8 months ago, we adopted a wonderful 11 year old cat. Our problems started early on, when we realised he was having "accidents".We went to work immediately with vet visits & resolved a urine infection. However, we still had a problem...... We resorted to using puppy pads, changed to "open" litter boxes, increased the number of litter boxes, but with only limited success. We realised that there was more than likely a psychological issue at work, so trawled the internet.Having considered buying sand (as used in play pits), we continued searching. A post written by a cat specialist, mentioned Almo Cat Litter, which she apparently recommends to all cat guardians who are facing toileting issues.Having located a source ie Amazon, with immediate delivery, we changed 2 trays initially (following the guidelines given).Finally, we had success! With 4 cat trays now active with Almo cat litter, we have only had 2 "accidents since changing.The litter is AMAZING!1. NO odour (we scoop to clean as soon as we notice the tray/s have been used)2. Following guidelines, we wait a few minutes after a cat has used the tray - then scoop. No urine marks remain on the base of the tray & it does not stick (It is important to follow the guidelines)3. Following the guidelines, we "top up", but the newest cat prefers that to be completed twice a week, rather than the once which is mentioned!! We like to keep him happy :-)4. There is no need to throw remaining cat litter away as it remains fresh/odour-free5. Although the litter may initially seem expensive, if used as recommended, it really is turning out to be very economical6. Storage space requires for spare litter, is a fraction of that which we needed for our previous litter7. Small bags, but maximum results - we are all VERY impressed - 2 felines included!!!We found it is worth visiting Almo Cat Litter's website - it has a lot of useful information, should you feel unsure about buying.Would we recommend this litter - most definely YES!! Little waste, green credentials & loved by both cats - we could not ask for more.

I am now adding April 2020 that since writing the review below, the texture of the litter has changed to a finer grain and when removing clumps I get puffs of dust rising up. So I am going to look on line for a less fine texture but still a vegetable husk product as it really is preferable to the grey clay type of litter. If the Almo nature hadn't been changed to this finer texture I would remain delighted. ShameSo I have 4 cats and 4 trays in total dotted about. I used a clay clumping brand which after 2 weeks despite removing lumps am and pm it would become smelly. I continued with it and just made sure I changed the litter entirely after 3-4wks. Now this stuff stays clean and smell free.I remove the lumps and it is lightweight and easy to remove and lift. Not heavy and stubborn like the clay clumping previously used. The instructions say you have to remove the litter,set aside and clean the tray and then put back and top up. I thought that eventually the litter would smell contaminated and would have to be thrown and only new put into the tray. Not so. I am able to do as the instructions say and its clean smelling. I will never go back to the clay stuff again. In terms of disposal I do put poops and pee lumps down the loo and all flushes away. Regarding tracking as I have read other reviews, I have got around this by buying a rubber mat on Amazon especially to reduce the tracking so that when they step out the mat collects the litter on their paws.. would give 10 out of 10 for this product and highly recommend.

I love that this litter as it’s biodegradable and compostable. For me, this aspect makes it miles above any brand sold in the supermarket!I scoop the boxes everyday, including the urine (as it’s so easy because it’s clumps amazingly!) and haven’t had any problems with the liquid going very solid and not being able to scoop it out. Maybe it isn’t good for people who don’t want to scoop out the urine as maybe it goes harder over time?The litter is super soft and easy for my kitties to cover their ‘business’. Yes it does go outside the litter boxes but I’ve never used a litter that doesn’t!I fill my boxes higher; fill them around 4cm. The bags recommends only 2cm.(Maybe this is another reason I don’t have the issues of urine sticking to the bottom?)Yes it’s a small quantity in one bag, but for me, it works out the same price as my previous litter because I use less. I have two cats, and with my previous litter, I wasn’t able to get all the urine out, so had to change the whole box after a week because it would start to smell. With this litter, it’s basically on-going as I can save so much clean litter. I’m always able to fully get every bit of ‘business’ out, which means there’s lots of clean litter left in the tray and means that much less frequent cleaning of the whole box is needed, which in turn means I save money by getting rid of less.The reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because the litter could be improved by being less dusty.That being said, I will keep buying it.Happy scooping!

No odour! Super convenient! A small amount goes a really long way. We have said goodbye to cleaning the litter tray every 2-3 days. We got a small, indoor cat a couple of years ago and tried a whole range of products; finally we had settled on a paper pellet product which we thought was really good and also environmentally friendly. But there was a bit of effort required and sometimes a mild urine smell (we always cleaned away no 2's immediately). I was worried about becoming inured to the urine smell and other people noticing it! But it was a good product. If heavy, as we bought 30 kg bags for convenience. Then we were going on a long holiday and I really didn't want to cart a 30kg bag of cat litter.Which is when I did a bit more research and discovered this truly amazing product - also environmentally friendly! It is not like other clumping products at all. We only have to clean the tray properly once a month - the rest of the time we just use the scoop to remove the clumpled materials. There is NO SMELL! It took our little cat a few days to get used to it but now he is completely fine. A 4.5 kg bag lasts about the same time, if not longer, than a 30 kg of paper pellets. My only 'regret' is that we had our cat for 2 years before discovering this product.

Love the no smell - really! This litter does not smell.Love the clumping action. So easy to pick out.Love the fact that the clumps can be flushed down the toilet.Love the fact that it is plant - based.Like the fact that you can re-use the litter that is left after removing the solids.Cat loves it.Don't like the fact that it DOES track. I had fine sand all over my bathroom floor until I bought a specialist litter mat (on Amazon) that is two layers and has hexagonal holes on the top layer to catch the sand. Brilliant. And you just pour the sand out after a while. There is still a little sand spread on the bathroom floor, but I can live with it compared to other litter spread.Don't like the fact that it IS expensive,but it is so worth it for all the likes above.Don't like the fact that on here (Amazon) you can only buy 2.27 kg bags, so you are also paying postage on top of the high price every two months or so. (The 2.27 kg bag lasts me about two months with one indoor cat, because you do not have to throw away the whole lot, when you change it. You can re-use the litter after removing the solids).All in all, this is the best litter I have ever used for my cat. I will not use any other from now on.

So pleasant to use and eco-friendly too!My cats loved Almo Nature CatLitter - so soft (like sand) under their paws and so easy to dig and hide their deposits!I was amazed at how light, compact and long-lasting the bags are. The recommended 2cm base was plenty deep enough for my cats to do their business - in fact I used less than that! The litter clumped the instant it was soiled, so it was very efficient and easy to pick up and dispose of the soiled clumps, which can be flushed, composted or thrown in the bin. And rather than the litter tray being full of disgusting-smelling urine at the bottom like my old litter,the Almo Nature CatLitter was so absorbent there were no urine leaks and the smell of the soiled clumps was surprisingly pleasant - a bit like play dough.Added to that, the litter has some really great green credentials. Green & user-friendly - what's not to love?I’ll don’t think I’ll ever go back to my old cat litter, Thanks Almo Nature, I'm a convert!!

This litter is one of the best I've tried our kitties seem to like it and took to it without any problems. It is very quick to clump and when scooping the clumps hold together very well much better than any previous litter used and we have tried most! It is also excellent at odour control providing your little furbaby covers his/her poop which they sometimes don't do if a bit stressed. I also like the colour as I did use a different litter which was good but dark in colour which makes it impossible to observe any changes in the colour of kitties wee or stool, this is like sand in colour and texture its kind on their paws doesn't track and no dust in their eyes.I also prefer flushable litter which this one is just make sure to break the clumps into smaller size before flushing. I don't think I will buy anything else as long as this is available just wish I'd found it sooner. 100% recommend you try this I'm sure your little furbabies will thank you too!

This is the best litter I have bought. My kitten decided at about 5 months that he would be using my bathroom floor for his business instead of the litter tray. It has been a 2 month nightmare trying to get him to use his tray trying just about every brand of litter. He absolutely loves this litter. It clumps really well so I can keep the tray spotless and there is no odour which keeps Bear happy. The feel of it is really soft which must be nice for his paws as he now buries his business. The negatives are that it’s expensive for a tiny bag and it does leave me with a sandy bathroom floor however I think it is worth it just to have him using the litter tray again.Although a small bag I am finding a little goes a long way. I have noticed feeding my cats on a good diet does reduce the amount of waste they produce which might be helping. If you have a fussy kitten like me I think it is worth trying this stuff.

I'm so impressed with this wonderful cat litter. I live a fairly eco friendly life but no idea why I wasn't checking how my cat litter stacked up. I was getting through a big £12 bag of Catsan per month and it would really smell after 24 of fresh in the tray. I then tried wood pellets - my cat was having none of it and made several dirty protests with the final straw being by my bed at 3am! So I spied this on a demo stand in a pet shop and thought I'd give it a whirl.My cat is elderly and wees a lot, plus he has a big tray so I was dubious of the little bag but here we are a month later and it's not desperate for a top up. I just subscribed as I'm so impressed.My cat loves it and seems much happier since I've been using it. I do need to Hoover around the tray each morning but I have a cordless so no trouble at all. Very easy to empty and manage daily and twice daily if needed. Wish we'd found it earlier!

The ONLY thing i dislike about this product is the expense of it. If i could find one exactly the same as this but cheaper i would get it. If you can afford the extra expense though this stuff is great! It lasts long and easy to clean out and never starts stinking of cat urine after a while like every other brand and type I've tried so far! And my cats love it because it's very fine grained so it's soft on their paws.I have three cats. And have only used this stuff im one of the litter trays so far. It has lasted a whole month.. Just one bag.I'd probably get three to last me about three months between three litter trays for three cats. ?I also advise scooping the wee and poop out every day if you can.Or every other day but definitely don't leave longer than that and it seems to help make it last longer too.I love this stufff!!

My little sphynx cat is so picky! He started to pee outside his litter box a couple of months ago and he seemed to hate everything we tried. I knew he wanted something softer so I tried different stuff to no avail. When this box arrived it seemed so small that I was disappointed. But! My cat seriously loves it. He spent sometime there before he used it just to play around and now he is properly using it. It's like a miracle. The thing is because even urine turn so compact the rest of the litter is like clean new. Even the cat looks surprise after I clean ?. I think for that reason is value for money as well. Anyway, I also don't have the problem with dust going around the house probably because my cat is hairless so it doesn't stick to his fur.Best thing ever!

Bought this for one of my three cats that keeps soiling on the carpet I wanted a softer litter than cats best litter that we currently use. I have 3 litter trays and am only using this in the litter tray that my older cat tends to use. So far so good (24 hours in) she's used the litter tray twice and not soiled the carpet, she also seems to be going into the litter tray more and not peeing on the edge. So it's working well for her however my youngest cat seems to be obsessed with the litter! He's constantly in the tray and was even laying in the tray?! (Not sure what to make of this) but otherwise its easy to clean and haven't had any bad odours, it does however track all over the place!But for me that's better than urine on the carpet!

I go through so much litter as my cat will not use the tray if slightly dirty, so i thought this might help me, the littler is very fine almost like powder and it does say this has odour control but the litter has no actual scent so that part is a little sketchy but dont be put off, when your cat uses this the area forms a solid clump in once piece, this part amazed me I have to say, simply remove the clump and that's it the rest is untouched litter !You can also flush this too if you wish for an eco friendly product, this bag has lasted me a week now i top up a bit each time take some clumps out but its so easy and mess free love it ,will be buying this from now on no more messy trays it really helps a lot .

This is the only cat litter worth buying. o matter what price this goes up to, I would still HAVE to buy it. It's the fastest clumping and really really does leave the rest of the litter perfectly clean and fresh. There's never any odour from the litter tray. If ever your cat has trouble with sore or problematic paws, it's likely to be due to hard litter. This is so soft, our cat loves it! No problems ever experienced with flushing it either. If we're flushing a large amount of clumps, I do let it sit in the toilet bowl until the clumps dissolve before actually flushing though- just to be on the safe side.

This cat litter is absolutely amazing. There is no smell, even when you scoop through it. It clumps well, so easy to remove. There is no dying in a ball of cat litter dust when you clean the litter. It does not stick to the cat's feet, so there is no mess around the litter tray. The granules are very small, so it's easy to scoop through. The sand is very soft, so gentle on the little kitty feet. The service from the seller was amazing and the delivery was done very quickly. I feel like I have cracked the code after 9 years of searching, it is now a pleasure to clean the cat litter trays.
