I have been using Ameliorate products for quite some time now for my KP on my upper arms and the tops of my thighs and my skin is better than it has been for years. This body lotion (and the similar transforming body cream) are good for people with more general dry skin/ingrown hairs/uneven skin texture, so I have been using this in areas I haven't previously used their Skin Smoothing Body Lotion, which I have always focussed just on my trouble areas. This lotion smells clean and slightly like baby products, but I don't mind that - you could apply it over large areas quite easily, but given the price, you might choose to focus on your driest skin areas rather than use all over.I have been using the lotion on my feet which is one of the driest areas of my skin that don't have KP - and I have also tried it on a small spot on my shin, where I have a deeply ingrown hair, which isn't irritated, but is just a small bump it has been there so long. The moisturising effect is great - it doesn't sink in as quickly as some other creams, but the effect is really noticeable after a number of weeks - my feet are definitely softer and smoother and some of the thicker areas of skin are softening and possibly even thinning out. The ingrown hair may need more time - the area is soft, but the hair hasn't come to the surface yet - it may be too deep for this cream to reach, but it was worth a try.I have been using the cream on my knees and elbows and that is also really effective - the cream maybe takes a bit more work to massage into my skin, but I like thickness of it sitting in the creases as I work it in and the effects are great. Much smoother and much suppler skin. I think if I want to cover larger areas, I would choose the lotion and more intense, but smaller areas, I would choose the cream.

This is probably the most effective body lotion I've ever tried for keratosis pilaris. I have quite severe keratosis on my upper arms, thighs and bum and I also have razor bumps on my shins which I'm really self-conscious about. With twice daily use for three or four weeks, this product definitely did make a huge difference to my upper arms, where the bumpiness has almost completely disappeared, and to my thighs and bum, where it hasn't disappeared but has improved a lot. I can't say it's done much for the marks on my shins but it certainly has softened the skin. However, there are drawbacks. First of all, this lotion smells absolutely revolting - a really strong, sour, ammonia type smell. It's properly unpleasant. So frankly it was a good job I only started using this in lockdown, because I don't think I could have put it on in the morning before going to the office. I've tried the rose version as well as the unscented one, and the rose one smells equally repellent. The other drawback is that it's not a lotion that sinks quickly into the skin. It does leave a stickiness behind, which means it's not particularly comfortable when you then get dressed or get into bed. It's also quite expensive, which to be fair, wouldn't be anywhere near as much of an issue if, like a lot of people, only had to use it on my upper arms. But a 200ml tube doesn't go that far if you need to treat most of your body, as I do. I got through two tubes of this stuff in about five weeks, so although it definitely does work really well, that comes at a price!I would use this again, because my KP is bad enough to make it worthwhile, but if your skin issues are milder, you could probably get good results with a much cheaper resurfacing type lotion.

I have a very dry patch of skin on one of my legs as a result of a fall, which doesn't respond well to moisturising, or at least not for long. I applied a small amount of this cream to the area and felt a mildly strange sensation, nothing uncomfortable but a light tingling and warmth, which continued for several minutes. No sign of any adverse reaction so I assume the sensation was part of the process. It took a while for the cream to be fully absorbed, during which time the skin felt slightly tacky so I forgot about it and got on with my day. Several hours later my skin felt silky and smooth, much better than it has since my fall and more like it did beforehand. No sign of dry skin visually or to the touch, the difference was quite remarkable. The moisturising effect is very long lasting but the downside is the smell associated with the fragrance-free cream. It isn't nice. Having said that, it makes my skin feel so much better that it is worth putting up with it but it is a pity that something that seems to do such a good job of smoothing and moisturising skin has to smell quite this way.Note that the cream can make skin more sensitive to exposure to the sun so additional protection will be needed. The initial treatment programme is twice daily for four weeks. I am hopeful this will make a long term difference to what has been an annoying problem area and I will share the results.

My wife tried this and loved it.“I have been using this for several days on my feet and hands. The dry skin on my feet has all but vanished, and my hands feel smooth and hydrated too. The cream feels thick and unctuous but not too thick to use, and it soaks right in to the dry skin leaving it feeling flexible and nourished.I have had dry skin on my feet for many years and I am always looking for a product that can help them become softer and my skin less flaky and tight; I think I may have finally found what I have been looking for.It comes in a tall 200 ml tube in a box and the tube has a flip lid. You have to remove the little sticky pad at the top of the tube in order to squeeze any out, after that you just need to replace the cap and use like any tube of hand/foot cream. I have a little problem snapping it shut now and again, but eventually it clicks down and I store it in its box away from any heat.I like to use it during the day when I have time to walk around bare footed, as I feel that putting socks or tights on over it would prevent all the cream from soaking in. For the same reason, I don't apply it at night when I am about to go to bed.It smells OK - nothing special, just a mild, slightly old fashioned aroma, but I am fine with that.It is rather on the expensive side, but as it works beautifully for me I am looking to buy more when this tube is finished.”

Intended particularly for people who suffer from Kerotosis Pilaris or 'chicken skin', this is also aimed at a wider target audience who have issues with very dry skin or ingrowing hairs. The formulation is based around a foundation of lactic acid and also features a number of oils including almond, orange and geranium. My issue is very dry skin and I found this rich thick milk to be easily absorbed and to offer pretty good hydration which does last for a decent length of time unlike some rivals. There is a corresponding improvement in the smoothness of the skin although I have to say the promised exfoliation properties passed me by-there are no grains or similar to provide any friction to aidskin removal and I would have thought this product is much more appealing to those looking for a moisturizing liquid rather than one to effectively remove dead cells. The idea is to used the product twice a day and certain it is that to get the best results you need to be employing a regular regimen of applications. The tube is easy to use and at 200 ml not a bad size. Coverage is good so a small amount of product is enough to cover any given area of the body, so although not cheap this equates to decent value. All in all worth trying for its hydrating properties.

Although it says the cream is fragrance free one or more of the ingredients obviously has a natural fragrance, one which I don't like at all. It is hard to describe the smell - sort or milky and earthy, and reminded me of the stuff that terry cloth babies nappies were cleaned with in days of old. Thankfully, though, the fragrance doesn't linger too long after application. My skin is very dry as a result of medication. I didn't notice much difference for the first couple of days use, but then felt that my skin was noticeably more hydrated, smoother and softer to the touch. With continued use the improvement in skin texture and hydration is very impressive. The instructiions state that it should be used twice a day for four weeks - I have only used it once a day and that has produced good results. My only concern is the cost - as my skin is dry as a reaction to medication, I would have to use it on an ongoing basis and at £20+ for an, admittedly, large tube it gets to be very expensive, particularly in comparison to Johnson's scented baby oil which is what I normally use and which works well albeit I use o a lot of it. I suspect I will buy the Ameliorate cream every now and then to improve my skin quickly.

AFTER 2 DAYS USE- I read reviews and with Rosacea types 1&2 thought this would be great for my arms, neck, and shoulders. I saw some reviews about the smell and based upon the manufacturer's response it was like a baby scent, I spent a lot of money on something I regret. I feel disgusting. It is bad enough when you feel down because your skin is bad, but the smell as well brought me down very low. If your Rosacea is that bad, you will probably buy it anyway. I just wanted to give people a heads up.AFTER 2 WEEKS USE- Time to give an update. My review has changed from 2 to 5 stars. So, my skin is not blotchy red, it's clear. It used to be red and bumpy, but it is white and soft.I persevered and you get used to the scent. Compared to having skin that looked and felt bad, it was nothing. I have now bought the Ameliorate Body Exfoliant, The mitt to help exfoliate, and the Ameliorate Bath Milk. This stuff works. My skin is so soft. It looks so different. I am really pleased with the results and imagine I will be buying these products for as long as I can afford to.If you don't see results at first. Keep going. It really changed my oppinion.

For years I've had Keratosis Pilaris (otherwise delightfully known as chicken skin) on my arms and upper legs, without even realising it was a thing. I think I just assumed it was because I was overweight. Since I realise it was a condition I've been looking for products that might help treat it. I'd tried natural treatments like coconut oil, moisturisers with glycolic acid, and nothing really helped. This is the first moisturiser that actually seems to do what it promised! After just under two weeks of use, there was a definite difference - less redness, bumpiness, less blotchy skin. I also have very dry, scaly skin on my legs due to varicose veins, and it helped there too.The only downside is,whilst it seemed to absorb quickly, it left a slightly unpleasant residue on my skin, my legs felt like there was something coating them - if that makes sense? Hard to explain, but I could feel that I had this on in a way I couldn't with regular moisturisers. Hence knocking a star off - that and the price, a tube of this barely lasted me two weeks, and it's not cheap.

I've not heard of this make before, but thought I'd give it a try. Since having operations I've had terrible dry skins which has cause eczema and it flares up quite often. I have had cream from Doctor which is very very greasy and never sinks in, consequently still have dry skin and nothing seems to get rid of it. I have tried many products with same results. So though lets give this a go and I'm so glad I did, the directions say to use 4 times a day for few weeks then leave off. I used this 4 times yesterday and twice today, and I have to say I am so impressed, this is the first time that in the morning my skin has felt smooth even on my heels, I have even showered and it's still smooth.Never had the skins on foot and legs so smooth, even used on my arms today and same effect. This is one product I won't stop using in a hurry. Never had results even from medical cream like this. Anyone with dry skin or eczema give this ago, I've had no reaction and thoroughly recommend anyone to try.

This was reviewed by my partner, who it was for.I have very dry skin, and my skin did feel noticeably smoother and softer after a few weeks of use. I don't suffer from bumpy skin or ingrowing hairs so can't comment on that, but it seems to be very effective with dry skin.Unlike some dry skin products, this is comfortable to wear; it is neither thick nor greasy, and easy to apply. The only downside for this otherwise perfect product is the scent which is closer to something you would expect from a medical cream than a beauty product. It is a subtle smell though so not a major point against.Price might be another factor because many dry-skin products are either uncomfortable or simply don't work. This cream suffers from neither issue so is a good buy overall as you will not be wasting cash on snake oil.Oh, and a tip if you are considering the same product in a jar; I would say that the lotion (the tube) is easier to apply than the cream (jar).

This is lighter than expected, a nicely presented quality body lotion. It takes quite a bit of rubbing in and isn't instantly absorbed. However it doesn't feel exfoliating, which is what I had expected from the description. The exfoliating effects are chemical, not physicalI applied it to 'winter skin' on covered-up arms and legs, twice daily, as recommended, and although the results were not 'wow', they were what I would expect from a premium moisturising lotion for dry skin. It's worth noting that this does contain contra-indications for sunbathing after use. Therefore it's worth using at this time of the year, to prepare skin that has spent a very long winter under cover for summer sun (hopefully),It's pleasant enough to use, with no chemical smell.Although in a tube, it is definitely a lotion more than a cream and really quite runny, Don't squeeze the tube hard, you will find yourself with far more than you need in your hand.

I was going to use this on the keratosis pilaris on my upper arms, but unfortunately this cream has a ‘baby lotion’ scent, which although not unpleasant, is quite strong. I’m sensitive to fragrances so did not want to slather it all over my arms. However since it is also for very dry skin I used it on my heels, with great results. First I exfoliated with a whizzy roller thing and then applied the cream. It absorbs very well, being of a slightly gel like consistency but with the appearance of a cream. A little goes a long way.My feet felt very smooth and soft after just a few days of use. Heels still a little cracked but I think that will improve. Apparently this cream not only moisturises but exfoliates too, which is ideal for the dead skin on your heels. So although I did not use this for its intended purpose (keratosis pilaris) because of the smell, im still pleased with this product as an intensive foot moisturiser.

This is more of a remedial than a luxury body lotion. I have read that it has been developed to help the skin condition Keratosis Pilaris, also known as 'chicken skin'. As you might expect from the name, this is red bumpy skin. I don't have this condition so I m unable to review on this basis, but I do have rough dry skin on my legs that is both itchy and uncomfortable. After using this for 3 days, only once a day rather than the twice advised, my skin was noticeably smoother and softer. On applying you do get a slight 'burning' sensation, and I assume this is why it is also good for ingrown hairs, which I also suffer from, or did before using this lotion. It doesn't go very far,you need quite a lot to cover a leg, and so it does work out quite an expensive option if you use as advised. I have found that a couple of times a week is enough for my skin and to keep ingrown hairs away. Will definitely continue to use.

I never leave reviews for anything as I usually buy in store & not online. However I have to leave a review for this product... I have suffered with kp all over my legs literally from top to bottom & the backs of my arms since I was about 4. I have always been so so embarrassed to ware shorts or t-shirts without making sure I had fake tan to try & hide the red bumps which doesn't work it just turns redness into brown!! .. I tried literally everything on the market & nothing worked like this!! I'm blown away....its 70% better already... I'm less than 2 weeks in & I also use cerave sa cream once a day & use my baiden mitten once a week...Its tough to keep the routine up of putting cream on 3 times a day but it's only 3 times until things significantly improve... Personally I'd do anything to help this... I'm finally looking forward to the summer!!... Can't rate this product enough... Here's the answer! Promise x

AMELIORATE Transforming Body Lotion 200ml is lovely to use, rich and enriching body lotion which for me takes my skin from dry and flaky to soft, smooth and totally conditioned. The actual lotion has a mild but very nice fragrance which I do like plus the fact the fragrance does last. The actual lotion is very rich therefore a little goes a long way, which for me is a bonus as though it is a bit more expensive than other popular body lotions but with a little going a long way it will last when others have run out.The fragrance did not bother me but I applied it lightly and slowly built up the lotion until I achieved the conditioned feel I wanted and this was one lotion which not only left myarms and legs feeling soft and smooth but also the dry patches on my knees and elbows felt and looked so much better.AMELIORATE Transforming Body Lotion is lovely to use skin product and one I am happy to recommend.
