at respectable listening levels. The build quality is great - even though they fold on to themselves, they aren't even the tiniest bit flimsy. Cable is definitely long enough and very thick, almost impossible to tangle even. The downside is that using them on the go is a little awkward. Theres virtually no sound leakage however, and I've driven them loud to test as I work on a desk surrounded by other people. The sound quality is outstanding.Frequency response seems quite flat - crisp and clear sound yet still chunky without any sort of bias towards the very high and bottom ends you can find on gimmicky fashion headphones such as beats. Stereo image is wide and air yet focused.I use these for normal listening while I work, but also for referencing mixes when I'm on the studio. They measure up fairly well with my Sennheiser HD600 considering the price, and provides a slightly different perspective on my mixes - these are closed back (like the majority of consumer headphones out there) as opposed to the sennies.

I bought them during the Amazon warehouse deals, for a significant discount. It was an impulse buy and I have absolutely no buyer's remorse. I am not very familiar with technical audio-related terms, and so I speak for the average consumer. They work very well; so well, in fact, that I am now able to hear things in music that I never heard before. The experience is so enriching. As for comfort, it depends on how large your ears are and how long you keep them on your head. Personally, I have larger than average ear-size and so, at most, I keep them on for 3 hours before taking them off becomes necessary. Many of the reviews that I read, on Amazon and elsewhere, suggested that that MH30x is the sweet-spot in the series,as they get only marginally better the higher up you go (40, 50 and 75). When compared to those by Senheiser, Bose, Sony, etc... in the same price range, they far outperform the competition. Definitely a recommended purchase.

I'm not pro at all the different types of headphones but i did some research.I must say that the delivery was really fast!.. like next day fast! the headphones are presented nicely and come with a nice soft bag to put them in you also get a 6.3mm gold plated adapter. The quality of the headphones are amazing! feel strong and sturdy, built to last! The wire is very long so you wont have a problem if your plugging it in quite far away. They are super comfy i fort i would have to get use to them but no was fine from the get go, they do get a bit worm after extensive use (4-5hours) but not much! Now for the sound as i said i'm not a super nerd when it comes to sound by any means but WOW!they sound good especially for the price!! they are clear with good bass not to over the top but nice and clear!!If you are looking for professional good sound for a very good price then then ATH-M30x are perfect!!

For 45 pounds these headphones were a steal! I mostly use them in cs:go and to be honest they're too clear, in fact they're so clear that sometimes I get confused whether the footsteps I hear are far or near.Music wise they're great, bass, mids and highs are very responsive and clear enough whether you're listening to dubstep, heavy metal, classic rock or any other genre. I was listening to some Pink Floyd songs and discovered sounds that I couldn't hear before with other headphones, so a big thumbs up there. The only thing that I've got mixed feelings about is cable lenght: 3m of cable can be a bit too much, especially when you're trying to stuff it all in your pocket. When I'm at home and I want to lay down in bed and listen to some music I can easily do so.TL:DRPerfect for gaming, perfect for music, cable is too long but it's a good trade-off.

An outstanding sound from a very comfortable set of headphones. The materials are clearly premium and as such I have worn this for hours on end over the past two years with ease. The diameter of the inner foam padding allows for a very large ear whilst also shaping around your ear.The adjuster for the head section is firm and has a positive feel. The wire is really generous in length and as result it is never an issue. They are wired and as such the sound quality is as good as if not better than a Bose set I also have. They are a fraction of the price of the Bose. These have had extesive use of the past few years and are still going strong. No degrading in sound over time. So I am very pleased.I would buy these again should the pair I have fail.I would recommend these to any audiophiles out there.Hope this helps someone :-)

Compared to the M40X, the M30X does indeed come up short. The M30X seems to be optimised for voices, which means that most other sounds suffer in the midrange and especially the bass. It's not much of an improvement over my Logitech UE4000 for example, which is a cheaper and lower-quality headset both in materials and sound. It does have decent build quality and the ability to collapse is always welcome. However, the straight cable is simply way too long. Without the ability to change cables, it really does drag down this otherwise good set of headphones. When the M40X is barely 20GBP more expensive (that gap compared to the 50GBP gap between the M40X and M50X) whilst offering a removable cable,a much more convenient coiled cable, and a much more neutral and "cleaner" sound, taking the higher end model is a no-brainer.

These are the best headphones I have ever owned.- Sound is superb and clear. Even at very high volumes there is no distortion. (I had to set up the equalizers to bring it to my liking, but after that is just amazing).- Comfort is great – they are light enough; headband is soft but firm; ear cups are soft and cover my ears perfectly without pressuring them.- Sound isolation is perfect.- Ear cups are attached with a flexible mechanism to the headband, making it easy to fit on your head, but once you adjust the proper position for your head they stay that way so you don’t have to adjust them every time you wear them.- The ear cups fold inwards the headband making it very easy to pack the headphones.- The cable is long and sturdy.Basically these headphones have no cons, only pros. Value for money is really great.

Using these for my Music tech course as well as casual listening. One con (that could actually equally be a pro) is the wire is incredibly long, and can make the wire prone to breaking if you're near your monitor (such as running it over on your wheelie chair by accident). These are slightly more affordable than the top of the range M50Xs, but still fantastic quality and barely any noticeable difference in sound quality, though the M50xs are a little more practical. Absolutely worth the money.-Added Information-I'm now using these for gaming too, just because of their fantastic sound response and long term comfort. When mine break (if mine break) I'll be sure to buy these again or a later model. If you're a gamer and not a big spender (or even if you are) these do the job spectacularly!
