feels good, gets a good grip on the trail. looks good, too, for a running shoe built for running, not styling around. My toes don't hurt. I followed the fitting instructions and measured my foot in centimeters. The size did not match my three pairs of New Balance, but the shoe fit fine and caused no problems. The Altra Superior seems tight in the heel, but no tighter than the New Balance shoes at mid-foot. If Altra made a casual office shoe I would buy a pair. Maybe I might get another pair that looks less like a trail shoe for office work. I like the feel of my toes spreading out like when barefoot.

First pair of Altras. I'm using these for hiking and backpacking. I really like the zero drop and the roomy toe box. I left the rock guard in. I have some hip issues and the zero drop seems to help, so that's a plus. Overall, a great fit for me. I normally wear a 9.5 and a 9.5 in these fit perfect. I only have about 100 miles on them and have had no issues with the uppers so far, but the lining in the heel is wearing through already. Not a huge problem to me, since it doesn't make it uncomfortable. I haven't noticed my heel slipping, so must just be the material.

I probably got a half size too big anticipating odd Altra sizing differences. It works but I probably could have got true to size with this model. I've also used the lone peaks and I prefer these. The only big issue is that they wear out fast. They are only about 6 months old and all the traction has worn off and there are some rips. Months is probably a poor measure though. They probably have somewhere between 350-450 miles on them mostly rough terrain but very little bushwhacking

I like that Altras have more cushioning than Merrill footgloves, which used to be my favorite shoes. I’ve got bunions and wide feet and true barefoot at my age doesn’t work anymore. Altras have been lifesavers! I like the superiors over other Altras. I wore these out of box on 4 hr hike that included off trail and a lot of granite. They stuck like glue and my feet never complained that they were brand new shoes.

For me the large toe box is revolutionary. Altra Superior 4.0 is my second Altra in 2 months; first order was Altra 3.5. I wear them the whole day for comfort. This shoe is very light and comfortable. Before I was wearing Asics Kayano 24. The toe box a huge problem. I have a 9 mm Short length leg discrepancy. So I war a 9 mm lift on the left plus a full length orthatic (take out the manufacturer insole).

Bought for distance walking rather than running, really pleased .Done about 100 miles now and no more sore feet ,I think the level sole works.Have had them through a river and they were comfy when wet using decent socks ,dry fast afterwards.I measured my feet and used the altra size guide so got a perfect fit in a 9.5 which is my true size.Recommended shoes and will be sticking with the brand.

I've purchased two pairs of the 3.5s and am extremely happy with the purchase. The zero drop has eliminated pain in my legs (Tibialis Anterior.) The large toe box has eliminated toe on toe blisters and pain in my (tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal. ) The only thing that I would change with the shoe is to make the cushion on the heel last longer. I'm replacing shoes after about 400 miles.

This is my first Altra shoe. I like the design very much. It's like walking on a cloud when I walk. The only downside is that it is inconvenient to wear it off when I tie it.There is no mark on the right shoe. There is no defect in the product itself, but the inspection does not seem right.Unfortunately, I bought this from Korea and this time I will just wear it.

Great grip for trails, superior concept and executed design. They feel similar to a more minimal shoe. I wore the lone peaks which have more cushion but didn’t feel suitable for sprinting. I would suggest these shoes for 3-5 mile runs with the possibility of adding sprints and wanting a “thinner” shoe that isn’t a minimal-style shoe. Enjoy!

These are very odd looking shoes, but they are extremely comfortable, lightweight, sturdy, cool breathing, and have sticky tread.Don't let rain hold you back, these won't slip much.Don't worry about rocks, these have a protective plate.Best part is that your toes aren't crowded when descending.

I returned these shoes because they were too narrow for me.If you occasionally wear 4E width shoes in other brands, these will not be wide enough for you.The shoe construction and support seemed fine, and the return process was easy as usual with Amazon.

Fit is perfect! Quality of outer sole and upper seem to be great and I expect them to perform well in tough and technical terrain. Just picked them up and have nit had time to go for a test run yet. Looks promising to say the least!

Great trainer. Best running shoe I've ever had. Wore then for a 30mile ultra and had no blisters or hot spots whatsoever. I have a few different pairs of Altra now and always need to go 1/2 a size bigger than other brands

I am happy with the comfort of these shoes. I am not a trail runner but I use these at the gym. These have well ventilated uppers and you can feel the top of your feet cooling. NY late fall cold weather

Altra seems to know how to make a shoe feel like an extension of my foot instead of something clunky that attaches to my foot. In addition I find the Superiors to last 300+ miles.
