This is an upgrade for me from the 2018 Macbook Air to the 2020 version. I ordered on April 19th when there was no stock. It arrived April 22nd via DPD. It appears they are restocking as and when needed.First impressions: definitely bigger and heavier than the 2018 version, but not in cumbersome way. The screen feels wider and reminds me of the 11" Macbook Air. It's brighter than the 2018 version (which was an issue for me personally) and the colours feel richer. I was worried about the new keyboard as I'm a writer, but the scissor keys feel natural, although definitely noisier! I'm not a tech person so I can't comment on performance, but so far I've not had any of the overheating issues mentioned in other reviews.Everything seems to zip along very quickly.Migration assistant transferred everything in about 30 minutes. Absolutely seamless.TIP #1: If (like me) you like a brighter screen and you've already maxed out the brightness settings, go into System Preferences->Accessibility->Display and adjust the display contrast slider.TIP #2: During the last stages of set-up it asks if you want to install Filevault. I would advise NOT doing this. The average consumer does not need this level of protection. I had the same password on my last Macbook the entire time and Filevault randomly locked me out one day. I spent two days working with Apple specialists to retrieve my lost data. They admitted this happened a lot and they had no way of getting around it. In the end, my hard drive had to be wiped clean to gain access to my own laptop. I was lucky that I had 99% of my data backed up in the cloud, but I lost some work files I'd kept in my downloads folders. Unless you're a gov't agent, you really don't need that kind of encryption protection.I normally buy direct from Apple, but the wait time was ridiculous (3+ weeks). I used Amazon's monthly payments which split the cost into 5 easy, interest-free payments. Much easier than applying for credit through Apple's partners. I would be open to buying my future Macbooks from Amazon.

By the off chance that the price of the Air was at a appetising price I thought why not.Instantly you notice the rapid response and load up of the SSD Drive, makes all the difference over the old hard drives. I’ve always been a MacBook Pro user of the top spec with top spec iMac from 2009, and my machines are still going strong, and still I personally think the machines were made better back then than today, but hay that’s Apple for you.You have to way up what you want the machine for and what are your requirements. I would suggest getting this MacBook Air model i5 over the i3 and the i7 yes great to have but not much difference. This middle range Air is a very good spec and reliable machine for its price.Personally I kind of wish I bought it from Apple directly to upgrade the ram to 16gb and had a bigger hard drive of SSD, but the price on amazon is what made me stay with them. £200 is worth saving. Great machine for introduction to Apple and every day use and bit of editing on pictures or video. Maybe start off with this Air and get use to its performance and learn how Apple products work and slowly exspand and understand what your requirements are for what your into, by knowing what ram or hard drives or processor you need? Of course the higher of spec of everything is always the best, but it’s down to the size of your wallet to have those nice and appealing extras :).

Service - From the time I ordered and received the product, it only took 3 days which was fantastic. I thought it would take a lot longer after seeing it was temporarily out of stock.Product- It's brilliant. Great new keyboard, speakers are fantastic, speedy new 10th Gen processor, the screen is also bright and colourful.Value- I think this was already a great value product even without the extra £50 discount that Amazon is offering over the apple stores. 5/5---MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro-I spent a while researching this Macbook Air and also the Macbook Pro(2020) and was torn between them. I've always had a Macbook pro in the past but I never used it for intensive tasks such as video editing so I didn't see the need for one this time and save some money. Also, the fact that Apple kept the same 2-year-old processors in the Pro made me take a look at the Air. I was unsure that the 400 nits would be bright enough but it's more than enough. The speed and performance is great, I've had 20+ tabs open and Spotify running and watching 4k video and it's handled it all fine.Overall- Very happy customer and can definitely recommend this laptop. :) 5/5.

This is my first MacBook product but I have tried previous models and I have to say I am very impressed, the keyboard is easy to type with and lights up which I feel is a good bonus as I would struggle to differentiate keys in the past in dull light. The screen resolution is sharp and nice to look at. It was easy to set up and get going, there are plenty of functional keys that make navigation seamless and the mouse pad is very responsive and the swipe and scroll functions are great, I also love that it has bluetooth. The Macbook is very thin and light and looks very nice. You also get 1 year free apple t.v with the MacBook.Only thing I would say is that there is very little in the way of surface friction/grip on the base despite having little nob legs which makes me slightly concerned that it could easily have a mishap if not placed in a secure place or even just sitting on my lap. The 720p camera is also pretty disappointing and it shows, which lets the high spec aspect of the MacBook down in my opinion but otherwise this is perfect for studies.

The MacBook Air (2020) addresses a number of complaints we’ve had about previous releases of Apple’s affordable thin and light laptop. Our biggest issue with previous models was how the hardware powering them was beginning to feel rather outdated and under powered, especially compared to many Windows-based laptops of around the same price tag.The good news is > that the MacBook Air 2020 feels like a much bigger step up from the MacBook Air 2019, with Apple finally adding new components that gives it a decent uptick in performance. It’s also upped the minimum storage capacity of the device (it now starts at 256GB, rather than the paltry 128GB of previous models),and for the first time offers configurations with quad-core processors and up to 16GB of RAM.One of the best new features of the MacBook Air (2020) is the new keyboard. It feels much nicer to use, and it seems to have fixed the reliability issues that plagued the older keyboards.

I’ve been eyeing up a new MacBook Air to replace my 2014 MacBook Pro, ever since the new range came out in 2018. The entry model for the Air cost £1199 at the time, which was quite steep for a general use laptop. With this new 2020 version, Apple has largely nailed it. The sub-£1000 price is perfect, the doubling of flash memory is welcome and the new 10th generation Intel processor brings this up to date. Two negatives, the processor in the cheaper model is possibly the slowest that intel still manufacture. If you want to use this for anything other than browsing, media and occasional editing get something else. The second weakness is the front webcam, but many of you won’t use that often anyway. The MacBook Air doesn’t sell itself as a smaller MacBook Pro and you’d be ill advised to buy it for intensive tasks. In summary, it’s small, light, and looks nice. The perfect companion for a casual user.

Husband was delighted with this as a new replacement for his 5 yr old MacBook Air laptop which developed a frozen screen during lockdown so we couldn’t get it repaired. All his data and photos transferred effortlessly from the cloud to the new 2020 MacBook Air laptop. The screen is better too, and the speed. Several improvements since his 2014 model. Screen size the same but overall laptop size is smaller, very efficient. Well done Apple and great that Amazon could supply this during lockdown when we could not get one anywhere else ??

It just doesn’t feel like a 1000 pound (£948) laptop. The display has a fair bit of wobble/bounce when you tap it. I wonder how many years it will last?I feel the build quality is someway below my old late 2103 MBP retina. And the screen, there’s not enough brightness in reserve. At this time of year the brightness is maxed out indoors and it’s supposed to be a mobile laptop. If you plan to keep for 5+ years I think the MBP is worth the extra money for the brighter screen alone.

Absolutely delighted with my new Mac and the great price offered by Amazon. So easy to set up, so light and super easy key board. I have had the old original VINTAGE white Mac for at least 8 YEARS so a real treat...Battery really seems to hols its charge and my legs don't get HOT HOT from base of lap top.My old lap top was on its last legs SO took advantage of the price drop. Would recommend for basicuse browsing, emails etc. Have ordered Office from Amazon for Word etc.

I honestly love this laptop and I am so glad that I spent the extra money on this rather than a Dell or HP. High quality product that is always snappy and just works with all my other tech. Perfect for me.The delivery was next day, way quicker than amazon said it was going to be and during lockdown made working from home so much easier. thank you.

A lot more expensive than I would normally spend on a computer, however following recommendations from friends and family who have had their MacBooks for years, I took the plunge. I have not been disappointed, I am really impressed with the design and operating system. You know where you are with Apple and it links to my phone and iPad.

I've used Windows laptops for years, but have always wanted a MacBook, and I couldn't be more delighted with my purchase. It is so fast, and I don't need to sit ages waiting for it to power up. The battery life is brilliant. The appearance is very sleek and light, but not flimsy. Just can't praise it enough.

3.6.2020

This MacBook is amazing, I've never owned one before so this one definitely exceeded my expectations. The battery life is really good, the screen is nice and its super light. I definitely recommend this laptop.

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter and she is over the moon with it. The laptop is very fast and was easy to set up. Overall, this product is great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone.

Lightweight and fast compared with my old MacBook Pro. Usual Apple excellent quality and ease of use much prefer the Apple OS to my husband’s Windows. Expensive but you get what you pay for. No regrets.
