For some reason it won't let me review what I actually bought (the Area 51m), instead insisting I review the m17 R2.... well anyway, this is for the A51m.What can I say... it's a beast of a laptop. Got an Oculus Rift S to go with it for some high quality portable VR. I can take it around to friends and there's no need for a big setup and it obviously blows "portable VR" like the Quest out of the water.I love that it uses and is upgradeable with desktop components. The "graphics amplifier" option also extends the lifespan of the laptop considerably by allowing full desktop cards (with SLI support, even) to be connected externally but the "dock" is overpriced to hell -- then again if you bought one of these, cost is probably not your primary concern. This however, is why I went with the cheaper 8700K + RTX 2070 option, as I intend to upgrade once the current top-end components drop in price. As it is, this will run any current game at it's highest settings with all effects cranked at at least 1080p60 -- usually significantly more (it struggled a bit with X4 Foundations but that's really pushing it). For a quick comparison, with all effects at ultra/maximum (including RTX and far Tessellation) at 1440p, I'm getting around 70-75fps in the new Modern Warfare. I'm also managing >60fps at most times in Sekiro and The Outer Worlds at 4K resolution with maxed settings.Couple of things irked me, but one is minor and the other I should have read the small print more closely. The mini display port and the HDMI port are too close together. Using the standard miniDP -> DP adapter that comes with say... an Oculus Rift S (ahem), it wont fit without pushing the HDMI plug out. So if you want to output to a VR headset and a TV at the same time, you'll have to get a seperate adapter that fits. The other thing: the version sold here on Amazon does NOT support G-Sync (or HDR for that matter), despite the 144Hz display. For that you'll have to order from Dell directly (which will probably save you some money too). Then again, with this laptop you'll probably want to output to another display anyway, which I believe is the intent.

Amazingly looking laptop, fantastic for gaming. I've had issues with their own software, but the laptop itself 10/10.

The build quality is great, boots up in 20 seconds, games run smooth. Overall this is a impressive laptop.
