I’ve bought the battery at the beginning of the year and so far so good. I like Anker as a whole because of their minimalist design, good quality materials and sleek products (I recommend other stuff from them aswell, from speakers to glass protectors). There are a couple of issues though, hence the 3*.No 1. The battery is 5200mah and my iPhone 6s has, I think, a 1715mah battery. I remember thinking that with this amount of mah, in theory, I can charge my phone at least 2x with it, if not, almost 3x. But that’s not the case unfortunately. So far I managed to charge it up 1.5x max.===========I’ve purchased Anker Powercore 5000 for my partner aswell and she manages to charge her S7 Samsung 1.5x (which has a 3000mah battery by the way).===========No 2.It doesn’t detect my phone when I plug in the cable. Original cable or the other, also from Anker. I always end up fiddle with the button because usually I carry it in the nice little sock provided. It’s becoming a nuisance to always try to find the button. Maybe it’s an issue with this unit in particular?! Or with my phone? But then again, my partner’s 5000mah battery, detects it immidiately so my phone shouldn’t be the issue.I thought about swapping with the powecore 5000 but I like the design of this one better.I’m waiting maybe a reply from them as I’ve seen they offer good and reliable customer service. In conclusion, very good product, will happily rate it 5* if I didn’t have those issues.============Later edit:You simply can’t argue with Anker’s customer service. Since my review, they’ve been in touch with me regarding the issues and they have been more than helpfull. They’ve offered me a replacement with the upgraded version of 6700mah of the same model, and now i can easily charge my iphone at least 2 times. Regarding the detection issue it seems like it’s not a problem with the battery itself because this one doesn’t detect my iphone either; the problem is with apple, just as I suspected. All batteries shut down after a couple of min. but they come back to life after you plug anything in them, with the exeption of iphone devices. To be honest that’s not Anker’s fault so in consequence I’m giving Anker 5 stars for the overall experience. I’ll definitely buy more product from them in the future.

If you're looking for peace of mind every time you leave the house, this power bank doesn't disappoint. It's the size of a credit card and only a hair heavier than my girlfriend's iPhone 6, making it extremely portable without being bulky and heavy.• The Anker Astro E1 is a powerful, yet very portable, external battery that you can easily take with you. It’s is a bit heavier than some of those small stick ones but still fits good in your pocket and doesn’t require a large bag or purse.• Definitely does not do two full charges for my girlfriend's iPhone 6. One and a half charges on a great day (1st charge: 100%, 2nd charge: 65%)But the battery charges up her phone pretty quickly. This battery pack is a glossy black finish with a curved rectangular shape. The corners are rounded and the surface quite shiny and smooth. There are 4 LED lights on the flat top of the power bank to give an indication of current charge. The button also sits flush with the unit which helps prevent it from being accidentally pressed.* One gripe is that there will be scratches that will inevitably accumulate on this battery pack.* It comes with a mesh carrying case and a micro-usb charging / data cable.* It has only one port, so you cannot charge two devices at the same time.Pros:+ Small and compact.+ Large charging capacity to size ratio.+ PowerIQ TechnologyWith the IQ chip that Anker has, it charges your phone at its max capabilities without destroying the device.+ Does not over charge. The power bank will not overcharge your device. It automatically stops when it reaches 100%.Cons:- Nothing i could think off.I highly recommend this item and urge you to consider your needs before you purchase something significantly bigger, bulkier, and expensive than this.So if you want a reliable power bank that charges your phone in no time and frees you from being attached to a wall outlet, GET THIS!

I originally purchased the £32 heavy duty Anker power bank having read reviews from people who had travelled with it. Unfortunately it is too powerful to be allowed in hand luggage & it turns out you’re not allowed to fly with it in your checked baggage & it was confiscated by China a few days after I brought it. Not wanting to make the same mistake again I purchased this smaller power bank & have travelled with it in my hand luggage without incident. It’s not designed for several phone charges on one charge however it will do around 2 zero to full charges on an iPhone 6s. I predominantly charge my phone whilst driving so only usually need little top ups from this power bank & it tends to last about a week before I need to recharge.I’ve used it to power my phone, tablet & speaker & the charge times are good. I wait for it to almost fully drain before charging so it understandably takes a while to fully charge but I plug it in overnight which works fine. I dropped one star for travelling because it will not charge a device whilst simultaneously charging itself. It’s a nicely designed & built powerful little item. It comes with one micro usb charging lead (you can use this to charge a device with a micro USB port or to charge the power bank itself) & a little net bag which is useful because I keep a spare iPhone lightening cable with it. Micro USB & lightening charging cables are compatible if they have a standard USB end. I owned another named brand power bank a few years ago that managed half a charge, this is a considerable improvement & I would recommend.

Absolutely amazing. This charges itself quickly using any standard Nokia/Blackberry/Samsung etc charger. It then charges my iPhone from 0-30% in minutes. I have taken to using it overnight at the same time as running my sleep apps - meaning I wake up to the phone at almost full charge, instead of drained.I also, and probably shouldn't, use this through the day, even when I am home, as a preferred alternative to using the official charger as it's SO much quicker. When out and about there's a bag that holds this and the lightning lead very comfortably and if you leave the home with it fully charged, you don't have to worry at all about losing power in your smart phone before coming home.On a day when I have not bothered to take my dSLR and am taking a lot of photos on my phone, as well as Facebooking and stuff, I can boost my phone twice with this and still have enough power in it to ensure I can pay my bus fare home without losing battery and getting fined. (yes I have a backup Oyster card, I'm not that trusting of tech! Am just saying I've not needed it yet!)I've also charged my compact camera with this as well as my ipod/windows phone that I still use for a few apps/kindle... all charge so much quicker with this than they ever do through the mains.I love it sooo much that today (24/11/15) I have seen it on the daily deals and have snapped another one up. I was tempted to get 2 or 3 but that's just silly. Instead, I now have one that I can keep at work for unexpected moments and one I can keep at home for when I go out and about.

I opted to buy this model after reading the reviews and for the fact of its compact design. It came with a USB cable for charging (and reversing it you could use it for powering a unit with micro USB input), a soft-webbing type bag pouch and a basic user manual (not that it's required).I required a portable power pack for my Canon Camcorder as the original internal battery only lasted a mere 40 minutes at very best. I had recently purchased a portable battery power pack that had the facility to insert 18650 batteries (x 2) and so had the option to replace them as and when necessary. But it did not last long due to the LCD display going wrong and so did not know when fully charged or when it wasrequiring recharging. So decided on this model to see how long it would last - but I have not yet got that far on any form of trial as yet... but in the next few months shall have fully placed it under considerable testing. It cam 50% charged and using a 1amp output charger it took about 4 hours to reach full charge. As with most electronic devices you can only throw at it what it can take.I have a desktop 5 bank USB charging unit that can output to a maximum 8amp output... but will not use it just yet as i want to trial the 1amp output first from a fully drained unit. Again the larger the output the quicker charging time, but possible at a lesser life-time useage of the unit.So stay tuned for now and hopefully will have an update accordingly.

Bought this a few months ago and I must admit I am both happy and disappointed. The power bank is a nicer alternative to the cylindrical type power banks as it seems to fit better in pockets and is just more user friendly as a result. The device is also extremely well made and looks like a much more expensive product, so it does fall into the 'good value for money' category. However, my main gripe is that it doesn't give me close to the two charges that I was hoping for, given that the battery I am charging is a 2600mAh from a Samsung S4. Over the last few months I have only managed to get around 1 full charge and then a 20% to 30% charge on the second charge. If I got closer to 70% to 80% on the second charge of my phone then I would have given a 4-5 stars.UPDATE: One of the things about great companies is that they listen to their customers. After writing my initial review I had an email from Anker who were kind enough to offer me a free 'upgraded' replacement for my powerbank. I have bought lots of products on Amazon and this level of service is exceptional. The new powerbank has arrived and works perfectly. As said in my original review, I really like the build quality of their products and now they have backed it up with such excellent customer service I would have no hesitation in recommending Anker powerbank products to anyone and have updated my 3-star review to a 5-star review.

Having been badly let down by a competitors power bank product I decided to try the Anker Astro E1. In fact I bought 2 on the basis that one could always be fully charged, and if used in turn they could possibly last me longer than buying a single unit with double the mAh output. If using a low current input to charge (standard 0.5 Amp USB) they take a few hours to reach their capacity. This isn't a problem if you organise yourself well enough to recharge overnight or in advance of needing the unit.Once fully charged the power bank appears to charge compatible batteries (iPhone, iPad, vaping units) in a timely fashion, and the remaining charge indicator allows you to roughly gauge whether you should have the second one at hand. The unit itself is portable enough to carry in a pocket (or handbag?) and the mesh carrying case is neat.I can only assume that some very negative reviews may be because some users don't understand the basics of recharging cycles/principles. Although there are bound to be some units that have faults, at least Anker appear to have a robust customer service policy. They did respond promptly to an enquiry I had prior to purchase. Obviously at this stage it remains to be seen if the units continue to work well and I will update this review accordingly. If it isn't updated then it can be assumed that I'm still happy with the product.

Bought this for my teenage daughter, who seemed to be permanently in a state of near-distress searching for power outlets to recharge her iphone whenever away from home. Initial impressions are of a very high quality item, nicely designed, with the thoughtful addition of a well made carrying pouch - it is something that she is very happy to "be seen" using, and some thought has obviously gone into making it look good. So, does it perform as well as it looks? Well, according to my delighted daughter, it most certainly does. It is, of course, incredibly easy to use - charge it up using your phone charger, waiting until the lights indicate a full charge, and stick it in your bag. Then, when needed, plug it into you phone and either allow it just to recharge the phone for use when fully recharged, or carry on using the phone, running off the power stored. My daughter tells me that she gets 4 full iphone recharges out of this device before needing to recharge it, and that it recharges her iphone as quick or even quicker than her phone charger. She carries it everywhere, and could not be without it. It has also come in handy to recharge someone else's phone when they needed to make an urgent call. In summary, a really good item for the price, does what it promises, and genuinely useful. I intend getting one for myself, which is always the best recommendation.

It's a simple device, only two ports (one to charge the battery pack, one to charge your device), one button and 4 LEDs to show the remaining charge, but that's all it needs. It comes with a bag to carry the battery and included micro USB cable in, which will save it from scratches in your bag/pocket and keep the cable handy. While it comes with a micro-USB cable, you can use any standard USB cable to charge a device, so no reason it shouldn't work with your iPhone or whatever.I've used it to charge my phone (Samsung A3 2016) on the go and it charged it up from very low (<20%) to over 70% reassuringly quickly (about 30 minutes). I've also used it to top up a Hudl 2,which is notorious for needing a good ampage to keep it charging, so it seems to have a good ampage on the output. I've managed about 3 charging sessions off it in a day on my phone, although that wasn't from 0->100 each time, you should be able to get 2 full charges on an average phone. It doesn't seem to get hot under regular usage either, which makes it comfortable to have in your pocket while charging your phone. It's not the biggest capacity battery pack, but it's relatively small for the power and the price is good for what you get. Heartily recommended and I've bought a second one for the other half to put in her handbag.

Its a saviour ! Compact, nice looking, attractive blue LED lights to display which show how much charge is left in it. It has 4 blue lights 25% of power for each of them. You can be relieved having Anker while travelling and even at home you can sit anywhere from your far away charging points and having mobile by your side to pick any urgent calls with your mobile connected to Anker ! Received on time.. Got cable for charging the power bank.. I received it fully charged with a bag for carrying it safely.. Little bit heavy but then it saves you in case of emergency when you are running out of your mobile battery..I have Samsung Grand and my husband is having iPhone 5S so first we discharged the iPhone to 1% and then kept to charging with Anker and after it got fully charged, 2 lights were left (which means still Anker had 50% charge left). Later I discharged my Samsung to 1% and then connected to Anker (Which had 2 lights). So in all it provides 2 full charges.. I Thought its better to buy single USB connection power bank as its much lighter than the two USB connection power bank.. But yeah double USB would have provide more charges than this one also accompanied with double weight.. Happy with the purchase.. Buying one more so one will be with my husband and the other one with me.. :)

I never thought highly of extra battery packs as I didn't expect them to work very well. When I got this one as a present I changed my mind! The battery is small and easily fits into my pocket next to my smartphone; it comes with a neat little textile sack and USB charger of its own, which means I never forget the charging cable (for iPhones you obviously would have to use one of your own cables) and it provides my (I admit rather old) smartphone with 4(!) full charges. Now what is the advantage of having a powerbank? I didn't really miss a powerbank before I had one. I just turned off as many phone services as I possibly could get away with and my phone would last till the next morning. But in the end I want to use my smartphone even on a night out without having to worry about running out of battery. Same goes for long journeys or travelling abroad and relying on GPS and Wifi to be turned on all day...With a powerbank I don't have to worry about that anymore :-)I can't compare this product against other power banks as I haven't tried any other, but I can say that I am absolutely happy with this one! Only thing that I am still keen on finding out is how many recharge cycles this battery will last.

Anker customer service contacted me and offered to replace my defective Power Bank with a new one for free (even after the expired warranty period). They sent me the new Anker E1 6700 in a colour of my choice and in just a few days, It's charging right now.Have been buying Anker for ages and the quality of their products is very high. This was my first issue with one of their products and, after the experience with their customer service, I'll probably keep buying until they will be on the market :)Thank you very much.Original Review:I've been buying Anker for ages now, lots of cables and 4-5 different battery packs, with this one I was very unlucky. My first 10000mAh battery pack is ~5 years old and still running almost perfectly. This E1 instead, didn't really last that long (and I didn't even use that much). In the past couple of months I noticed that it is pushing up only 30-40% the battery of my Samsung before dying...Initially I thought the problem was my phone(a 3 years old note 5), but today I tested it with my wife's Anker E1 (that is 3y+ old) and it has full charged the phone from 15% dropping just one led! Conclusion: It's my E1 broken and not the phone :/

This little power bank meets my quality expectations of all other Anker products - absolutely brilliant! I love Anker and it's not just because of the quality, it's because of the full brand experience. Right from opening my Amazon package to find that beautiful blue box all the way to unwrapping the well packaged product and getting my hands on it is an experience.I got this because my other 21,000mAh Anker power bank is perfection but a little big for sticking in my pocket. It's a slick little unit and fits in my pocket alongside my phone easily with plenty of room to spare. The finish is plastic but the quality and sturdiness feels great. The charger is MicroUSB and it has one iQ output port which rapidly charges my Google Pixel with ease.I get about 1 - 1.5 charges from this which is more than acceptable for something of this size. And besides, meets my needs perfectly for when I'm out and about for the day. It only takes a few hours to charge back up to full - maybe 4-5 hours? All in all a brilliant product and I've attached a pic of it charging my Anker bluetooth headphones - which was another brilliant purchase by the way!

Bought this specifically to power up my GoPro Hero7 Black when used a long time (for instance, timelapse recording or when cycling).I chose a Anker product, as I have had their products before: they are well made, and support is very good in case of issues. The battery pack is quite small, looks well made (shiny plastic) and robust (although likely to scratch easily). There are a few LEDs on the top to indicate remaining battery level or charging level, and a button on the side to display those LEDs.Battery is provided in a nice box, which also contains a nice mesh carry pouch and a small micro-USB cable (to charge the battery, or charge micro-USB devices from the battery pack). The carry pouch has enough space to store the cable. It's capable of outputting 2A (most cheap/small battery power packs are limited to 1A), so there is no issue powering the GoPro or charging its battery even when screen is in used. With a 5200mAh capacity, it should be capable to charge the GoPro battery 3 or 4 times, or provide many hours of recordings.Only minor drawback is that it takes a long time to charge the battery pack (several hours).

Great little portable charger! I've been using it with my samsung galaxy s6, which has enough battery life to last me a full day when I'm using it on and off, but I thought I would buy this in case I was out and about for a long period of time and my phone had gone under heavy use. Samsung's chargers have their fast charging technology which is absolutely excellent as far as I'm concerned and really makes a noticeable difference to traditional phones and chargers. This portable charger with QI technology is also superb and charges faster than through USB on your computer and most standard micro USB chargers that is not a fast charger. That is amazing when you consider its compact and portable size. There are a bunch of portable chargers out there but 90 percent of them usually do not provide the mah that it promises and certainly does not charge as fast as this. I've been using Anker's products for a while now as both my gaming mouse and my inbuilt usb card reader are from Anker. All work much much better than the price suggests. Premium product for a fraction of the price. Highly Recommended!
