Admittedly they haven't made it into a diorama yet but I bought them for the models, I plane to incorporate them into a pan aster diorama but they are great models out right. Load are included for the price and each model is off a great quality. I have found that ins infix kits the quality seems to drop in group kits but this kit doesn't have "quality-for-money" syndrome which i've so creatively dubbed other kits. No personnel are included but for £6 you can get an RAF personnel set that goes great with this kit. I would recommend this to all levels, it can get fiddle at time but other than that's it's a doddle.

I am about halfway through this kit which is to go with my finished (well almost!) model of the Stirling AA-K and I am generally quite please with the level of detail and the instructions although I feel they could be improved with a little more detail. The scale 1:72 means that some of the parts are a little fiddly but that aspect has improved with a better light (LED) and a magnifying flap to the light as well. This gives up to 12x and makes it easier. I would like it if Airfix could add some other things to this period (1943) such as buildings etc.

This is an excellent kit, the vehicles and equipment is very detailed and they fit in very well with the 1/72nd scale Lancaster. There are some tiny parts but that's to be expected at this scale. I bought the Airfix RAF Personnel and it all adds a lot of "action" to scene.Only negative is no buildings no diorama, I didn't buy for that reason but if that is what you are looking for there are none in this set. Apart from that i recommend this set of vehicles.

As to a "base" for this - I would think something about the size of the base included in the WW I tanks and infantry set (The "Western Front" set) - that came in two halves but went together quite well - but with "grass and concrete" - maybe with another Lancaster and a mosquito (as another reviewer stated) plus a control tower and some ground personnel

Not really for the beginner as quite a few small and fiddly parts. The detail is good and the end models are great for setting up a diorama. The scale is correct for 1:72 scale British WWII bombers unlike most contemporary vehicle kits which are/were issued in 1:76 ? The instructions are clear and the decals numerous and of good quality.

great kit only trouble is I have two spruce E and no spruce D have Email to Hornby awaiting reply as no way can I find to contact Amazon with this problem, cant return as already started kit so would advise check contents (as I should have done) before starting. will update as and when.

Question: where do I find airfield bases to go with it ?I'm planning to make a large 1:72 diorama with two or three Lancs and Halis with this bomber set, but I would like some advice on where to find the bases ?Thank you ! BC fan from Belgium.

Well detailed in all respects.All this fine detail would be lost by brush painting,so use of an airbrush is the only way to go.Use of these detail set's add drama,scale and realism to the setting.I am very pleased with this set.

Really good kit in light grey plastic. No flash and fits together well. Looks great when finished and enhances any diorama. The vehicles are worth the price alone and you get lots more....

Considering the era it was designed and produced, it is well detailed and pretty accurate......Looking forward to building it.....[I'm a builder, not a collector.....]

I think this is a good kit to help with a diorama, my only criticism is that its a bit short on bombs and I bought two of these so get the 10 500lbs ones I needed.

Maybe just me, but was a little misleading as I thought the bomber plane came with it but it was just the trucks and supplies, still a good product for the price.

This is a very good kit from Airfix, very detailed with lots of interesting parts. A pity it came without decals but hopefully soon sorted definitely one to buy.
