If you ask me, the whole point of a driving game is to make it as realistic as possible. If it’s a racing game, why not go for max realism? Isn’t that the whole reason we want to drive cars on console? To get even just just a taste of what it would be like to drive these cars in reality? This game has fantastic driving physics praised by real life Blancpain racing drivers like David Perel. It has each track and car from that racing series. Wont bother with cars here, but if you’re interested, the tracks are: Brands Hatch, Monza, Silverstone (STILL not in GT Sport at time of writing this review), Paul Ricard (booo!), Milano, Zandvoort, Spa, Hungaroring, Barcelona, Zolder, Mt Panorama, Leguna Seca,Suzuka and Kayalami. So as you would expect, all of the tracks they drive on in this series in real life. The star of the show is the driving physics though.PS4 hardware is old now so compromises have had to be made. The biggest of which is the game running at 30fps*. This is a clear downgrade from the PC version but considering the complexity of the game’s visuals and it’s direct, close comparison to the PC version in every other respect, Kunos has frankly come close to achieving the impossible here.Simply put, if you like driving games (& have a steering wheel for your PS4 or XBox), this is THE best racing game available on console. Please use a wheel to play though as a pad will not do this game justice. If you don’t have a wheel, I’d skip this and head over to GT Sport which plays very well on pad.*A patch released a week or so after launch has fixed the fact that the game was locked to 30fps. Whilst not achieving full 60fps 100% of the time, my PS4 Pro runs the game MUCH better now. With many cars on track I’d say there is noticeable frame rate drops, but, while practising solo, I can’t tell the difference between the frame rate with ACC and GT Sport so as close to 60 as makes no noticeable difference.

Quite liked the console port of the original AC and as a big fan of the real life GT World Challenge (it will always be the Blancpain GT Series to me) and GT racing in general, gave this a shot. Had no real expectations.I play on a pad. I have been playing racing games on a pad since the original Gran Turismo back in 97. I can say with confidence that ACC is not unplayable on a pad, as some have said. It's not the best in this regard, but it's still a fun experience. Something like GT Sport is obviously going to be better on a pad as it's been designed as a PS4 game from day one.30 fps an issue? Not played on PC, so don't know what I'm missing. That said, 60 fps would of course be better, but I am not left constantly missing the higher frame rate.Yes, you have to set up your own controls before you can play, which I don't mind, but could really put off some. However, controls, frame rate and all those things aside, I am really having fun with ACC and that's all that matters really. Now we just need private lobbies.

Apparently Kunos are aware of the stuttering graphics issues and wheel issues and are working on a fix.I did a popular search engine search for the stuttering and found a great solution. Basically, you need to rebuild the database on your ps4 or ps4 pro. Here's how you do it:How to rebuild your databasePower off your PS4 and do not use rest mode.Hold the power button down until you hear two quick beeps. ...Connect your DualShock 4 controller to the USB-A slot in the front of the PS4.Scroll down in the menu until you reach option 5, Rebuild Database. ...Press the X button to start the rebuild.Mine took a few minutes to rebuild and is perfectly safe to do,you won't lose any of your data. The difference in performance after doing this was night and day for me. The other thing I did was to set my TV to GAME MODE. Runs sweet as a nut now.

This game was always going to be slightly underwhelming compared to the PC version but I have to say I'm more than impressed, the graphics are really good and the FPS is constantly at 30, which if you only have an Xbox One S or the original like me, is all that you've even known anyway. F1 games are all locked at 30fps on standard consoles and nobody minds, same with Forza, Dirt, GT sport.. I could go on.Also the game is surprisingly well optimised for the controller, far better and more accessible than the original Assetto Corsa. I use a wheel personally but it's not always possible, so I tried the pad and can definitely recommend this game under £30 to anyone without the money or space fora cockpit setup.

I bought this for the PS5 even though it’s the PS4 version (PS5 update is coming some time soon) I have to say the is the go to sim if you want a proper racing sim I mainly play online and it’s still very active with about 800+ players online the handling and the physics as the best you can get for a racing game but the gfx are poor and bad texture but the game is running on hardware that’s 9 years old (PS4) but it makes up for it with the handling and the gameplay of each car. And with 20 players online you get every clean racing as there is a rating system that can effect you from playing on certain servers so drive safe. Amazing game and can’t wait for the update for PS5 version.

(With a PS4 Pro & Steering Wheel) the best handling sim racer on console. The graphics are not the best, but the PS4 is now 8 years old? But I can happily just sit doing hot laps or race against the AI and even get some great races online. The game is pretty bare bones, no story, no energy drink advertisements, no over the top commentators. Just pure race weekend simulator, with fantastic audio. This game deserves a steering wheel controller, I wouldn’t even bother with a normal controller. Hoping this gets a PS5 graphical upgrade to bring up the resolution to current PC spec.

Let’s start with this, I love this game! Assetto Corsa Competizione is not for your average arcade style gamer, it’s built on sim physics and probably best played with a Wheel only. The graphics are not outstanding on base PS4, but this isn’t a game for people who like fancy graphics. It’s a game for racing fans who enjoy the challenge of finding 1/10th of a second on a sweet lap. It rewards concentration and practice and has an in depth driver rating system; great for online. Great for racing.

I very rarely write reviews, but felt I had to on this occasion.... let’s get something straight from the start.... this isn’t, nor does it ever proclaim to be, Forza/Gran Turismo/F12019..... This is a Sim, which by its nature needs time, patience and perseverance.... believe me, when you get it set up, it’s great, the cars sound amazing, the physics are great, yes the 30fps can be a little frustrating, but you soon ignore that..... review this for what it is, not what it’s not!!

This is the best simulation racing game on console, yes there are a few issues which they are working on to fix. One being wheels not working but if you disconnect and reconnect they work fine. The sound of the cars are amazing on all cars sound and feel different. The transition from day to night is incredible. Once there has been a patch this is definitely a 5 stars.

I've seen everyone moaning about 30 fps blah blah blah - from my experience, it is completely un noticeable. The cars are very fun to drive, even with minimal experience. The graphics are gorgeous - I bet they are even more lush in 4k with the next gen consoles. 10/10, would recommend for any GT3, GT4 and British GT fans out there.

Lots of crybabies in the reviews......get a decent machine not an underpowered Xbox One S. Same people that complain about Cyberpunk when they're trying to run it on the equivalent of a gameboy.I've got this on PC. Can't believe some of people on here who claim to have a Fanatec wheel but then have a console.....pointless.

25.6.2020

Epic in every way. This is for people who want to experience race cars but cannot afford their own. There is nothing that comes close to this on console. If you are a GT Sport racer who thinks they are good come across from your arcade racer to a proper sim and race with the big boys!Sound is epic and handling spot on.

27.6.2020

A extremley challenging game , it plays well on a gamepad once you set it up and the sound is fantastic. The only problem I have had is my wheel is not supported .I found that disappointing but I perservered with the game pad . So buy this but only if you are prepared for a difficult time . Easiest car is the Audi .

6.8.2020

This is probably the most realistic GT sim for the PS4 on the market, even though there’s not that many cars or tracks to choose from when compared to other racing games like GT sport or Project Cars 2 it’s superior as far as realism goes, the initial release was buggy but the developers are slower sorting this out.

The driving experience is phenomenal. Frame rate is due to ps4 limitations but I don't find it a major issue. I had no issues whatsoever with logitech g29 wheel. Very easy to customise button layout as well. Would recommend to anyone who wants to do sim racing but doesn't have a gaming pc set up
