First a warning there is no auto save although there is a prompt at the end of each chapter to save but this is not much help as the chapters are quite long and it is frustrating on the first play to come out of the game and then resume it later and find you have to start from the beginning. Also near the end of the game you need a Nunchuck for a short while and you cannot progress without it.This does not claim to be a game and those expecting it to be a conventional adventure game may be disappointed due to it being extremely linear however it is what it claims to be an interactive novel with a far better story than most conventional games. If you want to play a fast action game this is not for you but more reminiscent of the earlier and good PC adventure games. The game is a sequel to "Another Code Two Memories" which was a Nintendo DS game however Another Code R is a standalone game which does not require you to have played the previous game to enjoy this one although there are plenty of references to the previous game.I am not sure what age this game is intended for it does however state on the package that "Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game" which is certainly true as there is no voice acting and everything has to be read, generally the game leads you to the puzzles necessary to proceed which get harder as the game progresses. You play as Ashley a 16 year old girl who is summoned by her father to go on a camping trip; however things do not work out quite as simply as he father is constantly having to return to work leaving Ashley to her own devices. You have 2 gadgets to help you in your quest, one a DAS; you have to start with and looks remarkably like a Nintendo DS with this you can Save, Look at pictures and a number of other functions. The other gadget a TAS (which looks remarkably like a Nintendo Wiimote) you obtain fairly early in the game is used to open doors, a task that is not always as easy as it looks.Ashley's mother was killed when Ashley was 3 years old and when she reaches the camp area she starts to have flash backs to the time when she was 3 years old and tries to regain these memories to gain more knowledge about her mother. Ashley teams up with a 13 year old boy named Matt who has ran away from home and is desperately searching for his father who went missing 5 years ago. There are a number of twists and turns to the plot and tasks to accomplish but everything is explained nicely and does not leave you wondering what it was all about, a failure with a number of adventure games; however the summary at the end of the game tends to drag a bit. The graphics are cartoon type but well drawn with realistic expressions on the faces of the characters, I particularly liked the almost surreal effect when you have to run between sections when the trees and buildings blur and fold out of nowhere. It is a satisfactorily long game which took me slightly over 24 hours to complete and once completed it is possible to replay when there are slight changes to do this you have to wait until after the credits and save, the save then appears with a star against it and when you run from this save it starts again from the beginning. I will play it again but not for a while. My only criticism of the game is that there are occasions where it is very obvious what needs to be done but you cannot do it until some other task has been accomplished or object found that does not seem to be related to the main task.

It was the advert I saw that particularly made this appeal to me. I liked the idea of a mystery genre game, and I enjoy reading. I've never played a "detective" game before, so I thought this would be a good time to try. If I didn't enjoy it, I could always give it to one of my friends. But, I really did enjoy it! I did give this game 4 stars for the "fun" part, because I wouldn't describe such a game as "fun". Perhaps interesting would be a better word to describe this game. Although, when the characters are talking to each other, the animations are frequently repeated and sometimes they aren't even lip-synced to what they would be saying (they don't have voices, you just read what they are saying),it adds a little something to see the screen split in two and the characters talking to each other.I haven't played the prequel, as I do not have a DS, but this game was much better than I expected. I've noticed that most of the lower ratings are from people who feel that there is too much text in this game. I was completely expecting that, seeing as I paid attention to the front cover of the box that says "Read and solve like a mystery novel". If you do not like reading, or do not want to read for the majority of a game, then simply do not buy this.If you are looking for award winning graphics, do not buy this. Although the backgrounds are beautiful, the characters are very linear. If you are looking for a puzzle game with an interesting plot, buy this game.If you want a bit of charm with a relaxing atmosphere, buy this game.I really enjoyed this game. I do regret that I cannot buy the prequel, as it sounds superb, I would recommend buying this game if it sounds appealing to you.

This game is a brilliant game, suited to those who enjoy mysteries and solving things. When I first played this game, I did come across a few things I couldn't do, but if you just study your surroundings and read between the lines, it is a very good play. There are websites for cheats if you need them, but it's recommended you play "Another Code Two Memories" first as "Another Code: R" is the sequel. This game is about a girl named Ashly Mizuki Robins who embarks on the journey to find lost memories of her mother who was shot when Ashley was three years old. Her estranged father, Richard Robins invites her to a family camp, Lake Juliet,to show her the lake again which triggers memories of her mother.Ashley goes through this game discovering more things she didn't know, along with a good friend she makes and the camp, Matthew Crusoe. Together they dig deeper into their lost memories and discover what they wish to find. This game involves a lot of reading, so basic reading skills are required and whenever you get stuck, re-examin your surroundings and look deeper into clues that are found.Enjoy this game, it is a lot of fun :)

I have been playing another code r for almost an hour and so far I have really enjoyed it. I bought it because I enjoyed the first one, but I think the another code serise work better on DS. You play as a 16 year old girl called Ashley, who is staying at Lake Juilliet. If you have played the first game you will know how her mother died when she was a child and throughout the game she keeps getting flashbacks. You don't have to have played it but I think it is more enjoyable if you have. I think you need to have a lot of patience to like this game, as it is quite slow. There is a lot of reading, in some ways it is more like a book than a game- so I think you would have to be over 9 years old. There is lots of calm happy music in the background. The graphics are really good- it's drawn in an anime style and there are lots of short videos which I really like. You interact with objects and people- like when you recycle a pop can you drag a leaver. On the downside I would prefer it to be on Ds as on WII it is more accessable.****

I've JUST finished this game, it was fantastic - as mentioned, if you don't like reading then you probably won't enjoy the game.I was in suspense all of the time, it was similar to a book that i didnt want to put down, i kept getting wrong from my bf, because i told him that i'd finish reading the particular conversation that i was on - then save it and turn it off. But that didn't happen, i sneakily kept playing for a few more minutes. The puzzles aren't too hard, they require some thinking, i admit i had to have a sneaky peak a couple of times on a walkthrough when i got stumped, but once you realise what to do, you just shake your head at how simple it was.Overall i really enjoyed it,it was a shame it wasn't multiplayer.I tried this game after playing the DS version 'Trace Memory' and also after 'Hotel Dusk' - i look forward to playing more games like this one.

This was a superb game requiring some careful consideration to get to the final solution/result. I had already played the original version on DS (which is my favoured console) and thoughly enjoyed that too, but needed help. With the Wii version I did not need much help as I had learned a few techniques from the ds version. However I did feel that the Wii remote made the game less enjoyable for me, but this game has style and I look forward to a sequel if there is to be one.I would recommend this game for people who like to use their brain a bit.

Very good succesor of the first one. Wii has a unique gameplay, and its a good relaxing game after hours of long battles in Tales of Symphonia 2, or Star ocean. You just sit back or lie down and just "point and click"Watching an exciting plot unveil. Though it gets a bit boring when there are sequencitive dialogues it repays u by having the structure of a literature novel. Well anything else , u just have to play. And to think i never play adventure like games.

21.7.2009

Definitely not the worst game ever. Yes there is a lot of dialogue but it clearly says on the front 'read and solve like a mystery novel'. What else do you expect? In my opinion its a good story line and you get to solve puzzles just like regular point and click games. If you like the point and click genre then you will like it. Obviously being made by the same people as hotel dusk it has a few similarities so if you liked then this game is for you too.

I first saw this game advertised on tv, and it looked really good so I decided to get it. I thought it was really good how there was a lot of puzzles incoperated in the game, its probably the best wii game I have got, and i'm really pleased with it. It is quite tricky at parts, but if it was too easy it would be rubbish, basically I would recommend buying it ^.^ (From the point of a 14 year old girl =])

This was INCREDIBLE! I'm normally not into computer games, and find them a bit confusing, but I followed the controls really well, and could NOT stop playing! The story was really interesting, with twists and turns, I never guessed that - oh... won't give it away ;DTotally worth it - BUY THIS GAME!!!(btw written by J.C.'s teenage daughter - if this helps at all =])

10.8.2009

I like mystery/puzzle games and I think this is one of the best! It wasn't as interactive as I thought it was, most of the time you are reading conversations, but I think that the challenges and recalling on events and having to remember parts about the scenes make up for that! All in all, a great game to play on the Wii.

24.2.2010

I really enjoyed this game some great puzzles in it.The only thing that let it down was that there was a lot of unnecessary dialogue between the characters in the game, which could be quite boring at times. Other than that the game was very good.

Great game - loved the story book feel - and it IS a lot of story line, but the interaction I felt was just right and the puzzles not too intimidating. The background music is lovely too.

Quite a good sequal to the DS version "Another Code: Another Memory". Was relatively cheap but I finished it quite quick. Will last about 10-12 hours of continuous gameplay.

This was also bought as a present, so I do not have much to say, except my grandson was thrilled this Another Code, he love playing on the Wii
