These are good headphones. They’re pretty comfortable, have touch sensitive controls, have cool lights on the side and the sound quality is really great. They’re slightly let down by a few annoying points, but nothing that should deter you from buying them.Overview aside, some more detail: they connect via USB (PC) to micro-USB (in the headset). I have to say, it is a bit weird having the lights on the outside of the earphones, because you obviously can't see them yourself! The touch controls on the outside do work - you can play / pause, turn the volume up and skip a track by tapping on the earphone ... but honestly, the chances of getting it wrong, or not having it register just make it a bit redundant in my opinion. Also, it sometimes pauses or skips a track when you take the headphones off because ... yep, you guessed it - it's touch sensitive.I do like the way that the microphone slides out of the headset itself - that's pretty nifty. The overall build quality of the headphones is good - they feel solid, and they do encapsulate your ears well, so they're a bit naturally noise-isolating. The sound quality is good - a little bassy, but that's no bad thing. They do look pretty cool - matt grey plastic and the shiny caps on the ears. The unboxing is a huge pleasure - the box comes apart in two angular halves, and they're presented very nicely. You can't adjust the width of the headphones and the weight does seem to lie pretty heavily on the top of your head. Once you adjust, it's ok, but I did find them quite narrow - the good thing about the oval-shaped ear cushions is that you don't get trapped ears, but I did find that I could feel the pressure around my ears after I'd taken them off because they were a bit too narrow.Aura (the ROG software) doesn't download automatically, which is either annoying or good - I can't decide. There's no real instructions to speak of - just a link to download Aura. The install wizard doesn't give you the option to choose where to install it - that's quite bad for a 'real' gamer who is likely to have an SSD and a HDD on the same rig. Come on ROG - live up to your name! The configuration options are quite limited - you can have static colour, breathing and colour cycle.I would have appreciated some help with the interchangeable earpads – it comes with both leather-feel, and like a fabricy mesh, but do I just pull them off? I don't really want to damage a £125 headset, but resorting to google feels a bit like a lame option. I downloaded the quick start guide - which at 26mb is more than three times the size of the driver ... and is completely useless. It’s just a reprint of what you get in the box. There's nothing on the FAQ online. So I just went for it and gently pulled off the cushions so you don't have to. And that is my advice; don't. They come off easily enough, but fitting them back on again is pretty fiddly; there's limited clearance on the back and you'll probably feel a moment of panic as you think 'am I going to get this back on?'. But it does work, and they stay on once you’ve done it right.Additionally, there are two apps you can download; an Aura headset app to purely control the lighting on your headset (which you can't see anyway) - and another 'controller' one to control all your ASUS stuff. I tried the controller one and couldn't for the life of me get the bluetooth to work. I could see the headset as a Bluetooth device, but kept getting error messages that 'the code was incorrect' – which was weird because there's no way to see a code (because there's no display). I also wasn't a 100% sure that I was activating the bluetooth right because there's no haptic feeback on the earphones. You can probably gather that I became quite irritated with these after a while. So my advice – don’t fiddle. If you think the price is right, buy these as jazzy coloured headphones, don’t change the ear cushions, don’t download the app, don’t try and use Bluetooth – it’ll spoil your experience. Just enjoy the solid build quality, jazzy looks and good sound.

I really like the look of my ROG Strix Fusion 500 headset and have to say that the build quality is typically good. I mostly find it very comfortable to wear and prefer the protein leather pads which are fitted in the factory although it does come with an alternative set which have a fabric finish and can be a little cooler. The lighting feature on the cans is pretty good although it’s really only for the benefit of other people around you unless you’re playing in a group; to be fair it is cool when everyone has a compatible set and they’re connected. The hideaway microphone is a great feature – it’s basically out of harm’s way when you’re not using it so it doesn’t get caught or damaged andfolds out to the front when you want it.An important point to note is that there only a USB connection for the Fusion 500 set which means it is suitable for PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4, but not for any mobile devices or the XBOX One. It comes with a detachable 2 metre braided cable (USB 2.0 to a micro USB connection on the headset itself) but you can replace it with a longer one if you want. It does have Bluetooth for use in controlling the Aura app with a mobile device, but it can’t be used for listening at all – only the cable can be used for that purpose which is a shame. I find that the listening sound quality is very good and better than many rivals, although the microphone sound quality is more average. On balance I think that the Fusion 500’s are a good set so long as you don’t mind the limitation of USB wired use only.

I have to admit, I do like the ASUS range of headsets, and this is no exception. Visually this is a nice looking headset, and the LED feature is a nice touch, especially with the ability to sync the colours to the rest of your ASUS products.Physically the headset fits very comfortably across the top of my head, and the oval shaped cups more than adequately fit over my ears, and do so snugly, blocking out a lot of external sound. The cushioning material on the cups is of excellent quality, and ASUS is right, my ears don't sweat with this headset on.The headset comes complete with a touchplate on the headset itself, giving you access to both volume controls,as well as the expected media functions if you're using the headset to listen to music. As for functionality. This is virtual 7.1, as opposed to true, but it does a good job with it - for instance I haven't had any problems picking up which direction sound is coming from in game when I've been using these. and the 50mm driver delivers crisp, clear sound, with really good bass, and decent treble. The microphone works well for all gaming purposes and on Discord as well.In terms of connection, this is USB, so plug and play, with no need to faff around with drivers, so that works out well.If you're looking for a good set of virtual 7.1 over the ear headphones that a do a really good job, and look great doing it, then this is definitely a headset you should be looking at.

firstly when you buy these headphones download the software from asus and perform the firmware update then restart your pc, out of the box this headset sounded awful, there is a strange eq applied by default that puts massive amounts of echo on everything, but after the firmware update they sound great and even compare to my seperate dac headphone combo costing 4 times more, games are crystal clear, with music they are suprisingly good, the spare pads sounded better to my ears and are more comfortable, the rgb is fine but not for me, the controls on the left earcup do have a slight delay but u get used to it, the mic sounds good but like the overall sound does need some tweaking with the free asus software, turn off any applied eq and surround sound, they comfortable after a few hours stretching on a head sized box, overall these are excellent but do need a little setup

There isn't anything special about this headset besides it's obvious RGB capable features. The audio that comes through the headphones is also nothing special although you can enable the 7.1 Surround sound there doesn't seem to be much of a difference unless it's music. In terms of Mic quality. It isn't bad; it isn't good. I would say that it is pretty 'average' although the price tag should more-a-less represent that. The cool feature of the microphone is that it is retractable and although that is pretty standard with most headsets around this price range it seamlessly slides into a slot that's inside the headset which gives the headset a nice sleek look when you're not using it.So do I recommend this?Yes. Although the price tag is a little high I think it's worth it and it does hold up pretty well.

They clamp firmly, with a good fit, and are comfortable for multi-hour use.Microphone quality is nothing special but also not egregious.Sound quality is decent, though can sound a little flat with stock EQ.Range was disappointing, and there appears to be a hardcoded beeping whenever one is out of range which is frustrating and does appear to be able to be disabled. A similar repetitive (And loud) beep occurs when the battery is low and will not subside until charging commences, which can be somewhat irritating. However, battery lasts long enough that if charged regularly, this is effectively a non-issue.

I'm absolute in love with this headset! From opening the packaged which they where sent in I knew I'd love them, the product box itself is very impresses love the feel. The headset comes with 2 types of ear cushions, a leather and fabric, I will only use the leather as they're so comfortable. The sound quality is amazing for games, movies and defiantly music. for the price I can't grumble, I own other ROG products and the prices are always high but the quality out ways the price for me. Also RGB who can't love RGB, the RGB works with Aura sync which will allow all ROG products to light up how you want them.

I was always a fan of ASUS who made soundcards and the like when most of you weren't even born (ahem). This is a brilliant set of isolating headphones which deliver exceptional 3D sound. Now, I have to say that I am not a gamer. I use these for podcasts and audio mixing. Nonetheless, you could hardly do better. I love the lights as well, which impress everyone around (even though I am not sure how to use them properly). All in all an exceptional product in very impressive packaging that will make your teenagers (if you are parents looking for a gift) scream with delight come Xmas time.

A rather expensive pair of headphones, they have the latest RGB technology which can be configured to flash to the beat, static or something in between. The sound quality is good, though for the price I would have expected Bluetooth connection, but no these are wired and USB connected. They are also quite heavy compared to the previous over the head noise cancelling Bluetooth headset this has replaced

I purchased these headphones through Amazon warehouse and they are like new if you want to save a little money look for offers in the amazon warehouse section of excellent quality products like new. The audio is fantastic in gaming and the microphone has a good audio quality, your friends will hear you very well without background noise and noise. Wrap it up to edit videos on my Youtube channel.

A good solid set of wireless gaming headphones. Well packaged and easy to set up. Sound quality is very good, and microphone is clear. Comes with an additional set of ear pads and the headband isn't too loose or too tight. Styling is low key and not over the top. Happy with my purchase and would highly recommend. Charging cable has plenty length. Not really any negatives

Needed a new set of headphones and these match the make of some other peripherals I already have.Sturdy, comfy and quality sound.Downside - touch pad controls for volume can be very temperamental / does not reach 12 meters wireless in the house.

25.5.2019

Great sound quality, light weight. Media controls on the side are a little sensitive when picking up headset but apart from that it’s a great headset for gaming, listening to music or voice communication as microphone has a clear pickup of voice.

iI just bought it last january 25,2018 and now it was broken from the left ear side. Amazon has not responded to my inquirers on how to send them back. it still has its warranty period. its a nice headset but just broke up

19.1.2019

Sound quality and isolation is great. Only wish the 7.1 was on by default, and the button to change 7.1 wasn’t in the place where I hold them to take them off (accidentally deactivating it quite often)
